Hey people,
I find it hard to find good material for roaches... the card that the papers are in works well but then there is nothing to protect the papers.
So, I'm wondering if there is an easy method of twisting the end so it isn't too tight but still doesn't let weed fly into your mouth. Or some ideas for roach paper would be much appreciated also :D

Plenty of people roll without roaches. It ain't too hard. Just twist it, maybe wet it a bit so it sticks better and doesn't untwist.
I roll better without filters or roaches..w/e you wanna call 'em. Sometimes I actually find it harder to roll with the filter lol!
yeah I never use a roach thing I just shape it a certain way
if i do use a filter, it's always stuffed in after i'm done rolling... i can't roll the weed and filter together and make a good j... as for what to use, do you smoke cigarettes? if so start buying them in boxes, if you buy them in soft packs, the tops of cigarette packs have all kinds of pre-cut roach type things in them.... my favorite to use being the inside lip on the front of the pack... or, start keeping buisness cards in your wallet, those are good too... just rip off a piece as you need it..
Same here. I only rolled with a roach once, but I couldn't get it to maintain its shape. The opening was too big and I got a lil weed in my mouth, and still didn't get to smoke the joint all the way down, so I don't bother with them. The roach was smaller no doubt, but I wanted to smoke it till there was nothing but the thing I used to make the roach.Quote:

same boat man, i roll sometimes with a roach (i call it a filter, tho it doesnt really filter shit)...but yeah its a lot easier for me at least cause thats how i started, and for whoever asked this question, just roll like you do normally, but just think of how small the mouth should be to get a good amount of smoke without weed in your mouth and how finely grinded up your bud is, it just takes a few j's before you figure it out dont worry. what i use also is grab the end you're planning on lighting, pinch it and move your hand like you would a tin of chew with mad centripetal force..this gets all the excess bud, which is likely to wind up chillin in your mouth, to fall out and you can pack it in the end, or tuck it away for later, and soon you'll be rolling it perfectlyQuote:

I like it because when you get down to the end of the joint, its harder to get a good hit off when its burning your fingers and shit and you're trying to keep a hold of it and at the same time not pinch it too tight so it doesn't close the end of the joint. This way, it keeps then end open so you can get fat hits off while your fingers are somewhat safe(r).
Weed in my mouth isn't really too much of a problem as I usually pack it in well and it's usually sticky enough to say in the joint, besides I really don't mind too much. But for those that do, instead of having the crutch tailor made to the joint, you can just break off more than you need and spiral it around or make an S (less blockage but still ok) and that should keep the weed in pretty well.
when my friends and i roll blunts we never use roaches but for j's we tend to roll them then use a the the on the end of a pen cap to push the weed in, or a stylus from a cell phone and then once theres enough room take the roach and stuff it in there
I roll with roaches all the time. Never smoke a joint without one.
dude dont ude the filter, and dont even twist the end. you'll be fine. as long as your not sucking on that thing like a fucking vacuum no bud is going to fly into your mouth. when theres no filter, and no twisting, you get teh best hits. believe me on this man, this is how i smoke j's

when i roll blunts a ise roaches, believe it or not a roach can make a blunt burn nice and even the whole way, when i roll a joint i use nothing.
how would a peice of cardboard no longer then an inch stuffed int he end of a blunt, help it burn evenly? i'm sorry but i see absolutely no way that the roach could affect how the blunt burns..Quote:

out of 1000 joints... 0/1000 have had roaches.
a roach helps keep the end of the blunt cylinder, when a roach is not used the end you hit with ends up getting crushed reducing the amount of even air flow into the blunt thus creating a uneven burn.Quote:

I always use a roach, it keeps the end nice and good, keeps the shape and you can get a way bigger hit, and no wasting weed.
Never used one before.
Pot shouldnt go into your mouth anyway, if you dont suck it and your packing it tight.
