Does it have to be completely flat against the wall? i have it taped up and i didnt try and flatten the mylar out, its really loose and moves when the fans blow on it... and now that i think about it, it would probably reflect more light if layed flat against the wall... any opinions on this?
Yes it will reflect more light if smoothed down, for a few bucks more you can buy a material better than mylar called reflectix it is textured and stiffer so it does not blow around and make noise like mylar. :thumbsup:

Get some cardboard and a hot glue gun.Cut the cb to fit ,put a line of glue across one edge of the cb , take the roll of mylar and roll out about 2" and press it in the glue line.The hot glue tacks in mins. roll out the mylar keeping it tie about 16"and put down another line of glue.Roll on and glue it down.About every 16" .Run a line of glue along the edges.That should keep it flat for you.
You can get free cardboard from appliance stores that sells washer & stoves & refrigerator boxes. THAT'S MY 2 CENTS:rasta:

I used spray glue from 3m and rolled my 4 ft reflectix across my 4 ft wide x 8ftl ong styro-foam insultation sheet(3/4 inch) and it worked awesome!!! I will take a couple of pics...
You could even spray glue mylar to walls if you like. This stuff works great!!

LOL, I'm glad I read the last post in this thread. I was going to go run and try to find the pic I had of the SPRAY glue. Good Stuff. The doors to 'our' room were made from black plastic spray glued to mylar. It works great!
Our mylar in the room itself is all floppy and moves like yours does. Not ideal, but will work. I would assume flat is better, but then again, one might make the argument that the 'floppiness' helps prevent possible burns.....maybe....maybe not.
Anyway, I vote for reflectix or flat white paint if anyone is reading this and hasn't gone to buy a biga$$ 10' roll of that sh*t. ;)

That 3m 77 spray glue will not come off the walls,and yes repaint and spackle
the walls.You can get 1/8" hardbroad {masonight} and glue the mylar on it.
You can get it in 4'x8' sheets at homedepot or lowes or any lumber yard.
Then use double face tape and stick it to the walls.Much easyer to get off the walls and put it some place else too.

why not just get mylar and tape it to your walls... double sided sticky tape never hurt any one, just put it up strait and clean and ur done and it will come off with one "hard" pull. lol the only reason u would reenforce your mylar is if its hagning, and u would be better off bying the flexible cloth refective material. glue shit to ur walls is a bad idea unless it really doesnt matter, glueing and using cardboard seems to be a waste of time. imo.
