i think they will all be good i like wii controller but the graphics arent that good i heard. as for ps3 the graphics are prolly the best of the bunch and i like the idea of the motion sensor controller. but im going to miss the vibration feature. i was never a big xbox fan but i must admit i like the 360. the graphics are crystal clear. the games are good. but i think ps3 is prolly gonna be the one that wins the war.
thats totally not true. my girlfriends hates it when i play video games but she still loves me. and she even plays them sometimes.Quote:

I have been a Sony fan every since 3D gaming came into fashion. So obviously I'd have to go with the PS3 :D.
I got the 360. I love it. Though it did break but I got the new warrentied one coming... Eventually.
Ps3 was too expensive for my taste though and even though I want to try the Wii I didnt want it. I love Halo 2 and cant wait for Halo 3. And Burnout is awsome!
I'll go off with an opinion not based off being a fanboy for any company here.
XBOX 360 has the hardware/graphics, interface is great, xboxlive being the best console online network, halo 3, gears of war. I would of liked to have built in wi-fi for internet excess though, you have to buy a separate item.
PS3 has the hardware/graphics(about the same to the 360, look it up if you don't believe), nice looking interface(an updated version of the PSP interface), they got fall of man as their first great game for the console, 6 controllers via wi-fi, but this thing is just all about the hardware with a price tag at $600(being the highest priced version) and the lowest being $500.
nintendo wii is very sleek/stylish looking, not much hardware going for it tho, they say about 2x the gamecube power. The real revolution to it is the wii-mote tho which is really where it shines. They have zelda: the twilight princess as a launch game(being called the best, or 2nd best launch title of all-time, contender is mario 64). They have a 24hr online service going where you can also download SNES ports, N64 ports, and so on, but the system cannot play DVD's...
CONCLUSION: All in all, if I had to choose ONE system it would honestly be the nintendo Wii as I'm more for the experience than bragging rights about whos console has the better hardware. When it comes down to it, the GAMES make the SYSTEM, and nintendo is really one of the best developers in the world proving it with there new zelda game.
2nd choice would be the xbox 360, all-around it has everything going for it, xbox live, great games already out(gears of war), and its been out a little while longer than the PS3 giving it the upper-hand.
I'm sorry, but the PS3 was a rushed system(shipment to US was going to be about 500,000units give or take, defects lowered that to 300,000 or so), and is all about shoving hardware in there to make you want it. Please don't think i'm flaming the PS3, I have a PS2 and like it alot, has alot of good games out, alot!
hope my opinions helped with anyones decision.
playstation 3 is the best but im gonna wait till the price drops
as for now i wanna get the wii
Yeah, so far I haven't heard great things about the ps3, I guess someone left it on about 20 hours and it just started on fire... O_o I still can't stand that controller, I've hated it since PS1 (which I had).
I've got a 360 and I love it, some great games coming out in the next few months. I'd love to get a Wii if I had some extra money, it just looks like it'd be so fun if you were high.

I'm asking for the PS3 and maybe an xbox 360 as well. But certainly the PS3. I play video games all the time and me and my g/f have been together over a year. Gamers can find g/f's, it just may not be as easy. :(
I think he meant that he had xbox and xbox 360.
they had the same problems with xbox 360 at first all systems have bugs at first release.Quote:

Personally I'm getting a Wii because I've come to like the new control scheme which will hopefully lead to the most important use of all...... holding your own lightsaber!!!! And oddly enough when I watched a video for Red Steel, the fluidity and naturalistic movement and physics of the enemies seemed more real than anything I've seen on the other consoles yet. But then again, that's Ubisoft for you :) .
The only thing I'm concerned about is that it seems to have rather average RAM. Will it be able to handle extremely visually stimulating and varried environments without freezing up? I've been impressed thus far by the landscapes of the new Zelda and physics in Red Steel, so thus far it seems to handle things pretty well. Time will tell. But for god's sake, they couldn't have made a 1GHz processor, they had to make it 755MGz? I mean that's still double what the gamecube had but 1GHz isn't exactly a technological feat these days. Maybe it was just to keep costs down and keep the system cheap. That $280 price tag sure beats the $500 for 360 and $600 for PS3 (Speaking in Canadian prices).
Anybody know how many pixels-per-second each system can handle? It's so damn hard to find comparable technical specifications since all the systems use different measurements. I mean you get 360 with "9.6GHz", fine easy enough. Then you get Wii or PS3 and the processor is listed as something like "endeon 738 dual-schtiggling anti-jibble morphible-enhanced blue ray acceleration".
yes that a good point and the 360's price still stands and now that i think about it, the first console to problly drop its price would be the wii
1st chance I get would be the wii. It's for us folks who still have normal TVs and want a new fun gaming experience. As far as I can tell, all the ps3 and xbox games will jus tbe the same games weve been playing since PS1 but with better graphics. Iu'll eventually get a PS3 and xbox 360, but the Wii will be my 1st purchase whenver that is.
Elaborate on why they 'suck'Quote:

Tallulah is secretly a video game nerd, but she doesn't want anyone to know.
yes and i d be shur to smash u in gow at last i will look for thee and smite themm whaaaahaha xbox is cool man no dubt ps3 is just hard to come by becuse if the price i mean think bout it 2 versions and many uprgredes to both system right diff componets ps3 version 500$ has no wifi but they could have a perhiperal that conects to that shit ok
xbox live just sucks... they're just trying to squeeze every penny out of you they can.... first the system doesn't already come internet ready (where as ps does, well the new models anyways) second, you have to pay just to be able to play your games online... xbox live = teh suxorz nuborz..Quote:

Dude, I saw a video review on gamespot that Red Steel was lame. Check it out before you buy it.Quote:

The only company I have alot of respect for is Nintendo, they go for the experience like i said above and try to keep the price range as low as possible providing quality games.Quote:

Xbox live is also only $50 a month which comes out to about $4.16 a month, if you cannot afford that but could afford a PS3, than theres something wrong. Also the service does not suck, im sorry please be more specific why it does. PS3's internet service may be free, but its nothing to talk about.
yeah but think about it this way... the whole time you're paying for xbox live, after purchasing the system, you're going to end up paying just as much as the person who went with the ps3 and get their connection for free... and it's service sucks because you have to pay for it, there's absolutely no reason why playstation can offer free connection, while xbox can't, they just want to milk you for every penny and they are... that's just why i hate xbox live, i have even more reasons why i hate xbox period...Quote:

I mean really, the only cool part about the ps3 is that they support linux and make it easy to install. Other than that, it's big and expensive, I really don't give a shit about graphics, xbox/ps2/gamecube graphics suit my needs (for now) just fine.
I will grade each console on Hardware and Games
Hardware
Processors:
XBOX 360 - 3 core PowerPC @ 3.2GHz
PS3 - 9 [IIRC] core cell processor @ 3.2GHz
Wii - Single core PowerPC @ 729MHz
(for reference)
XBOX - Single core Celeron Mobile (x86) @ 733MHz
Gamecube - Single core PowerPC @ 455MHz
The PS3 has the best processor hands down. The only one that could be better is the XBOX, because it is x86 (like any standard windows or "Intel Mac" computer) it is easier for homebrew developers to work with and easier to get Linux on
Ram:
XBOX 360 - 512MB @ 700MHz
PS3 - (I don't remember, it's likely equivelant to that of the XBOX 360)
Wii - 88MB @ (unkown)
(for reference)
XBOX - 64MB @ 200MHz
Gamecube - 24MB @ 324MHz
The little amount of RAM in the Wii worries me, but the gamecube had way less it it did just fine
Graphics:
XBOX 360 - 500MHz core, 512MB @ 700MHz memory
PS3 - (unknown) core, 256MB @ 700MHz memory
Wii - 243MHz core ATi
(for reference)
XBOX - 233MHz core nVidia
Gamecube - 162MHz core ATi
The XBOX 360 has more VRAM, though really it is a tie between it and the PS3
Network:
XBOX 360 - 10/100base-T ethernet (wireless adapter: $50)
PS3 - 10/100base-T ethernet (wireless in premium version only)
Wii - 802.11g WiFi and 10/100base-T ethernet (no wireless)
(for reference)
XBOX - 10/100base-T ethernet (no wireless)
Gamecube - [N/A]
Wii owns in network compatibility, it supports every type of WiFi encryption, it really has the best connectivity of all the consoles
Controllers:
XBOX 360 - Proprietary RF (4 max)
PS3 - [IIRC] Proprietary Bluetooth (7 max)
Wii - True Bluetooth
(for reference)
XBOX - [N/A]
Gamecube - Proprietary RF, not stock, "Wavebird"
7 max is nice, but do you really want to have 1/7th of a screen to play on? True Bluetooth means potential compatibility with other Bluetooth devices, and third party controllers
Games
XBOX 360 - A small amount of backwards compatibility with XBOX games, Halo 2 is great, Burnout: Revenge is great, Gears of War looks pretty good, Halo 3 is sure to be good
PS3 - Pretty good backwards compatibility, wireless Guitar Hero will be great (M$ won't make a wireless guitar hero guitar for xbox :/), FF series and Katamari Damacy series are the only games that set it apart from anything else...
Wii - COMPELTE backwards compatibility with gamecube, plus tons of other games from NES to N64 are available for download
Wii wins. Sure, the games are a bit childish, but goddamn they are by far the most fun. I've never met anyone who doesn't enjoy the occasional Mario Party, or Monkey Balls. The only reason I would play a PS2 is for Guitar Hero, Katamari Damacy, and FF, but those games are enough to make me own one. XBOX was the best FPS console, and I think XBOX 360 will continue that legacy. GRAW is okay if you are an FPS looser with a handle like "ph33rm31k177u", but I hate those kind of people who listen to SOAD and are generally complete loosers who you would never want to hang out with. Halo and Halo 2 are, as far as I'm concerned, the best FPS's ever made. The controls are simple and beautiful, it takes 5 minutes to learn and a lifetime to master (hopefully you aren't one of those level 50's on XBL who has spent their liftime mastering it :/)
Personally, I'd go buy a used XBOX1, mod it and run XBMC and play live (especially Halo 2), and buy a Wii, it's just an all around fun console. That's what I liked about the gamecube, none of this 4 hours to learn bullshit, you pick up a game and have fun, it's not about winning or losing. As for PS3/PS2, theres nothing really special about either of them, other than Katamari Damacy/Guitar Hero/FF.
Well now that I've scared everyone with my ~110 line post, lemme know what ya'll think, and for any sony fanboys, what do you see in them? I despise sony and their products are consistently lackluster, just run of the mill average.
Now you have.Quote:

Second off, XBOX live is a huge fuckin operation. They spend hundreds of thousands per month on it, and I would not be surprised if they loose money on it every month.
Normally I would agree that them charging you for it is bullshit, but look at how PS2 online turned it... truly horrible.
The problem with free accounts is that you are basically not accountable for your actions. When your first account gets shitty ratings, just make another, it's free! I mean, they could tie your reputation/etc to the console, but then what if you want to sell it? The new buyer has to deal with your rep and your stats? That sucks.
Another problem is that people will play a matchmaking game, get good at it, then create a new account and just pwn noobs. This happened in Halo 2, where people would get bored playing other level 40s and just make a new account, ripping level 5s etc apart. It really sucked to be in a game and just get destroyed by one person. If that was a problem when accounts were $50 (well less if it's a 2 month or 3 month, but you get the point), it is going to be awful with free accounts.
M$ is not "nickel and diming" you, and trust me, I hate them more than you. Just because Sony is willing to take a hit for you doesn't mean M$ is ripping you off.
I really hope that was a joke. I mean, I'm all up for gore and violence, I love Silent Hill and similar games, but goddamn, those nintendo games are fun and you're probably just being to macho to admit it.Quote:

Please tell me you are drunk or similarly debilitated. There is plenty of XBOX live cheating, gameshark has nothing to do with that ore any other type of online cheating. Most cheaters get banned off XBL pretty quickly, but it does happen. And uh, downloading music to lag is not cheating, I don't know what you're talking about.Quote:
