First grow first log using bagseed and CFL's
hey this is my first grow and im using 6 30watt Cfl's 2600 lumens each. The seeds are from some pretty good bud i got a while ago. The cabinet is 2x1.5x3 feet and i used flat white paint on all the walls. I plan on vegging for about 3 weeks and then putting it into flower. I havent watered them since the first time i put them in the soil which is 4 days from now.. cause i read somehwere you want the roots to stretch to look for water. I might water a little tomorrow. Any advice is welcomed :rasta:

also should i fill up the cups the rest of the way to get rid of the long stem or are they fine like that? I also added tamatoes alive which my dad uses on the tamotoes every year and they wind up growing like 6 ft high so that should help
-
First grow first log using bagseed and CFL's
yes you should fill the cups the rest of the way.. it will also make it easier when you want to transplant them, Dont give them any nutriets for a while man they dont need them yet and should be fine without them for another few weeks or so.. nice bong too mate.. keep it up

First grow first log using bagseed and CFL's
alright fillled them up with soil.. just wondering what does this do besides make the stem shorter? does it make roots come out from the stem or anything?
-
First grow first log using bagseed and CFL's
ive never realy dug them up and checked.... but im fairly sure that the stem does put roots out... also are you going to be useing any other lights for flowering or the cfls?

idk might try to get a HPS but idk if ill have enough money for the whole set up? why you dont think the cfls would be enough?

Hey Agenttnk, Check out my thread, were pretty close to age's plant-wise. Except yours are looking very small, unless those cups are rather large.
Im on about week 2 or halfway through week 2.

here they are at a week and a half.. been watering them with tap water that ive left sit for a while idk if i should use that or if i should use bottled water. but the tips of some of the leave and the bottom round leaves are turning a bit yellow.. not sure whats happening.. no nutes eiether and i water about once every 3 days

Well after reading over the thread it doesn't seem like you were over watering, which was my first thought so my next wild guess would be soil and /or Ph. What soil are you using? Is it pre-fertilized? Those pots have drainage, right??
I have started seedlings in soil that was too hot, too rich for young seedlings and its essentially the same as nute burn....stunted growth, yellowing leaves, etc. Even some organic soil is too rich for some strains. Now I just start in seedling soil or Fox Farms Light Warrior.
Not saying thats your issue, but it does have similarities to what I have experienced.
Good luck!

Hey agenttnk
When you grow from a seed, the plant won't flower until it is mature enough to do so. It's not mature enough until the nodes start to alternate. Node is just the name for the junction of the petioles (leaf stem) and the axial (main stem). Look at how the leaves are growing. They come out in pairs with each pair opposed roughly 90 degrees from the last pair. When it gets mature enough to flower the leaves won't be in pairs anymore they will grow out staggered like 1 on the left side then 1 on the right side (alternating) then 1 in the front and so on. When you see that then you can change the light timing to 12 on & 12 off so they reveal their sex. The females get buds and the males get moved out or mulched unless you want seeds. But unless they're mature 12 on & 12 off won't do anything but slow down the growth and make it take longer. Good growing with ya

yea its a preferelized mix.08-.12-.08 might be the problem and yea the cups have holes at the bottom to let the extra water drain out. and i wasnt gonna start flowering if they were gonna be premature.. it was just what i was hoping for lol.

any advice on what to do.. the leaves are turning yellower should i get diff soil and try to replant them?? or do something else?
-
First grow first log using bagseed and CFL's
well i decided to transplant them.. i put them in plain potting soil no nutrients or anything so guess well have to see how that goes.

They will take awhile to get back to normal but they should eventually be ok. Good Luck

First grow first log using bagseed and CFL's
hey when mine was that small, a bit bigger the bottom two leaves turned yellow also. They eventually turned brown, but my plant still grew, then i cut them off when i figured the plant got all it needed from them. i don't think it's a big deal from experience so just keep growing.
-
First grow first log using bagseed and CFL's
you might want to start transplanting when the soil is nice and dry.

here they are 3 days later.. almost 2 weeks under the 400 watt nice stem growing.. should i fill the pot up with soil to cover the skinnier stem to make it more sturdy later on?
