Newly Transplanted Clones...Help Needed

Hey Guys
First timer here, thanks for all the help thus far. I just transplanted my clones from red solo cups into starter pots so they have more room to grow. They all look pretty good, root structure looked good as well. The clones were in soil, and I transplanted into SunShine#4. I am using Super Natural for nutes, however I haven't started yet. Given that they are still receving nutes from the soil that was attached to the root structure upon transplant, I am curious how I should alter the nute schedule. I have a PPM meter, and the instructions on the SuperNatural say 700 PPM. I was thinking maybe I will cut that in half considering they already are receiving nutes from the soil, and the fact that they were just transplanted... they might be a bit fragile? Any help is much appreciated.

Forgive me for sounding a bit pessamistic, but I see alot of questions that the answers are easily found via google or any search engine, but my thread has gone untouched for over twenty four hours now... 20 views and nobody has any input at all? Again, forgive me, but perhaps there is a forum with more action? I used to use overgrow, and answers were given within minutes... things have changed I guess eh?

no need to burn the forum buddy. You just have a very specific question.

unfortunately i dont know anything about the nutes you are using.
I can give you some ideas that work for me though:
-give em some root hormone and stimulator when you transplant.
-some super thrive or similar too
-I then give them 1/2 strength nutes (for what you’d give seedlings/cuttings) until they start to grow more vegetation
-I’ve found that clones take a while to get the whole root system going, then they grow super fast.

dont worry about it mate, I used to be an og'er too and this site is definately the most responsive I've been on since og went down, and it's getting better too. :thumbsup:

I'm not familiar with the brands you mentioned but I would start out on quater strength - like 150-200ppm and creep it up to full strength over a few weeks, that way any overfeeding will be slight and should avoid your plants burning up too much.

p.s. yeah google is useful, but I prefer letting other people do the search for me :D

Yeah, I think I will go with 1/4 strength. So the Super Natural says to use the nutes every two weeks... so basicly I am just going to use 150 PPM in the next watering, is that the way it works? Then wait two weeks, and maybe do 350PPM, gradually working my way up to 700 PPM which is the reccomended dose. Does this sound like a logical plan?

yeah sounds good - you may find you can hit em a bit more frequently like every 10 days, but as I never heard of them nutes before don't take my word for it. maybe someone who uses that stuff can help you more, so what's the NPK etc?

if your sunshine #4 potting soil has time released nutrients you may not need to feed them for awhile and when you do start at a reduced strength.

I do not believe Sunshine#4 has time released nutes, but I could be wrong. I will check when I get home but I am pretty sure it does not.


Faith - you said be careful with the lights, always good advice but how do you mean in correleation with the new transplants? Getting the lights too close? Please elaborate if possible



They appear to have no transplant shock, and are doing fine. Will give them a nice watering tonite to make sure the soil locks in with the Sunshine. I think I'm going to wait another week and then give the babies their first nutrient serving. It says on the bottle to use half the amount as directed for young plants, so I am going to play it safe and use 1/3 since they are still receiving nutrients from the soil they were potted in prior to the transplant.

In other news, they are growing fast!! So much leaf formation happening almost everyday, very exciting. They are about two weeks old now, can I put the light a little closer than the three feet now?

Exactly, your question included, if you know this why are u complaining and trashing our board? and for your info, this is the most heavily populated board for cannabis i have found, no one answerd your question because u can find the answer to it on google, in grow guides and other posts on this site. 90% of my posts are for experimental growing ideas i want to share or to ask opinions on plant growth with pics included, because just about any answer to a question can be found by taking a few minutes to look over other posts.

c'mon, they guy did say 'forgive me' twice, and he's already had a couple of rebukes! if you can't manage a bit of brotherly forgiveness then you need to smoke more medicine and stop taking things personally - it's only a friggin message board (albeit a good one).

Keep them quite far away, depending on how powerful they are, and lower them day by day, keeping an eye on them.

Not that much new to report. The four babies that I do have going are looking very healthy, have been transplanted into slightly larger pots - figured I should get em out of the Solo cups. They are planted in starter pots with the Sunshine#4. Going to start with nutes pretty soon. The other thirty or so are expected to be here this weekend. I am thinking about topping these four in an effort to keep things relatively similar with reguards to height. Looks like these four will be almost two weeks older... what you guys think?

Very exciting time, I am getting the other thirty clones tonight! I will have to post pictures once it's all set up.
I have had four clones going for almost two weeks now, they are getting large. Had been lowering the light quite a bit in the past few days, now it looks as if I will need to put it up so I don't burn these new babies. I guess it should be at about three feet above the plants now right? Hopefully these four won't strech too bad, they are used to the light being a bit closer than it will be for about a week now.
