hydro gone wrong!!!!

okay here we go!!!!

i started a hydro plant acouple of months ago (no camera, no pics) well this plant is in a 5 gal bucket and its like 6.5 feet and is out growing my closet....:p

well do to a lack of light (2 42w CFL) and a small light leak i didnt know i had till like 4 days ago

im at like 72 days and no buds (just a shitload of pistils and no crystals) and it keeps growing!!! and were almost at the ceiling

well i dont want to save it (thats why this isnt in the hydro forum) i want to know if there is anything i can make with this plant or even do with it

i want your opinions and feedback on this, i have cloned this plant along time ago and have many others so i dont care to save it

but what can i make out of it..... oil,food, a hemp belt:D

could always try to make some honey oil... i'm not sure if it's possible without having bud, but i hear people turning tirmmings into hash or oil allt he time, which trimmings to me makes me think of all the leaves and shit that get cut away from the buds when they get manicured.

Is your ligts on 12/12? If they are then your fucked, search for hash making things and the easiest one that i have found is the butane one. If they arent on 12/12 put it on that to make it bud.

if it was me id save the plant my cloning it atleast then you didnt lose anything and you could start almost fresh with females.

well i have cloned it like 2 months ago and have 2 mothers and 1 pollinated outdoors for seeds and have like 15 plants in a hydro clone tray that have rooted and i want to do something with this big (dissapointment) so i can line the whole room with 5 gal bucket soil pots and grow all 15 clones in there under 1000 hps (on order in a week)
so i need to do something, i cant move it outside because the stems arent that strong, its been topped and has many amrs growing up and swaying
and yes i have it on 12/12 on a timer but my leak was in the 6mil plastic where it met the ceiling (i put a cam in there at night to find this leak)

so i really just want to clear the room out and start with all the clones (they are growing roots and need to be put into soil before the roots get to big (they are around 4 inches out of 1inch rockwool cubes) and instead of having the closet 50/50 veg/flower id rather just pull the plastic, line the whole closet with 5 gal. buckets and start all the clones in soil under 1000 hps (i will have a grow log for this in growing)

but i dont want to trash it completly.... it has small buds and a (shitload) of pistils..... but it is so big i cant check tds or add water/nutes

so what can i make out of it?????

hash oil??? or is there anything better (im used to just smoking the shit, so i dont know about cooking and boiling it and whatnot....

making oil is pretty easy, easier then cooking with it would be, if i were you i'd either make hash or oil... but i would suggest oil... i can find a how to for you if you'd like...

Make hash and hash oil. First, shake all the trichs from the dried up, ground up cannabis using a kif shaker, then take the kiffed, ground up buds and do a butane or Iso run, making oil with the remainder.

When someone shakes the kif from the leaves then tosses is just wasting even more smoke, as there is more THC contained within the leaves, not just on the outside of them. Soaking them and doing an oil run will ensure that chem. will get every last piece of THC.

Do both, you won't be dissapointed. :thumbsup:

hey folks, im back... sorry i have taken so long, i got off work and my neighbors envited me over for shots of captian so im alittle on the tipsy side right now =)

as far as kif... im alittle lost... im used to just picking,drying and smoking

i seen a recipie where you boil the plant in water/oil and let it simmer then put it in a freezer (after you strain it) then once the water freezes you just scoop the oil off the top...

other than that im lost.....

what took you soo long to buy a light, its so neccessary indoors for flowering, i dont think you should scrap it, but there isnt much you can do beside put together a keef screen and hopefull get alot of it. its unfortunate but under cfl's and only 2 of them your flowering will take forever.

I wonder if your the fellow I told a couple months ago that trying to do hydro with CFL's is not the best idea for this reason.

make butter or oil. i like olive oil, it can be used in salad dressings, etc. Grind the leaves, stems, pistils, etc. The biggest thing to remember is to "double boil". This means fine a pot that fits inside of an even bigger pot. I use a pasta pot (like 12" tall and 14" wide) with a smaller saucepan/pot inside. The water boils the pot that the oil is in, so it never burns it. Add your trimmings to the oil (I like a cup of oil per ounce which ends up making a pretty potent mix depending on the grade you use), I like extra virgin olive oil, and then bowl for 3-4 hours. The water in the big pot will boil, the oil inside the little pot will simmer. Mix it around a couple times an hour, make sure the water level doesnt get to low.

Then dump it all over a jar or bowl or whatever that has a cheescloth strained across it. The oil will pass through, the plant matter will be kept out with the cloth. Then remember to squeeze/press all the oil out of the cheesecloth. Dont forget this, there is a lot in there. I let mine cool to room temp and then its ready to use.

If your making brownies from a package, 90% use oil not butter (although you can substitute). Try to find the brownies that require a half cup of oil, many are only 1/4 cup. I love it mixed with green pesto over some pasta, or with guacamole

as long as pistil are still growing white...I would let it finish...Might be good pot

id prolly make a "green dragon" i can get you a recipie (or it is in recipies forum) this would prolly be the best

how far away were the lights?

You have a number of options including BHO honey oil, cold water extraction, ISO oil, dry kief. Personally I would do a cold water extraction and make hash.

To do this use a 5gal bucket and fill halfway with water and add a bag of ice. Cut up your plant (dry or not, you get more when dry and frozen) and dunk it in the water. Agitate the water with a stir stick, blender, or some other way for about 5 minutes. Agitate twice or three times and then filter out the plant material and save the water. Your hash is in the water. Let it sit now for about 10-15 minutes, your hash will sink to the bottom. Next filter the water through a coffee filter.

Filtering all that water through a coffee filter takes a while so what I like to do to speed up the process is to siphon off the top 75% of the water. You lose a bit but most is sitting on the bottom of the bucket. Filter this through the coffee filter. Once that is done you can carefully scrape the coffee filter and collect your hash. It will be wet and green. Let it dry out naturally or what I do is press it between my fingers for a while to squeeze out most of the water. The hash will then take on a consistency like primo hash, real sticky, black on the outside and green on the inside, like good bubble.
