Getting ripped off blows-Share your stories

i went trolling the streets of philly for some weed last night as I sometimes do when I'm desperate. honestly i'm beginning to wonder why i bother.

i find a guy who says he's not holding but can take me to a guy a block away who is. we take the walk and he asks me to wait outside while he pops into the lobby of a run down "hotel". he comes back out and says it's gonna be about 15 minutes and would i buy him a drink at the neighboring bar while we wait. since i would have given him a few bucks anyway i figure it's cool.

2 drinks later i begin getting nervous and tell him nevermind, i had somewhere i had to be and it was taking too long. he told me to sit tight for a couple more minutes and he left. that was the last time i saw him.

a couple minutes passed when a woman walked in and asked if i was the one waiting for the weed. relief washed over me...i haven't smoked in a couple months and those were the sweetest words I'd heard in a while. she slips me a baggie under the bar and i hand her a twenty. i finish my drink and leave.

once back at my car i took out the baggie to check out my score. fucking spices. the bag is filled with oregano or some shit. motherfucker.

not only did i loose $20 for the weed, but i bought this asshole 2 overpriced long island iced teas while i waited to be fucked over some more.

the only thing worse than being without bud is getting ripped off. i'm getting too old for this shit. sure it could have been worse. i could have been mugged or lost more money, but it's still incredibly discouraging. it shouldn't be this hard to get high.

so that's my latest rip-off story. make me feel better by sharing some of yours.

I once paid 100$ for a "newspaper" kind bud quarter :O sucked ass.

One time I called my dealer and asked him for an eigth, he said it was gonna be about an hour. So I'm at my house playing some games, surfing the internet. Then I get a call and he said to meet him at a near-by McDonalds. I said okay, and walked over a couple blocks to the place. I saw him sitting at a table next to the window. As I walked in I could see him looking really nervous. He asked me to excuse him while he went to the restroom. About a minute later I walked into the restroom (where we were going to exchange 'gifts') and everything goes smooth so far. I handed him the money and just as he was about to hand me the bag the store manager walks in. The guy never noticed, but as my dealer was leaving the rest room he slipped me the baggie underneath the sink (we were both washing our hands.) I never looked at it because the store manager was right there in the restroom. When I got home, I noticed it was about a half filled baggie (a small one at that) with some powder looking shwag in it.

I tried to call him but he never answered, and that was it for our business. :(

I used to have a dealer, the only one I knew at the time, and he was into the c*** pretty hard, but he sold reefer. I bought a few bags from him, and this one time I paid $40 for an "1/8." I look at the bag, look at him and say, "what the fuck is this?", he kind of looked at me and says, "what, that's not an 1/8" and I told him it sure as fuck didn't look like one. And it didn't. It looked like rolled up grass clippings dried in a hard clump. It did get me high, but that was when I was like 16. Shit, I knew no one, and I knew I was getting ripped off. Being from Holland and all, you know what good cannabis looks like, even if you don't smoke. ;)

Another time when I was 18, my old friend, who is now dead, suicide, he came up to me, told me his friends knew where to get some s*****s. I asked him if he knew them for very long and he's like, oh yeah, these guys are good people, I've known them for like 3 years, yadda yadda, so I was like, trusting, so okay, lets get some. Buddy tells us an ounce for $90, and I mean, these guys put on an awesome display of acting. Pretending to talk on the phone with their dealer, telling us how good they were...yeah. My buddy paid $50 so I tossed in the other $40. I told my friend we should tell one of them to leave their bikes here just in case they don't come back. They didn't like that as it was a long ways for them to go and would take them forever. To say the least, I never saw those two goons again and they got my $40.

That's the only time I've been ripped off where I got nothing back in return. Other times, I'm sure bags have been underweight, but at least there were buds in the bags.

I used to have to take a cab (I don't drive) 10km out of the city to get weed from a middle man. $20 each way, and $160 for a half ounce, so $200 for a half ounce I was paying, and the middleman, who is VERY untrustworthy (I didn't know at the time) probably snagged tons from me.

I once paid $40 for a half oz it kinda sucked...

i've never been ripped off. *knock on wood* the most i have been ripped off is probably when a friend of mine shorted me like a half a gram on an oz, and i'm sure it was by accident. i would never fall for some shady shit where i have to buy the guy drinks and wait around and then not look at the bag before paying for it. live and learn.

i feel pretty lucky, the only time i've ever been ripped off is when I went to buy an 8th from this guy i know back from when I was like 6. So I ask for an 8th and he's like "how about I give you 7 grams, and this zipock of clippings from the same bud for 40$, i'm heading out of town for a bit and just don't want it laying around." :stoned: lol

Okay, i've been ripped off twice but really only once. The first time, I was pretty new to smoking and I bought a gram from this kid in my English class who was a pretty chill kid. Well when I inspected it there was oregano in there, I forget if all of it was or not but I got my money back. He said it was from some girl he got it from. The other time is kinda ridiculous. My friend gets this new dealer so we go and get some bud from him and he's cool, nothing shady... So we pick up from him 2 times and everything is great. Then, we're with him a 3rd time in this estate and he said okay hand me the money and i'll be right back. I put up 20 and my friend put up 10 thinking we could trust this guy. He never came back. Also, the other times i feel ripped off are if the bags don't weigh up. Maybe it's just me but i would never underweigh a bag for anyone. I always hear people talking about bumping other people and fair enough, do that if you must, but I won't. I dunno who i can trust these days with bags...

i have been very lucky with the quality of my hook ups. both guys i get dank from always have REALLY dank stuff for the area. one of the guys i have known since 7th grade and played baseball and was in a band with in high school and i would put his stuff up against anyone's, and the other guy is a friend of my roomate who is a really cool, honest guy. back when i bought schwag it was from this 42 year old guy i lived with and hung out with all the time. he was pretty much like my best friend until he moved out and he would buy QP's and hook me up with bags at whatever he got them for instead of upping the price. i don't know how i would go about finding herb if it wasn't for roomates. god bless them.

under normal circumstances this would have never happened, but when you are desperate you tend to hope for the best /shrug

besides, i've had success with giving people a few dollars to take me to some bud. there are some shady characters on the streets who will help if it gets them money to buy crack or whatever.

Ive gotten ripped off before...but it was sad cuz at the time i didnt know i was getting ripped off...

my gf's brothers friend called me up and asked if i wanted to buy some weed for 35 A GRAM!!! I was so dumb...i was like alright that aint too bad..

it was split between 4 people, i didnt even get high...

man...im still embarassed everytime i see my ex gf's brother now..

id like to see him rip me off now though.... those mother fuckers..
