Wow...jsut got busted

Wow......just got busted. Well I was gonna have a nice smoke in about 20min, when my mom comes in and says she smells pot and that I have been smokin. Well I play cool, and for 10min she searches my room relentlessy, until she finds my pipe, lighter, and my 1/4oz of herb I had just got....The herb is purple and is very stinky. My dad is completly fine with it, because he knows it doesnt affect my grades at all, but my nazi mom thinks its the devil. I know all the arguments in favor for pot, because I have done lots of research on it. So I'm just going to have to set her down and explain everything to her, because she is a very conservative/simple minded person.

Any advice you guys? For some reason I remained completly calm throughout the whole situation and never raised my voice are anything.

my friends parents completely hate pot and dont want their kid smoking it but one day they found his 1/2 and the kid was such a smooth ass talker he got it back from them lol!

I am usually a very smooth talker, but my mom is just the most ignorant person alive. Even if she is confronted with evidence about anything that will go against her beliefs...she will not listen. So its a very hard uphill battle with her. Last time I got busted, my dad just gave me back my sac lol and said "Don't let your mom catch you" so its all good with him, but this time my mom got my sac so god knows whats gonna happen to my 1/4oz and my 80$ bubbler:confused:

Pot is illegal
You are living in your parents house, so stick by their rules.

You need to realize that she thinks she's looking out for you. As I'm sure you are aware, you can get in some serious trouble if you get caught holding. As a parent (and toker!) I don't have a problem with weed. In fact, I would much prefer my daughter to toke than drink.

Its so fucked up when people rat, I saw this one shit on the news a few weeks ago that made me sick...a dude was living at these apartments and I guess he was dealing. The manager of the apartments found a book about growing weed when he was dropping off some paperwork in the apartment. The manager called the police and they found like 40gs and a scale. They guy is going down for cultivation and distribution due to some douche. I thought that story was messed up, but your own parents called the cops on you...damn that sucks.

I totally agree with obeying their rules, but my dad is compleytley fine with it, because he knows that alchohol is far worse. My mom for the most part has avoided me today, after the discussion I had with her last night. I pulled all the stops on her about how its not bad. She is a very christian/conservative type, and I made her stop dead in her tracks with this argument. I said that God created cannabis, while man created alcohol, then I told her how a drug works. Pretty much for any substance to cause you to alter your reality, your body must have "RECEPTORS" to recieve/translate those substances. Now I said "If we have those receptors in our nervous system, who put them there?" Since she doesnt believe in evolutions, I told her God must of put those cannabinoid receptors in our nervous system, and since he is all wise, he would not have put those cannabinoid receptors in our brain if the cannabis was so LETHAL? Then I went in on who started the cannabis tax act, and why it passed, and who benifets from having cannabis illegal and all that stuff. She just walked away because she was to dumbfounded to respond to me lol.

So I have not talked with her since. Thanks guys for all your replies, and I'm sorry that some of you got screwd over by family members rating you out:(

I didn't read any replies but im in the same boat as you man. My dad smokes mad chron but my mom thinks its gonna get me killed on the corner of harlem. I always think about offering her a joint.

My mom hated the fact that I smoked when I lived in her house back in the day, but she tolerated it because i wasn't drinking. Everytime I came home high she would look into my eyes and just shake her head in dissapointment, then she would tell me to go to my room and sleep it off.

WOW, well I thought my dad was cool, but he has some sort of disorder that when he gets pissed, he looses all logic. So he comes in and just starts yelling about the supidest shit in the world, like how he works so hard and yadda yadda yadda. He said he nevers see's me studying and that my grades are shitty...Showed him my grades, and he didnt respond. He then says they lace every single piece of pot is laced with hard drugs like opium, crack etc. I tell him no one would come back and buy from a dealer that laced his shit, and that he looses money lacing it, so the dealer looses money both ways. Pretty much my mom just got him all worked up. So I bring in the same arguments that I used on my mom, and even mentioned the fact that he gave me back my bud last time I got caught, and wanted me to smoke him up, and he just denied it and started to yell more. SOOOO im getting kicked out of the house, and they are revocking me from the family...

The part about god putting cannabinoid receptors in our brain threw him off the most, and he started calling me a smart ass and a drop out, I said WTF!!!

I said that I am not a looser drop out, I am a junior in highschool and I am in Calculas, honors Physics, honors law, and I am donig ok like B average in all of my classes. He then just left and said I'm gone.....

First time I have ever been brought to tears from my own dad's ignorance, and stupidity. He tried to rip my computer out I worked all summer for, but then I said that "If you do that, you wont have internet since my comp is the server for our house's network, so he just punched the shit out of me and left. Brave move for punching me because he is a 54yr old and is 5'10 170lbs and I'm 6'4 220lbs. I felt like knocking him out cold, but I knew he didn't know what he was really doing because he was in a rage.

I have no idea where to go. My dad just said..."Go live with one of your cool stoner buddies u looser."

I am putting those two into a old folk's home when the time comes.

NWDankBuds that really fucking sucks. I hate when people you think are on your side suddenly turn against you, especially a parent. It's happened to me before.
I doubt they will really throw you out, but your dads being an asshole. He's a hypocrite too, especially since he gave it back to you the last time. That in your mind makes you think he would be okay with it, but he's just really whipped it seems like.

For serious. My GF and I have looked long and hard for studies against MJ. Even looked on the DEA (who by the way literally lies. They make some statement like â??MJ kills peopleâ?� then cites a pro MJ study. I guess they get away with it cuz no one checks the citations) Anyhoo there are two correlational studies which are negative. They are mis-stated when ever they are cited. This is because correlational evidence is never CAUSAL unlike how it is presented. They found that drop outs smoke more bud than normal students. They state this fact in such a way that it looks like MJ Causes people to drop out. This is a conclusion that shouldnâ??t have been made, it is literally a lie.
BTW it is called the third variable problem if anyone is interested.

your dad just probably did a 180 cuz he caught shit for what you were doing, which i don't think should be a factor in this at all... i mean you couldn't of possibly calculated the risk of it all, but you definately dont' want to shove a wedge between your mother and father... i think you need to have a convo with your dad, about what he feels is right and wrong, and about not just 'fronting' becuase someone important to him feels diffrently then he does.. i also think you need to tell your mom (and yes i'm typing this) to research it for herself, to not just believe the first thing she reads, but research the internet, including govt. bullshit, and norml funded AND APPROVED STUDIES... with so much information flowing back and fourth between the world these days, it can be hard to find what is real, and what is made up... but more usually then not, the study that seems to repeat itsself with the same results over and over (in example: alcohol is more damaging both to the mental psyche and physical body than marijuana is) are more than likely true... especially if funded by completely diffrent sides of the spectrum (i'm making this one up, as it's the only one that sums up every govt. against marijuana) "coalition against mairjuana" and other studies formed by companies and orginsations for marijuana have confirmed this finding...

One of my old friends' dad used to smack him around, all the way up until he was 18. Used a belt, threw him down stairs once or twice. He flipped one time whe he was 18 and stabbed his dad up. Not sure if his dad's still alive but he's serving 14 months in prison. Moral of the story is, kill your parents.

If you're a minor, aren't your parents actually liable for posession of MJ? I don't know. I was a late bloomer and tried MJ for the first time when I was 19or 20.

After just duking it out, my parents finally realized that cannabis is not bad. I counter every arugument they had against it with truth. Now they just say its illegal; I then said it was ILLEGAL to grow cannabis during the 1700-1800s if you had land, so that proved laws mean really nothing.

They took me to drug tests, thinking that since it's a "gateway" drug, that I had taken other HARD drugs, and was now a helpless addict. Only thing that came up was a small amount of cannabis, which proved that I was not smoking it every day, because that is what they thought since I had a ROOR bong and nearly an ounce of bud when they found my stash lol. So I provbed to them that I only smoked on occasion when I really had free time, and mainly money lol...Being broke is my "anti" drug :D

Anyways I think I am in the clear, because they got my grades, there good, so my rents are happy.

I told my mom all the things I had learned, and she just said "Well thats your opinion about how the universe works, so it is not true, just opinion." I stated to her that the math in Quantum Mechanics does not lie, just like how 2+2 will always equal 4. She then stated that cannabis had warped my mind into not believing in god...

I could not believe how stupid my mom was from that comment she said, and I really dont respect her opinion about things anymore. Cannabis has helped me find god more then before I smoked, and cannabis has made me smarter, and more calmer, and more understanding of issues. Before I smoked, I was a little shit of a kid, who never respected anyone or anything, but cannabis has opened me up to soooooo many ideas and concepts about everything.

This might be of interest to you, this is a psychological explanation for you mothers behaviour. If you agree, you can use this to help change her mind on this type of thing.

Here is a simple situation:

A child believes he is smart
He studies for a test and takes the test
When he gets the test he didn’t do well.

He has two choices
1) change his belief. So he is actually dumb
2) lower the relevance of the information. Say the test was too hard, didn’t study enough

this is locus of control. It’s not really related.

Its sort of a little formula::
You have a belief,
You are acquire new information which contradicts the belief
so
You either modify your belief to accommodate the new info. Or you discredit the info and maintain the belief


In your mothers case she is discrediting the information by calling it an opinion.
She is wrong, you know this, I know this, Einstein knows this.

Some people know they do this. But they don’t care, they prefer to keep their incorrect beliefs. I don’t know why it’s probably because they are so attached to them

Wow, I am seriosuly impressed you convinced someone who doesn't believe in dinosaurs (lmao) [well I guess you didn't say that, but she doesn't believe in evolution, therefore likely believes adam&eve were the first humans, and if they didn't see dinosaurs... etc...] anything. I can't believe you have a good relationship with her, I try to love everybody, but I just can't touch ignorant people like that. I mean, that's just insane. Well atleast you 1) didn't have the cops called on you [I know kids who have had this happen to them] 2) Still have a decent relationship with atleast some of your family.

Oh and btw, if you get the time and don't mind potentially causing some awkwardness, bring up FSM (Flying Spaghetti Monster). Basically it is a religion that takes christian bullshit and throws it over the top, like saying that all fossils are fake because the giant ball of spaghetti tampers with our world in real time. It's quite hilarious actually.

"Mom, I realize that I am underage and that I am living under your roof, so I will abide by your request that I not smoke cannabis while I am living in your home. That being said, I think that you should know the facts about cannabis, and make your own decision about it." (Then, present your facts.)

And then, don't smoke. Maybe you can ask permission to smoke on special occasions or events, or maybe your dad would let you when your mom is out of town. But I wouldn't go behind their backs, cause if you get caught again you will get in REAL trouble cause you broke a promise.
