Is inhaling lighter fluid from lighting your bowl bad for you?
anyone?
Captain, I'm sure it can't be good for you, as you could probably imagine for yourself. I certainly wouldn't make a practice of inhaling it. This might give you some ideas why not.

i think they are not for sure though but i like the taste with matches
Thank you for the response Bird Girl, but I didn't mean sniffing it. I ment by simply lighting and re-lighting your bowl with it. Does anything inhaled from this standard method cause problems?Quote:

But inhaling it from lighting and relighting a bowl is a very similar way of inhaling smal amounts of the fluid vapors, even if it's not intentional huffing. You still take some percentage of the lighter fluid vapors in with your inhalation, and that's why I sent you that link anyway.Quote:

make cannabutter and eat it...
When sun is available use a magnifying glass....its great and very clean. Like a vape kinda, I like it better actually.
You can always light your bowls with matches, you know. I was assuming you were using--and asking about--some sort of heavy-duty lighter fluid like you buy in cans at the pipe stores or barbecue grill places.
Captain, are you simply worrying about residue vapors from a cheap disposable lighter? Because if that's the case, I think there are far more important things to be worried about. Truly. I think any exposure you're getting to butane, which is usually what those contain, is negligible. I just realized you might not have been talking about the same fluid I was. . . .
There you go, i love solar hits.!Quote:

...
please
Butane which is used in disposable bic lighters is very safe from what I understand. The byproducts of combustion is not much more that simple water vapor and CO2. Naphtha on the other hand, which is used in wick type lighters like Zippo, I think is less benign. It doesn't seem to burn as cleanly, which means you get more unburnt hydrocarbons in the fumes. You can tell the difference with your nose when lighting the two types. Zippos have much more smell, while bics have none.
