this is them a week later...October 25th
this is them as of Noveber 4th...
this is the latest photos of them, which was November 7th...as of right now, they are getting wattered once every 2-3 days depending on how wet or dry the soil is....natural sunlight until i have enough for HPS and ballast...these are all seedlings from bagweed that i purposely purchased because in a single 1/8 there were about 50 seeds, (not to mention it was only $20 for the 1/8) so i decided to invest in it for trial and error grows, to understand more about growing, and so i can make mistakeson these, and not more valuable ones later down the road...
Split them up so you have 1 pot to each plant or they will compete for nutes.
Yea I bet even now when you try and transplant them theyll die of shock cause all their roots are tied together. Seperate em!
thanks already for the feedback...i know they could compete for nutes, but so far there is no sign of it...but i am going to seperate them ASAP
looks like you on your way, just get them guys out of them smaller containers and into single pots.
that HPS is gonna do wonders, get ready for the growth
peace!

hey humboldt....ya, im hoping the HPS does its thing...lol...im actually driving up to humboldt tomorrow morning to pick up some herb from a friend that a has a setup very similar to yours...
these are them as of November 20.....i did not seperate the plants in time, so im just going to replant all them together, and see how it works, because i am not worried about the yield of thiss crop, i am doing this for the experience for later...any more advice is greatly appreciated...o, and also, on the second picture, does that look like pollen balls?....just want to make sure...i'll try to post better pics soon...
yeeah 2nd pic, thats a male plant.
seperate your mails from your females.
it doesnt snow in northern california?
no...it doesn't snow here where I'm at.....r u sure that is a male?....
yeh its a male, if those things are round ball like blobs, then yes, its a male. as for ppl telling you to seperate them, well, its not a big deal, i dont know why everyone says it is, personally i grow mine seperate but i have a friend who grows them in twos or threes, and they take up the water faster, making air available to the roots faster, and if they compete for nutes, (which they dont seem to) just dont give the bigger one nutes, its not hard... i think most of the people on here get too fussy sometimes, and forget that weed grows naturally in big patches, and turns out fine.....
p.s. i 4got to say nice grow man... for a first grow its lookin good...
hey, I was just wondering, which types of nutes should I be using?...they are 1 month old, and I have not been using nutes, because I don't know which to, or if I need to this young...I was also wondering, since I planted them at the wrong time of the year, will the 12 hour light cycles cause these plants to show their sex early on?....are there any negative sides to them being exposed to 12 hour light cycles this young in their life?....thanks for all the advice, and anything else is greatly appreciated....
ps. thanks abattoir, ya, I will be leaving them together, and replant them into bigger pots together...
I will keep everyone posted on their growth....new and better pics hopefully coming soon...
ONLY Put your plants on 12/12 cycles when your going to put your plant into bud.
Dark period is for photosynthesis wich causes trichromes to grow.
I understand that...but there is no way of changing the hours of the sun...LOL..these are outdoor....Quote:

lol...I know....I was away during the summer, so couldn't do it then, so I decided to plant them now, and see wut happens....they have so far survived 4 days of raining with no sun (which happened 2 different times), and I've gone a week without watering them if I don't have time, and they are still healty....everytime I check on them, its a suprise to how much they have grown with barely no upkeep....we'll see what happens, as I am still trying to get a HPS setup going soon....I'll probably let them stay outside fo a while longer, because it seems like they are doing fine out there....Quote:

If they aren't showing sex already they soon will, and if you don't want a ton of seeds you will kill the male plants. Since the light cycle is in the winter season they wil begin to flower immediately and will not grow very big at all, if you leave them outside. I have also read in these forums that there is a greater chance for plants to become hermaphrodites if they are in their flowering cycle then put back into the vegetation cycle. In the vegetation cycle all they do is grow larger and don't flower. If this is just an experiment though I don't think you care too much. If you want no seeds and bigger plants though you need to get your plants inside as soon as possible under a 24 hour light cycle or 18/6 whichever you perfer and kill all the males. Good luck, and have fun learning and growing.
here is a pic of male and female plants sex parts.

i know to get rid of the males, but im just going to grow them elsewhere for the seeds...i have not noticed any markings of pestsyet, but i will not be suprised if i do find some...thanks again, and i hope to get a lot more feedback...:rasta: :rasta: :rasta:Quote:

How are you dealing with the freeze at night? I am in Nor Cal and we have had at least 4 freezes this year...?
Whats with the chicken mesh over the plants? can you do that with outdoor plants? anyone know i like the idea if its dosnt fuck them up. anyone shed any light ???
peace
He's probably using the wire to keep the critters from eating them...
the night cold doesnt seem to be affecting the growth....yes,i am using the chicken wire boxto keep some of the plants awayfrom piece of shit squirrels...lol.....and also, anyone know of good deals for HPS setups:rastasmoke: :rastasmoke: :rastasmoke:
Your plants look healthy and you should be proud of that but your making classic first timer mistakes, over crowding and small pots. By now you should have those babies in atleast 3 gallons
they seem to be doing well in the size pots they are in right now, and i already have plenty of much bigger pots for them to be transpanted into, sometime in the future...i will deffinetly have new cleared pics tomorrow for your viewing pleasure:rastasmoke: :rastasmoke: :rastasmoke:Quote:
