Are there little guys doomed?
These are about 13 days old. I think it was getting too hot in the space and was wondering if thats why the leaves are reaching up on the one plant and down on the other. If its not the heat causing the problem what else might it be? Both plants were kept the same distance from the light.

kinda hard to say without a pic or any other info, could be a watering prob?
Are there little guys doomed?
haha, i forgot to post the pics. here they are.

usually your leaves will curl if they get to hot it looks like over watering to me i would add some perilite your soil to help with drainage
good luck-smokes

Is that Coco. My seedlings looked like that when I used Coco. I found out it was becasue the Ph of my water was 7 and I shoudl have been lowering it. As well Coco requires you to use nutrients fairly early cuz there is none in the soil.
I am still a new grower though So I could be mistaken. Thats whata seed guy told me when I went to get some new beans.
I'd use Promix its designed to be used with normal Tap water Ph7 Neutral.
My 2 Cents
Good luck

they look kinda yellow to me. give more info like lighting, soil , ventillation, nutes(if any), and anything else youi can think of.
kdspecial. promix is very acidic as it is a peat based soiless mix. imo you must use about 1tbsp dolimite lime per gal promix to keep the ph in the low 6's which is optimal for mj grown in "dirt". i always use promix and if lime isn't added there are big problems due to the extremely low ph of the peat which is in the low 5's!!!!!!!!!

ello m8.. im a newish grower myself.. but from the looks of your pics i would say the plant with its leaves pointing up is a good thing as that surposidly means the plants happy.. i would agree too... the other looks like some1 else said mabe over watered.. or mabe you just watered ? or the day b4?.. anyways things dont look bad attal.. a little streached and yellow.. but most of the streach is the bottom of the stem which you can cover up with soil when you repot... allso new growth should be green aslong as you dont overfert or underfert or anythin.. but as for the reason for the yellowing i dont know.. but i saw more educated answers down the page so all is not lost;)

Does that soil have fertillizer already in it? That very well may be your problem, as the seedlings we started in soil that was too hot (too fertilized) for them, yellowed and stretched.
Oh yeah, after second look, it appears to be nute burn. Notice the browning tips of the leaves? Before 2 weeks its too early to be a deficiency, since the plants don't need food for at least two weeks. Try flushing the soil thoroughly next time you water, use 3-4 times the volume of the size of the pot.

Any idea what the temps actually are and what kind of light do you have on them, and how far away are they from the light? Also, do you know what kind of soil you used? Also, how often do you water? Do you let the dirt dry out some or keep it constantly soggy?
Answer those and I'll be able to better diagnose the prob. :rasta:

Soil: Lowe's generic top soil
Lights: 4 26w daylight 6500k cfls @ 1600 lumens each and 4 24" 6500k daylight tubes @ 1025 lumens each. 10500 lumens total in a 2x2 space, but only using about a 1x2 part of it so just a lil over 2 square feet used.
It seems like all the leaf tips are browning and like the growth thats been there for a while is pale.
The temp was too hot at nearly 100 farenheit even with a small pc fan blowing on them so i had to open the door to the closet. I hope im not letting out oo much light.

Oh and its just bagseed, of which most do not seem to want to germinate or are very slow to.

I tried a Sierra Organics Topsoil mixed with perlite and it was waaaaay too hot for my seedlings. I killed off two batches of seedlings thinking the problem was elsewhere...repotted in Fox Farms Lite Warrior and they are taking off and returning to green now. I think topsoil is too rich for some seedlings.

doesn't matter .
were all doomed , nobody gets out alive . lol .
u need to add pearlite like dude said n not water too much .
peace

Why are you using so many lights? And in such a small area too? Jeez.. you are probably burning them. You would be fine all the way till flowering with just those cfls, where it probably would still be fine.

well i know ya cant believe everything you read, but i read in a thread that anything less that 2000 lumens per square foot and they die, and that 5000+ is best, but even with the larger fan i just put in there i still cant close the closet door without 90+ degree temp. maybe its good i have so many lights because im sure im loosing a lot of it with the door open. thoughts and opinions welcome and appreciated.

50 watts per square foot is a general rule of thumb on the lower end.

your setup is great, but you HAVE to keep that heat down!! what kind of grow is it: cabinet, closet, room, etc? flood us with info :)

I dont know why you were under that impression, but its absolutely ridiculous to have that many lights for two plants in their early growth.. even in their late growth. You could get away with only using only two of those CFLs if you really wanted to, and then adding the other two as the plant gets bigger.
Are there little guys doomed?
you need more VENTILLATION not CIRCULATION! a fan blowing air around the space is circulation and does very little to lower temps. ventillation is exhausting the hot air from the space and bringing in cool air to replace it.
what you said about letting to much light out is strange. if you leave the door open the light does not escape and not get to the plants. the problem is that if there is a light leak it can compromise the security of the grow and also if light gets out that means it also gets in and if your dark cycle isn't completely dark then your plants will have huge problems when you try to flower them. just something to think about. good luck
