500w mercury vapour light ( i know is shit will change soon)

2x bags of mirical grow
1x nft system (not sure if i can use this yet need more space)
1x bubbler system (for mother plant)

well ive just read some one's thread and it said mg is not good for the plants to start off with. i live in england and was wondering what would be the best soil to start from something i can just go down to like b&q or homebase and pick up any help is most greatfull thank u all

so mg aint good to use for seedlings so what is the best commercial soil to use i,e from homebase or b&q? i want to do every thing right this time ive just been out and bought a humidifier/temp and humidity gauges. and there all set up now in my grow room. also i need to get a new ph and cf meter as my ex smashed them up. but apart from that ive got every thing now so any help on the soil situation is most greatfull

hello all well ive just been to homebase and there fucking useless lol any way i got some soil but i aint sure if it's the right one it's called

homebase rhododendron azalea&camellia compost
the description reads ( contains a special mix of nutrients and the correct ph balance to ensure a healthy vigorous growth

is this the correct one ???

and to ecky thanks mate got them today im well pleased with them thank u so much i cant belive the quality of the strains there is there nice wrapping up as well man lol nuff respect to you. well now every thing is ready just got to wait for a reply on the soil question and then we can begin again. and i promise picture updates through out speak soon

sup ppl it seems like it's only me adding to this thread lol never mind i just like to keep it up todate as of about an hour ago my mate came round with a 4ft flo at 36watts i dont know what the luminems will be on that but i saw one in the shop which was only 30watts and that put out 2300 would that flo plus my 20watt curly flo be enough to get me through to flowering or should i get more flo's in there and as for the soil could some one let me know if i got the right one coz if not i'll take it bk 2moro i dont want to start till i have every thing i need thank you to all of you for your help and advice

get yourself to a good grow shop and they will help you with soil.do you know any other growers?? these are a vital source of information,plus if your lucky you could blag some clones,a lot easier than from seed on first attempt.no sexing issues at a latter date,just keep reading posting any problems and im sure everything will go well.good luck:thumbsup:

:pimp: I think there is too much of a big deal made over soil. These plants are literally weeds, they will grow through cracks in tarmac if you let them. I have always used bog standard seedling compost to start my plants off and it has worked fine every time. The only thing I would suggest is not to use soil from the garden as it will have hundreds of insect eggs and bugs in it, which will end up living off your plants. BTW - I live in England and I haven't had a good session for ages!

hello all im in day 5 now and was wondering how i premote more root growth and leaf growth because at the minute it seems like there just stretching i have the right light now so its confuseing the hell out of me. b4 any one ask's im useing a 36 watt floresent strip light with 2x 11 watt floresent strip lights as side lights. im giving them 20hrs on and 4 hrs off is there any thing else i can do to make my grow better.also the temp in there is 60'c and the humidity is 45/50 is all this right? please help many thanks

the last 5 are of a lil hydro grow im doing ive got an nft system with a 36 watt florescent light the cuboard will change in a few days but for now its all good im in the middle of building i big one that slips right over my nft system i painted it today so tomorro im putting the last coat on then i have to wire up all the electrics fans and fit my lights in to it. but so far how do you guys think its going any comments are most greatfull thank u all in advance

cheers brooke yeah seems like its going right this time. they have grown over night which is well good. i was told last night the light im useing for veg is not enough is this true its a 4foot 36watt strip light i have all my babies spred out underneath it is this right? any help is most greatfull. well apart from that every thing is going really good i watered them today ph water of 6.5. no nutes yet as still too young there only 6days old. but i do have to ask when do i start to introduce nutes to them some people say 2wk's and some say 3 or 4 wk's which is right???? many thanks in advance happy tokeing and growing all:rasta: :)

i'd say if your lights are working, then don't worry if it is actual size (though i've never heard of a 48" florecent fix being less than 48")

for nutes, wait til day 12-14, then introduce high n formulated nutes at 1/4 or less strength, work your way up every other watering.

cheers princess for the info im very greatfull, yeah ive just checked and the light is 4ft=48inches it might be different sizes for different countries but i just got my tape messure out and it's deffo 4ft but ive decided im gonna get one more strip light to go in there same wattage but a cool floresent one as the one i have now is warmdunno what the difference is but every one else is useing them together so ill give it a go it can only help more. i really need to go to my hydro shop soon but i keep getting stoned then chilling out and never get there lol. right here is my shopping list if there is any thing else u guys think i need can u add on please

right people ive just been out i couldnt get to my hydro shop so i went to my garden centre i spoke to some bloke and he advised me on some food for my babies the n,p,k is 7.7.7 is that ok for my little ones there 1 week old today i no they cant have the food yet but i want to get every thing ready. im off to my local light shop today to get one more strip light anu info on the food i bought is very welcome

Looking good so far. I think more light would help them grow a little faster but not essential yet. As for nutes i wait untill i have my first 5 fingered leaf. You can buy root stimulant which helps young plants get going. I also give my young plants a little drop of "superthrive" as it contains vitamins and minerals to keep the plant going untill i fertilize it.

cheers legalizdahurb your info is much appricated and very helpfull. i bought a 5" 58watt floresrnt strip light at 4350 lum's but i have to take it bk as it dont fit right in my cuboard so i was pissed at that lol so as for the nutes i'll type what it says on the bk and u can tell me if it's ok to use (npk 7.7.7. and it says "is a fast-acting plant food with wetting agent and added trace elements for the strong healthy growth of container and garden plants from which fruit or flowers are to be picked: thoroughly water the soloution into the soil around the base of the plants (feed every seven days) is this ok to use when i need to start feeding???? aslo how can i get the ph up on my soil i bought a test kit and the ph is around 5 and as i was told it has to be round 7 i just dont know how to get it up to that. many thanks in advance

For veg you should have a higher N. I am not sure what is best but readin off my bottle it says NPK-14-6-17 and lots of other trace elements and stuff. My Nutes are Canna - Terra Vega. They do lots of differant ones but this is for soil.

ello every one thats following this thread. well today i transplanted 3 of my babies my k2/ppp and skunk#1 i just have 5 more to go into bigger pots now hopefully by monday they all should be in there new homes lol. i am going to use the nute's i got the other day one because i cant afford any more at the minute. this grow is really so i can make some money and have a lil smoke as well. but the next grow will be bigger and better and i'll have that lil bit more experiance as well. ne way bk to my babies i want to name them but do u think its unlucky to name them this early and if you have any suggestions please feel free as i dont want to keep calling them k2/hindu kush and so on i want girls names for them. i will be posting more pic's in the morning so watch this space lol. oh yeah as for my grow cuboard im making it's allmost done now i will add a couple of pics of that so you can tell me what u think take care all happy tokeing and growing peace out all
