My Grow Box Setup! ~Pics~

Hey everyone, Completely Stoned has been gone for a good long wqhile but now I am BACK! And with a new grow to log for you guys! It's 2 1/2' x 2 1/2' x 4' and its all painted white inside. There's a computer fan in the back panel of the box and a small desk fan blowing over the ceiling to keep the hot air out and blowing on the bulbs. There WILL BE another small fan at the bottom blowing up towards the computer fan to keep the plants air fresh. I'll use some Co2 cans and put it in there every now and again to keep the plants thriving. I have SuperThrive and Bat Guano so we're good to go! I'll nute them at probably 5 weeks. We're at 1 week right now but the plants are in another small grow box withe CFL's sprouting so that they can be able to handle the HPS power.

3&4. The lock opened and whats inside. I still need lights and then i'll be set. I'm going to buy 2 75W HPS Ballasts and put them shits in there.

I forgot to mention, the nearest outlet for power is very far away So i ran the cord all STEALTH like to the box; under rugs and in boxes and shit. Pretty cool and crafty if you asked me. That Orange cord sticking in from the back on the bottom left is the cord. I'll be putting a surge protector to plug in all 3 fans and the 2 ballasts.

if it was mine i would paint it better, it will not reflect as good if you keep it that way

Just get some flat white plastic sheeting, its sold so cheap you can pick up a few meters for practically nothing, if you can't afford mylar that is. White paint fades over time.

Lookin good, got any idea on your exaust system or future plans?

If your room temps are in the 70's I'd be careful crunning Hps lights in that Cab. they get pretty hot.

I can't toally tell from the picture but that comop fan looks pretty tiny.

I would suggest (im no expert) a bigger just to be safe. More air movment never hurts.

is that big enough for the plants in later stages?

Jeah, just start to flower at the right time. It will grow 2-3 times its size once you change to 12/12 so keep that in mind when you begin flowering.

Okay sorry it took forever to get this Log updated. These are some pictures of my Vegetative room and the 4 plants that are growing inside it.It has 3 100W CFL's in it but im thinking about adding Dos mas (two more). I have this room for veg and the big one for flowering and end of veg. I STILL HAVEN'T gotten the HPS lights and am starting to worry if the money situation will allow it to happen. I think I need a 250W HPS from inside sun. They have a sale on it for only $110 + S/H so I think thats what ill go to. If not, WHAT THE HELL AM I TO DO!? Anywho, heres the babies. The biggest ones name is Rhonda The Weed Plant and the yellowish hued pic is Egorette because she looked FUCKED up when she was just little. The leaves were all funky but shes recovering now. The others are Rhonda's little bitches who aren't named yet. Rhonda will be giving a few of her limbs here and there for clones as we progress too.

Settle down, you probably have to make them smaller. Sometimes I have to edit them in MSPaint and resave them, and then they work I dunno why but its messed up.

Its hot in there.. Shit.... I opened the door for the whole day today and hopefully it'll air out quickly.

i think you might need a little ventilation in there soon, get a computer fan, they work perfectly just to move the air around,

He already has a computer fan so if you can get another one or two stick them in there to use as exhaust fans. But even more importantly, those sides will need to go, thats whats giving off all that excess heat.

transparent pots very bad idea, the roots should not see light.

Decided the heat in the mini box was too much so I moved it down to the main grow ox. I put a board on top of screws screwed into the side panels. The board lays on them and the lights are attached to them. Its got a little space in the back so air can be sucked out through the top exit fan. Its doing well and ive seen INSANE improvement by doing this. It's got a fan blowing on it too.

does anyone have any idea what these strains are? My friend bought these seeds from a guy and he said they were a collection of Orange Kush, White Rhino, and AK-47. I think Athena might be Kush and Rhonda may possibly be AK.

Nice setup! I like the compact size but I think you will need more than just interior circulation with an HPS. Maybe a hole in the top back with a fan sucking the heat out. Also in my experience tin foil can create hot spots and with an HPS possibly sporadic burns. I also agree with the clear container theory/fact/whatever you wanna call it. A 400W would definately be too hot for that small space....if you do get it however, do take off the tin foil please! Plants are looking good...I especially like Rhonda. I have now added 3 more CFL's into the box! I have a total of 7 light fixtures each with a bulb of 60-100W in them. Theres roughly 600W of CFL POWER in that damn thing. And because of how open and big and breathable the box is, it doesnt get too hot in there ;) Pretty hella cool

What is the light spectrum on those CFL's? You sure have a lot of them for only 4 small plants, I think you'd get away with even less.. but since you've got them allready I guess the more light the better. How far are you putting them to the lights too? Maybe its hard to tell from the pic but it looks like a bit of a distance. Maybe put something under them to help rise them up a little.

its really only like 4 inches away man. I dont think they need much raising. Plus rhondas getting way to many nodes and not enough space in between. She needs to stretch a little bit.

They've been transplanted today into much bigger pots! They're actually plastic cauldrons that were 22cents each at Wal-Mart on clearance :) Halloweens over now so i put em' to good use ha ha! I picked up a thermometer too so its doing perfect in there ;) 77-79 degrees. Ah I love perfection. Athena is kinda in shock from the transplant. It kinda sucks.

I know nothing about growing weed. I do not even smoke weed. But that looks like a freakin' sweet setup. Kudos to you.

So I added some Ventilation for heat and more reflection for the under growth of my plants. It got up to 91 degrees in there so i had to add some ventilation. The fan at the top of the back panel became the power source for the vaccuum to suck out hot air. The temperature has now lowered back down to a perfect 78 degrees again. ;) I'm getting pretty excited about this grow.

1. The ducting that sucks the hot air out.
2. The fan that blows across the bulbs towards the ducting.
3. What it looks like inside now.
4. What it USED to look like inside there ha ha.
5. The white paper reflectors on the soil.

Just an update on al the Plants!

1. Rhonda- We did some trimming to her. I took off to little leaves so that she didnt waste her energy on trying to fix them and more towards creating more new growth.
2. Athena- Athenas leaves are too big for her to hold up now ha ha! It's beautiful!
3. Egorette- Egorette looks like a monster to me for some reason. She looks like she's always mad and mean. It's great. Her name fits her perfectly lol!
4. Stubs- I can't believe the amount of new growth ive seen on stubs in the past 2 days. He's almost catching up to egorette now! Stubs is a viscious little thing!
