ye i just got some pretty average skunk, its smell is earthy yet grassy like it was picked fresh, bud i just smoked a jay and im feelin quite stoned, so i cant tell really, but usually if your weed stinks its usually very strong.
smoke it
If it has a lot of tricomes(crystals) that means it has a high THC content, which means it is probably very potent.
for me,
if it makes me
- happy
- satisfied
- fun time while high
- and no hangover
then it's awesome weed.
As you gain experience you can tell.. but if you're new the only thing you can really go by is an "exotic" smell, lighter and more limey green is always a plus, and basically the amount of white hairs and orange hairs coming out of the bud.

just do the smoke test.
Green as a bullfrog, sticky as glue! Granted you'll get high yes I do!
Some of the best weed I've gotten has been rock hard, super dense buds that were light green and looked sugar coated. Some straight up sativa that knocked me out.
My rule of thumb on bud: If it smells really poignant, "piney" or "limey", it's gonna be good shit
If it smells like grass it's gonna be decent shit.
If it smells like wet cardboard, it's plain shit. Never buy from that guy again.
The fertilizers being flushed or not doesn't really affect how the herb looks. It affects how it tastes and burns.
smoke it dude :smokin:
The look and smell means nothing, and contary to popular belief crystalls dont mean much either. Only way to tell is to smoke it.
Green bud doesnt mean it hasnt been flushed of ferts, it means it hasnt be cured, or not cured properly.Quote:

Same goes for hairs and unless you have a microscope to examine that shit you'd better just smoke it
If you don't have the oppurtunity to try before you buy, then he's doesn't believe his stuff is good enough for the price. One telltale sign is if there is a lot of stems and seeds, it's not so much the potency but how much actual bud your going to get
As far as that....wet hay like smell doesn't mean its bad weed. Iv bought good looking bud that smelled like that and then I properly finished curing it and it smelled like diesel after....good shit.Quote:
