Well... think about what? Never even heard of it.
its a movie about like reality and shit...
i mean its about a lot of things...but its about our mind and how we think and how the external and internal realities are made up
its got a lot of questions in it..
search for "what the bleep do we know" on any torrent sites
I HAVE THE MOVIE.

like reading only the last chapter of a book...theres some fucked-up shit going on, but you dont know WHY
I haven't watched it, but I've listened to discussions about it, and from what I hear it doesn't really explain quantum mechanics all that well. For instance, I heard the movie said something to the effect that the observer actually has some effect on what he is observing merely by the fact that he is observing it, which is just not true at all. According to the Heisenberg uncertainty principle, we can't know both the position and speed of a particle, but depending on the type of observation done we can figure out either its position or its speed. It does not mean that our observation actually has any effect on the particle's position or speed, and it CERTAINLY does not mean that we can alter reality just by thinking about it (which I heard was also implied in the movie).
There are some issues with this movie for sure, it skews quantum theory to an extent. Also, I have issues with the bit about people's thoughts affecting snowflakes, since the guy who did that experiment refuses to undergo a double blind test to prove he isn't a complete fraud.
That being said, there is no doubt in my mind that our thoughts can indeed affect the matter around us and the movie touches on some very interesting ideas.
Amazing movie.. mad props to the film makers for going out on a limb and making such a unique film...
I thought it could use a bit more work on the sound and color correction.. .... some of the cuts were a bit jumpy..
LOL... just kidding... I just wanted you all to know how funny it is to hear you talk about the "quatum physics" part of the movie....
THE MOVIE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH QUANTUM PHYSICS.. it is only a TOOL to POINT at something that cannot be talked about.. something that can only be pointed at.. SO stop staring at THE FINGER and look at what it is pointing at..

Hmmm. Well, I've had that movie for a LONG time and never have watched it. I think I might have popped it in once and looked, got distracted, rolled a joint, then popped in another movie. I'm gonna have to watch it now! Thanks a lot! Jeeez! hehe j/k
Good point, GK. Very Zen.

Have you seen "The Butterfly Effect"...? Cool movie. And from what I hear, there is a 2nd one. Hmmm. I tend to dislike sequels. Will see...

I find it a bit annoying that everybody I've talked to who saw this movie seems so excited about it they practically make it their religion (as one friend actually described it as). I've really noticed in the past while that people tend to hear one side of an argument and get all excited about it, believing it in full, without ever actually reading up on the counter-arguments. This is the same problem that leads to all the ignorance towards weed and it's illegal status actually. But anyway, just check out the wikipedia article on it and it'll cite tonnes of problems with the movie from real quantum physicists (citation included).
thankfuckingyou mr.Devious, I have a mystic friend who gets all worked up and excited about absolutely rediculous ideas. He has alot of intresting thoughts and then ignores ALL rationality I say to counter it. You just expressed a point in one paragraph ive been trying to get across for a month.Quote:

I don't own it.
But I saw it... at first I was like, hey, what the bleep do we know, afterall, right? But then the movie tried to tell me exactly what we knew, and I believe the movie has a very warped understanding of the scientific method (or even logic in general for that matter)... It makes some, funny, conclusions. Plus, I was confused it was explained through the metaphor of a deaf woman playing basketball, but maybe it was just too deep for me...
Not very educational, or entertaining for that matter.
I shall check it out
