Doing a project for Media - 9/11 being Bush's Reichstag Fire

So, for my practical project for Media we are allowed to either do coursework on:

Advertising and Marketing
Film and Genre
Documentary

The thing I love about this, is that we are allowed to choose ANY field we want for any of the topics. I chose documentary, and I was thinking about doing a project on Muslims/Islam and how it is being singled out in todays society following 9/11 and 7/7.
BUT, I changed my mind. Instead, I have chosen to write a documentary about how terrorism is a total farce; made up to scare the public and allow draconian laws to be passed. A large part of this project will be comparing George W. Bush to Adolf Hitler, of which there are numerous similarities. The main one is how Hitler, during the 1930's, blamed the Jews for every problem that Germany faced, eventually brainwashing the majority of the population and leading to the near extintion of the Jewish race. George Bush and Tony Blair are also trying to do this, by essentially drilling the fact into our heads that every single Muslim is evil, and Islam is Satan. We are unaware of it, but each day I hear more and more people telling me how Muslims are to blame for terrorism and that Islam preaches hate.

So, considering Im in the U.K. and will be comparing both Bush and Blair to Hitler (mainly Bush though, Blair is just his lap-dog), is there anything I should be careful writing about in this project? I understand that it is an extremely controversial piece of coursework, but fuck it, I was born controversial :)

I was just in Washington, D.C., and saw practically no police, no army, no anti-Muslim hysteria, or anything else that you suggest. Yes, was a war in Iraq - but it's very unpopular right now with the public.

If you think that "terrorism is a total farce", I feel sorry for you.

There is no "Jewish Race". Judaism is a religion.

Bush and Blair have never "drilled" anything against Islam into our heads. They are far less against Islam, and other religions, than I am.

Islam is a hateful religion, but you'd have to read portions of the Koran, and it's directives, to understand that.

Here my take on Muslims.

I dont think i can use the word hate for them, but i dont trust them, and its all of them.

I know, i know, i shouldnt tar all of them with the same brush, but when people from their religion start flying planes into buildings and blowing up our underground [I WAS THERE WHEN IT HAPPENED] you cant help but think, why are they aloud in OUR country.

I mean, look at it this way, what other religion has suicide bombers, or people willing to fly jets into buildings, just got kill us.

I know i should only be angry with the fanatic muslims, but like i said, i dont trust any of them. I mean, they are taking over England, not only muslims, but immigrants in general.

They get into our country illegally, take our jobs, use our health care, waste our tax money, and then go and kill a handful of us.

THIS is why almost ALL of the younger generations are racist towards Muslims, and blame everything on them.

[But in the way of bombs, and suicide bombers it IS all them]

Now, there is a big differnce in HATING and not trusting them, so dont look at me as a racist, belive me, im bloody well not.

It appears that some of the 'brainwashing' you suspect has worked on some of the people around here.

If you want to do a comparison documentary, try Bush and Nixon - that's what several are speculating around here. Specifically, Bush's abuse of executive power, unchecked.

I know many Muslims, and none of them are terrorists. They are hard working, legal members of the community. Yes, there are extremeists, which were involved with terrorism, but not all of them. There are extremeists around in any religion. Many of them got Bush elected. Many of them are fighting against stem cell research, and make the US one of the only civilized countries who promote creationism instead of evolution.

In the US, we have a variety of immigrants, all taking up resources here, not just Muslims. One has to consider, though, if they weren't coming here to take advantage of those resources and seek a better life .... would they be building another North Korea?

No, the point im trying to make, is THEY, the ILLEGAL immigrants, are comming to our country, taking our jobs, using our health care, funded by our TAX money and how do they repay us? They go blowing holes in our country.

I hear where your comin' from on this but we CAN'T judge an entire culture by the doings of a few assholes. We have immigration problems here in the U.S. with people coming in illegally from Mexico. There is also alot of crime which is related to these folk, MS13 is a good example. Jobs being sold out to lower wage employees, etc...........

But fact is there are MANY fine people of latin origins also here in the U.S. that lead productive lives and are excellent members of the community.

Look at it this way once.........a man gets hauled in by the cops for murder and the find an ounce of bud on him. THIS is definately on the news and kind of insinuates that pot smokers are crazy killers. WE know different, but there are a few crazy asses out there that create that type of stereotype on us.

OK, so they havent publicly stated this... yet... but, they have brainwashed the majority of the Western World into thinking this. Muslims attacked us on 9/11 and 7/7. Each month I see at least one story in a newspaper or on TV about either foiled terrorist plots, a terrorist facing trial, or something else related to terror/muslims. As we all know, the government controls the media (and if you dont, I have been taught this by all three of my Media tutors). By doing all this, Bush and Blair HAVE drilled it into our heads that the Islamic religion and all Muslims are evil. When you walk down the street, how do you differentiate between a harmless, charity donating, law-abiding muslim and the extremist? You cant, until you see a coloured person shout 'Allah Akhbar' and you know that the shit has hit the proverbial fan.

Media may or may not be controlled by the gov. in the U.K. but it isn't here in the states. How many papers have been shut down in your country like what happens in countries like Iran and N. Korea? Our media may swing to the left or the right but you'll also see reports about gov. officials that would NEVER be tolorated in the above countries mentioned. You can't tell the difference.........and likewise when I see a group of teens walking with their pants hangin' off their asses I don't know if their bangers or not either. You can either live your life thinking that either gang bangers, or Muslim extremists, or that the government is out to get ya; or you can chill down and assume the best of people untill proven different.

Comparing Bush and Blair to Hitler though is really a stretch. Blair has announced that he will be stepping down and Bush is over in "08".......where's the comparison in that? What group of people is being rounded up and shipped in train cars in either country?

Actually, most of the July 7th bombers (except the Jamaican one) were born right here in the UK making them British.

I know a lot of immigrants in my area, many are "illegal". Some of them are my friends. They are so desperate for jobs, that they were prepared to die in the long journey to get here. They are paid low wages, and exploited, doing the jobs that nobody else seemed to want. They didn't steal any fucking jobs. They just work hard, and send some of the money they make back home to their families. They also pay tax. I therefore have nothing but respect for them. If a few of them start fucking around, I don't judge all immigrants by the actions of a few.

Anyhow Tom, you're on to something but starting to go down the wrong path. Terrorism isn't a total farce. It was Muslim extremists who flew those planes into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon. This type of threat is a genuine threat that needs to be taken seriously. Don't start listening to GS, Pissy, and all the other conspiracy kooks out there or you'll become one yourself.

Instead, point out how Bush used the fear generated by the terrorist attacks to further his own agenda, get us into Iraq (where the terrorists weren't) and out of Afghanistan (where the terrorists are), and get himself re-elected. Just remember, George W Bush didn't cause 9/11, he just shamelessly took advantage of it.

And you want to make sure you're credible with those facts, which the conspiracists' various stories are not. Their stories differ from person to person and time to time and are easily disprovable myths. They've been disproven repeatedly. Remember, you also want to come off as a sane and intelligent person in this essay. So you'll want to start from a sane and intelligent position.

Muslims are 'rounded up' on a daily basis, charged with terrorist offenses and then a few months later released, having no charges pressed because of insufficient/lack of evidence. However, it is the 'rounding up' that makes me start to think that Bush and Blair are just another two Hitlers in the making. We are starting to blame all our problems on muslims and Islam, and thats exactly how the holocaust started, except the Germans were blaming all their difficulties on the Jews.
It would be extremely sad if all muslims were branded as 'enemy combatants' (Bush just has to sign the Military Comissions Act - HR6166 - to enable him to have the authority to declare anyone he wishes an enemy combatant). If it came to it, I would even house and hide muslims to prevent them from being interrogated and/or killed. But, hopefully, that will never happen :)

P4B, George Bush IS ABOVE THE LAW. He signed a spending bill a few months ago for around $2 billion, that hadnt even passed through congress. This officially makes him above the law... and as we all know, dictators consider themselves above the law. Bush has had a taste of power, now he has a thirst for power.
Birdgirl, whatever your view on GS is, Im afraid that I agree with everything he says. I have done my own research over many hours and countless nights, and I have come to the same conclusion - 9/11 was an inside job. Bush did not only have foreknowledge of it, he ran the entire operation. Why were there training drills on that same day, depicting the exact same events at the exact same locations at the exact same time? Coincidence? Maybe, but then it happened again in London on 7/7. Terror drillis, at the exact same times, with the exact same trains, in the exact same locations... even with the number 30 bus in Tavistock Square. The number 30 bus doesnt even pass through, or go anywhere near Tavistock Square! Bush is not the only person to blame...

However, I dont think that Bush will be the dictator that we will all fear. The American economy is literally on the brink of collapse (see http://www.alkalizeforhealth.net/Ldebtclock.htm). There is a person/s above Bush, who has planned all this out extremely carefully, using Bush as a proxy to carry out his evil deeds. Republicans will be voted into power again, and when the time comes where the nation is sick of Bush (very soon), he will appear and promise to fix all these problems swiftly. This person will then be voted in, fix all the problems that the Western World would be facing, and everyone would view him as a true leader. That person will be the true dictator, but only after gaining the publics trust.
Thats just my theory though, and Im still going to go through with my original idea. I dont care if I fail the couse, at least in the process I will be 'waking' several people up to the future.

Nobody should have to live life in any fear of another man.
I seriously don't believe that is the nature of humans, some would say it is. Perhaps it was the way i was raised but i've always taken what was told to me with a grain of salt.
I understand that this distrust comes from the fact that a handful of religious fanatics and the feelings that followed those unforgetable days but they are nothing more than that, "religious fanatics". They obviously did not follow the true teachings of Islam because it's obvious that the religion is misunderstood even by its own followers. I can recall G.W.B saying something about "god commanding this war". Certainly makes it sound like a holy war...
Anyone can be fanatical about any religion. It's taking religion to an entirely different level. Fanaticals don't know what they're doing is exactly against the religion they're "following" because the people leading them fail to tell them that or they fail to acknowledge that thier interperation of it is wrong.
To much emphasis is put on what bible these people read..when the fact still remains that people from all religions commit terrorist acts.
