Why God does not exist, in one sentence.

Okay guys, I have been posting on this forum of recent, but have yet to start a thread of my own. So just for the fun of it, I decided to do so. Here goes my question.

If you were asked to state the one thing that you feel the strongest as to why God does not exist what would you say? I'm not looking for an entire paragraph. Just give me your strongest feeling in one sentence. Thanks for playing :thumbsup:

Examples:
God does not exist cause I have never seen him.
God does not exits cause there's no peace on Earth.

God could not exist because his nature (being all- good –powerful and-knowing) are incompatable with our world, which is full of evil

This is, the problem of evil

God does not exist because if he did, he would never allow all this killing in his name to continue.

God does not exist because his 'rules' make many good people unhappy (depending on the religion: unallowing divorce, gay marriage, birth control, premarital sex, etc... not to mention persecuting people of other religions eg. pagans back in the day).:mad:

Because god never existed.

God does exist. And, one day, "the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea."

God does not exist becuase god is an Idea, there is no proof of him yet and I doubt there ever will be.

God cannot exist because if she did, she would by definition be an absolute.

And there are no absolutes. Well, except that one I suppose. Or... shucks.

We're going to need a team of bomb-squad pro's to defuse this nuclear shit bomb.

My one sentence answer:

Remember, God (or by whatever name you call the force/energy responsible for all of creation) is beyond comprehension by our relatively small and puny intellects. In order to relate to such an incomprehensible/unimaginable energy we create personifications such as God(s), angels, ect. All these concepts, whether you realize it or not, are of one and the same.

By taking the personifications too far and personally we create human fallacies which are incompatible with logic and science.

God will love you all no matter what you guys/gals say :D ...

God does exist for the simple reason that we have the idea/thought of perfection

as the saying goes: "it doesn't matter if you don't believe in God, because HE believes in you" ... and in the 'End', "every knee shall bend, every head shall bow, and know Jesus Christ is Son of the Living God " ... :)

God did not create Man- Man created God.

God does not exist- no perfect god would "allow" a human race to fuck up as badly as they did because think about how bad that listing would be on his cosmic resume...

No one would hire someone based on their failure, even though they "tried real hard," yet fucked it up so badly.

well you might be right but there is no way for anyone to know what happens for sure but what i do know is i am myself as a soul that exists now but what troubles my mind is i have no idea what will happen to my soul when i die even if we disappear forever we still have to be somewhere right?? <<you cannot answer that question only god himself can do that but it doesnt matter because he does not exist in our lives.

so what im getting at is there is no way to know the answer to this kind of questions you just have to wait and see

"we" don't have to be anywhere actually. So far as we know, the human condition is nothing but a collection of billions of physical and mental processes. When the person dies, those processes all break down and the intricate system falls apart, and "we" fall apart into the decaying matter with everything else in existence. Just as if we took a car apart and returned all it's components back to the earth to the elemental level, the car would no longer exist.

Nobody can definatively answer any question in regards to a process unseen, as scientifically minded people would leave open the possibility of absolutely anything. A schizophrenic knows beyond a doubt that his beliefs about the government stealing his organs are true. I wish people would stop being convinced of something because they "just know... deep down... it's too convincing not to be true". man this is really a mind boggling topic ever since ive read this thread i keep thinking we dont really have souls but then i think thats impossible because i know im here now. and now mr devious has to belive that we fade into the ground well im not beliving anything until it happens.

i kind of suspect that reincarnation is the only answer

God is a concept that we, the most advanced animals on this planet, have conjured up to help us accept the fact that we are far too early in our development to even understand the most fundamental things about our universe.

I just wrote that for the fun of the answering the question. We cannot comprehend the truth yet. And, at our current level of knowledge, we cannot know if there is or is not a god. And there is no proof for either argument. Therefore I believe that the only reasonable answer to the question of whether there is a god or not is....maybe. Agnosticism is the only thing that seems to make sense to me.

God was created about the time we evolved with the ability to form abstractions

God can't exist because if he/she did it would be one big contradiction.

I mean he/she knows every decision we will make in our lives right?... Then why does he/she claim to let us decide which route we will take in life? Obviously it is a lie because our decisions would have already been made if he/she knew them all already.

This is a difficult Idea for a lot of people, (just death in general) This is what Socrates said on the night before his death, a friend of his came to visit him in â??jailâ?� and offered to break him out. He was on trail basically for practicing philosophy.

He said, (not a quote as it was in Latin, just the jist)

When I die I see two options,
The first is that I enter an endless sleep without dreams
The second is that some part of me will continue on with other dead people (heaven)
Neither of these are undesirable
So why should I fear death

And the next day he was put to death.

God doesn't exist because no being of divinity would create other beings just to kill them and punish them in hell for eternity for the choices that he made for them.

Life and death are both illusions. Everything is just energy. When we die, our energy just becomes something else.

god does not exsist because really, no religion makes enough sense to prove this. most religions that have to do with a god are saying there is some spirit that just created everything, out of nothing at all. as if this entire universe is controlled by a person. and heaven and hell, i dont think ur spirit goes anywhere or anything like that. ur dead, your dead and its the end of you. if there was a heaven or a hell, it would be just a state of mind when you pass away, and thats even if u have a state of mind. i honestly think humans are not the superior race, on earth maybe, but i highly doubt we are the only planet out of the entire universe to ahve life. i have more to say.. im trying to cut it short tho. sorry for havin more than a sentence.. im pretty fucekd up and i would have just suffered for the next 3 hours because i held back my main points.. lol
