Abusing the plant...

I realized something the other day, I have a very addictive personality. Or maybe it is that I think this world is a shit hole and just need to escape at night. Either way, I need to be fucked up on something at night. Generally speaking, I stay sober throughout the day, but once 11pm-12am comes around I'm lighting up a bowl. It's not because I'm addicted to weed or anything, I'm simply addicted to escaping into my own world. If I'm out of weed or can't find any for a while, I get very annoyed, not because I'm addicted, but rather I'm pissed I have to get drunk if I want to escape. I used to drink a whole lot until I started smoking canabis more, now I drink a few beers or glasses of wine a week.

So I have realized that I would much rather smoke 2-3 bowls of weed a night than down 8 beers every night. It's my opinion that people like me who really enjoy getting fucked up every night because it helps get through each day need to turn to cannabis.

I guess what I realized is that if I'm going to be using something in excess it may as well be pot considering it is the safest of the vices.

Yeah, I don't see much wrong with smokin' cannabis to excess, as long as it gets you high enough to forget what a shit hole the world is.

I hear you man, except I'm not in a great fall of depression that makes me crave drugs as an escape like you seem to be. Although, drugs are fun; and knowing that I will condone in them considering there is a drug that has no side affects which give it no reason to not be used.

i used to think exactly as you are until the beginning of this year, i used to get really snappy if i didnt have any bud for more than a day i used to smoke as soon as i opened my eyes in the morning every 30 mins until i fell asleep at 3 the next morning every day for over a year, then slowed to just twice a day during the week and all day at the weekend. now its only 3 times during the week and all weekend n it all good! i just had to realise the world is a shit hole but its not that bad, there are probably more good people out there than fukwits, we dont have a choice being here so might as well make the most of it!:stoned:

I am alcoholic, but pot keeps me off the booze. Keep off the booze- it will wreck your life and possibly the lives of those you love. Get a vaporizer to protect your lungs. Your toking is likely to be a lifetime affair, so think long term. There is something we crave in our very souls and, lucky for us, pot can satisfy that craving. People like us are going to be using "something" (drugs, religion, sex, gambling, sports, risk-taking, etc) and it may as well be an easy to grow plant that is relatively harmless. As for the world? It IS a mess, but there is still truth and beauty out there. Try to spread truth and beauty to make the world more the way it is supposed to be. The world is changed one person at a time.

I agree with you, I owe a few thousand dollars from a credit card I applied for on campus thanks to gambling. Always playing a little more just to break even. I've drank nearly everyday for a while and my personality is the reason I would never try coke or any of that. Weed I can afford, I can funtion with it, and I can easily give it up if I notice I'm falling out of touch. It is the only thing I'm able to abuse by will. Does that make sense? I agree there are many beatiful things in this world, I'm just sick of alway's hearing about a 10 year old girl getting raped or a mentally retarded kid being chased down in the streets of NOLA becase some shit head gangbangers think it is funny. Him knocking on door after door trying to get help but everyone being to goddamn afraid to open their door and than proceeding to get shot several times. I hardly ever watch the news and rarely know what is going on because I'm sick of hearing about the evil shit people are doing. Leaders of countries down to the working class and further down to those who never work and simply feed off those who do.

I am glad im a toker not a drinker. So many friends do the dumbest shit and very dangerous shit when they go drinkin. Me? Im harmless to those around my and to my self as I burn herb and analyze my life. I used to snort my ritalin and shit and my life just became fucked up, but then when i switched to herb, life became wonderfull again. After smoking enough bud all summer now im cooling it down and feeling fine. I think addiction is when you cant stop doing somthing that you want to stop or need to. Pot for me is somthing I just dont want to stop doing, at least for good, and my lifes going nowhere but up. Of course when your going nowhere in life cuz your high all the time, I think thats the point to slow it down. But when life is too much, I always have that place in my head to go, and the herb is the key that opens to door to that place! :rasta:

Yeah man, i do the same thing. As far as i'm concerned the only good thing in my life is my gf and everything else in the world sucks. So, pretty much everyday i turn to pot to put me into a more positive and more happy world. It works, it's fairly harmless, and it makes me feel great. The world does suck but people get through it one way or another. As for us stoners, we use pot and atleast it's the safest drug out there. Go mary jane!! :smokin:
