Iv got this thing about not lighting the whole bowl, but just an edjge of it so that theres still fresh green for anyone else im smoking with. More specificly, hold the lighter under the edjge of the bowl and suck it over. But my friend got pissed at this suggestion and thaught that I was just being dumb. My question is do any of you practice lighting just a corner of the bowl, as opposed to torching the whole thing from above?
if im low on weed, and wit my friends then ill corner it for my friends. but if i got like a eighth, fuck it ima torch it
Definitly a nice gesture but if u have the weed keep packing green on for anyone else who wants it
when passing the bowl around, we usually corner the bowl so more people can have a bit of a green hit
Yeah man, nothin' wrong cornering it. I smoke by myself, but I still corner all the time, I don't like to waste it just cause I have it. And on occasions I will torch it, and have lighten the thing on fire for a good 5 seconds (I was too busy hitting it to put it out) and I'm sure that wasted a few hits...makes it throw of smoke like a mofo!
If your friends don't mind though, and its not your weed, might as well torch it and waste their weed since they don't care.
i smoke the bowl like a rose, i just burn one petal thin piece at a time, and spiral towrds the center, my friends all do this and i learned this from them
i always corner the bowl, and it's almost always my weed too, so i do it just to be nice
We usually just pack snappers.
It's a nice thing to do, though, if you're packing fat bowls to go around. The true stoners are the considerate ones.
The idea would be not to over light the bowl so excess smoke escapes.. so cornering would be a good technique. You only have to hold the lighter on for a short period of time, a lot of people waste so much weed and dont even know it.

on a tiny bowl, ill just hit it. a normal sized bowl though, ill corner it. i do like to leave some green for other ppl. but i also always rotate green hits so everybody can get one.
You know what pisses me off? When they not only flame the whole bowl, they fucking TORCH IT. Something like 70? or maybe 30? percent of the thc is normally destroyed by heat when smoking. Guess what happens when you friggin flame-thrower the entire bowl for 15 seconds?
ive never cornered but i think now i will start seeing as how many could possibly be offended by it. i try to be considerate but no one has ever told me this before or confronted me about it so I dont really think it offends anyone around here
Ha ha! I fucking hate that shit too. My one buddy doesn't know how to light a bowl and he does just that. He'll hold the lighter there while inhaling, torching the entire thing. It drives me nuts! :pQuote:

Just pack individuals. Its been a while since i've just packed a bong and passed it around. Anyone who understands how a vaporizor works, knows why individual packings are the best.
Think about it. A flame is roughly 800 degrees and thc vaporizes at around 350. After one hit 85% of the thc is out of the bowl.
Even though the corner method is a bit better then the norm. Individuals are really the way to go. Once you switch methods you'll never go back i promise you.

yeah I used to torch it back when i was a nooby booby but my friends taught me well....everytime im smokin someone up and they light the whole bowl for like 10 seconds so much frustration builds up inside....and im just thinkin "mannn"
I usually dont try to explain to them how to corner though because im high and i dont ever feel like it

This is one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to smoking. I seriously cannot understand people that leave the flame on the bowl for longer than a few seconds.
But even worse than people that do that are the people that light the bowl when its already cherried. Seriously, WTF?!??! Why would anyone even think of doing that? This guy I lived in the dorms with freshman year did that EVERY SINGLE TIME. I finally stopped smoking with him because it would be a buzzkill to see him do that. It bothered me that much. And nothing really ever bothers me enough to get furious.

Yea, lighting a cherryed bowl is a huge buzzkill for me. Or people who dont hold their hits at least 7 seconds...but that more of a personal thing for me, i just like to get every last molecule of THC in me...shits expensive gotta get ur moneys worth! :stoned:
