Thumbs up for lightbulb vapes!

I would just like to vouch for the quality of home made lightbulb vapourizers. I made one out of a 40w bulb, and a 100w bulb, they both work great. When i inhale, my throat no longer bitches at me. When I exhale, I see nothing but the cold air, and I smell nothing but a hint of burning. The high is less stupifying than if smoked, yet just as pleasurable, if not more. It is easier to get out of bed the next morning than if I smoked it.

I don't believe i am inhaling any harmful chemicals. The lightbulb doesn't get much hotter than if it were operating as a lightbulb, and therefore it should emit the same "harmful gasses" (if any) as it does when its in my desk lamp. It was a frosted bulb that I cleaned out.

Why would wattage matter?

I'll vouch for em' too. The high IS different, but if you want a new safer way to toke (and pretty close to smellless) then I say go ahead and try one.

i made one, but i cant get the flame the right distance away. its always either to close and burns the stuff, or its too far away and dosent heat it up

I always use light bulb vabes, they work great, very efficent, and most importantly, get you fucking stoned. Great for hash too.

Besides, who knows what toxious fumes those glass coatings put off once heated?

I've been thinking more and more about purchasing a vaporizer.
My preferred method of smoking has always been blunts. However, due to years of cigarette smoking my lungs are screwed. I can't smoke a blunt without hacking up portions of my innards. :mad:

But yeah. Light bulb vapes are definitely neat.

I'm not too worried about chemicals, I'm pretty sure thats why you put the salt in it and swish it around so that it becomes clear. They work great too, like, I was a bit sketchy about it at first...but after I got high after half of .1g I was a believer!

Only thing is...when I do it, I burn the weed. Sometimes it even cherrys on me, so I'm not sure if I'm really doing it right... Either way, gets me high, and it seems more effective. Also I don't really blow out smoke, but a few hits have a lil smoke when it really starts to burn.

dude, just go to your science room(if your ahigh school or colledge student) and steal a test tube, and take a tourch, and heat up the closed off part(the bottum) with a porpane torch, and blow a bubble or bulb on the end, and then take a dremal, and drill a small hole in the side, or go to a head shop, and ask for a "chinesse incence(SP?) burner"

I tried it a while back, but I felt like marijuana deserves better then to be smoked like crystal meth. It's like smoking out of a rose stem or some shit.

Hmmm. Sounded good at first glance. I've smoked from a Volcano vaporizer before and it was ok. I smoked some Shiva tho and it was so spicy, honestly it made me almost cough out a lung. I believe it had a lot to do with the spiciness of the cannabis and it was tickling my thoat. I haven't had the opportunity to try it with a different strain, but I plan to. I also dont really like the bulkiness of it either. Its very large. I prefer small colored and designed glass pipes, or roll it up. I thought a nice cheap way to make it would be nice, but then again, like several have said, you dont wanna look like a crackhead, now do ya?! Booooo.

ESPECIALLY for all you youngins. If you get caught, you must look natural, not crouched down in a corner burning a lightbulb...eww. YOU DRUGGIE!!!, they will say. But, hey, I'm an adult and own my own place so if I might try it just to see how it works. I definitely wont keep the thing around tho. Once and that's it. Screw it. I broke the bulb. Thankfully it was inside a leather bag which i dropped, so I didn't need to get out a dustpan while i was high. But it does look like a meth pipe, and I do end up using as much weed as when I smoke out of something else, and it is big, and takes some skill to smoke from.

Really, the only two advantages about a lightbulb vape are the reduction of smell, and the ease on the lungs. Great when paranoid about neighbors and such.

2 question about that video...does anyone know what that red thing was he stuck in the cap? and did he put one or two holes in the top? it looked like there was a big one for the red thing, and a smaller one, although that doesnt make a lot of sense to me...

I've smashed mine. If you get the flame at the right height, for the right amount of time, you can get wicked hits, that get you stoned off small amounts of weed, but, the burnt stuff tastes so gross, plus, half the fun of smoking is the smoking itself, don't you love chillin' with a pipe or joint?

yeah i tried it with my rents downstairs sleeping. At first i thought it was cool but the next day i felt kind of pathetic like the lighter and bulb like what the above posters where saying about it looking like smoking meth.

The smoke even to i found tasted really chemical. dosn't have the feel of smoking weed. So i decided that if i'm in a situation where i'd need to go and like 'freebase' my weed just to get high, i should probably just do something else and not let it control me.

well it was cool until after i finished using it for the third time, was high as fuck, dropped it and it shattered soooo bad...lightbulbs fly EVERYWHERE..totally killed my buzz sweeping glass

I made one about a week ago, If you hold the flame about a half inch under the bulb(where it doesn't actually touch the bulb) it tastes REALLY good, so much better than actually incinerating pot. However if you hold the flame right on the bulb the pot will actually cherry and burn.

No idea... I made mine from a bulb I found in the kitchen over the stove... Not sure if the packaging would have that kind of info or not. I'm thinking about seeing if I can buy some bulbs online though... Maybe there is an online supplier that sells lead free bulbs.

When smoking from a homemade vaporizer be real sure the glass is lead free. Most glass HAS lead in it cause it is cheaper. Usually the only glass that is lead free is the more expensive glass used for cups and other items people are expected to drink out of.

oh shit.

ok, i can't find anything about lightbulbs having lead in the glass. The only lead is in the contacts, which we don't smoke. Wouldn't lead be more expensive than glass? Isn't that why crystal (lead glass) costs more than regular glass?

Yo man, I wish I could give you an intelligent answer... But I'm completely fucked up atm.

All I can say is I know two people that use to blow glass for a hobby. Both told me they had to buy special glass when blowing something that was going to be drunk out of or smoked from. One of those people, my little brother, gave the whole explanation... Sadly I cant seem to remember any of it.
