New beans have arrived... but what are they?
Someone told me that these things will grow into trees! - WoW, I'm gonna have these in my garden - maybe five or so, I have the space.
what do you think they are? wanna post some pictures of strange seeds?

those are called chestnuts my friend they grow into these huge tress they also make great artillery for a slingshot :)
those are BUCKEYES, not chestnuts ... :D

Yes. The small one is an acorn. From a Post Oak or some type of Oak. Southern USA possibly.

well they look alot like conkers to me, horse chestnuts have little spiky hairs on one end and arent quite as round and shiny but, dracula knows best...

Hey Hall, you ever make Indian soft cheese? It's ridiculously easy and goes awesome with spinach, cinnamon, and cilantro. You just take a gallon of whole milk, a pinch of salt, bring it almost to a boil, squeeze in the juice of one lemon, stir until fully curdled, then pour into a dish towel in a strainer and put a weight on it for a few hours. Cheesecloth doesn't seem to work, you have to use a flour-sack towel.

Horse chestnuts ARE spiky.
But when you break the spiky shell open the things inside lokk just like that, and may generically be referred to as conkers, as may proper edible chestnuts.

The Common Horse-chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) is a large deciduous tree, native to a small area in the mountains of the Balkans in southeast Europe, mainly in Albania, but also locally in northeastern Bulgaria (Preslavska Mountains), northern Greece and Macedonia.
