I have a problem and i need some advice

Well guys i have been posting here for a while now. I am in a situation where i would like some advice. I am starting to date a girl that i really like but she doesnt want me to do ANY drugs. I am on probation at the moment so i do things like salvia and trip shrooms... She wants me to not do any drugs at all. Even smoke bud when i get off probation. I want to stay with her but i go to things like Burning Man and Bonnaroo every year. I cant change my whole life and friend set just for a girl but i dont want to leave her. Any advice?

She likes Me. Just not the Drug part about me.

But if your a toker then that is part of who you are. I dont know if I am go be with someone they have to accept all of me or none at all. I guess I just got lucky and have an understanding wife. Just my two cents though

If I had a girl who wanted me to quit smoking pot, I couldn't be with her. Sounds like a boring life to me. No more bong hits with your buddies, instead, you sit around on a Friday night, around the dinner table, and you know what you do at dinner time...you talk about your day! Or, lets go to her friends house and totally forget about your friends because she doesn't approve, and play pictionary and scrabble.

Pot is fun, fun = happiness, so why fix it if it ain't broke. There are more fishies in the sea and there are plenty of good looking ladies out there who puff weed like a chimney. I say find yourself a girl who shares the same interests, or, tell her to accept that is what you do. She can have her friends and cocktails, you have the reefer. :thumbsup:

First off thanks a lot for the advice. Second what you are all telling me makes a lit of sense. I love to toke but not all people approve of that i guess. I will just have to talk to her and tell her that i love to smoke bud and that is part of me. I dont want to give that up neither do i want to give her up! What a delima! Thanks again for the advice.

This seems to be a huge problem with alot of my buddies.

I say talk to her. If you smoked alot like everyday see if you will talk her into letting you smoke weed mayby a couple times a week. Or if she smokes ciggs. and you dont make that an issue.

had the same thing with my girl. now we only smoke together. just either find something you don't like about her and compromise, or just be like "i won't do any other drugs, just weed, it's harmless" and compromise, or tell her you will smoke less...

Dont let her change you. If she doesnt like what you do then thats her problem let her deal with it.

i know bud is a good man. But i like to do other stuff sometimes. I never get tired of bud thou. I dont feel i need to change i like how i am. So i guess she will have to deal or leave... dont want to be harsh but i am the most happy when i am smoking with my friends.

yo don't let bud get in the way of a relationship, it's a plant, a relationship involves a person. I'm pro-pot but i do think that if you really like this girl, then you could take a break, or maybe do it behind her back, just don't let it become a problem or anything.

thats the spirit dude. If she really wants to be with you, she will accept that its part of what you do.

I guess you have to ask yourself how much of yourself is integrated with drugs? I dont think its quite as unreasonable to ask your significant other to stop trippin and shit if they really didnt want you to, but bud...well It seems like thats really part of who you are. Theres the possibility that she will find somthing else about you she wants to change, and then somthing else...Its rather controlling. So i guess you have to wiegh her against your hobbys and/or sacraments and make the decision if she cant make the concession... also the more your with her the less you will feel like getting buzzed or tippin...so it kind of works itself out that way. If you feel its essential to your happiness though theres two things that apply: a)you have a problem habit (which probably isnt the case) or b) it really is somthing your passionate enough about that depriving yourself of would cause unhappiness. If 'b' is the case, then id say she should make the concession for the relationship or it wont work out. Watever happens, don't look back in regret, just learn, go forward, and if you can...spark a fat J! :rasta:

Guys i want to thank each and everyone of you for what you have told me. it is all very insiteful. I am thinking long and hard about this decision. When i tell her how i feel and she tells me what she thinks i will report back. Talk to you all later.

yea its not really good for her to criticize something that she has never experienced. and basing her critisizime on the BS laws in place is not justifiable. i think u should look up the documentary by the history channel called "Hooked: illegal drugs and how they got that way" look for the episode on marijuana. it explains why pot was made illegal and the truth. it was done for political purposes and racism and fear simple as that. show her that video and if she doesnt see the truth the she is ignorant.

well how long have you guys been dating? a person is way more important then weed.. but what ones makes you happier.. could you see yourself smoking without her in 20 yrs.. or being with her n' not smoking???

hey trauma .... every good relationship takes compromise. help her 2 understand that. let her know it is also used for medicinal purposes and that it can't be that bad. Of course, not saying "u" need it for that reason, but most of the time ppl fear things only bcuz they don't understand them. good luck
