Ok thanks man so on comes another question...my plants just started their 4th week of veg yesterday adn they are only about 5 inches tall maximum and just starting their 5th set of leaves...so amidoing something wrong becuase it seems that everyonesplants are like 4 times the size of mine at this point and if ur wondering im using a cfl light.

The CFL light is probably the reason depending on the wattage. For some, shorter is better. What kind of nutes are you feeding?
If your plant is looking healthy then it is probably doing good and you have nothing to really wory about. You can only do so much with the lighting you have. Also, are you growing from seed or clone? Clones will grow shorter than seeds.
I use 6 23w CFL's for seeds and early veg and then after 2 weeks I put them under a 1K at about 4 weeks they can be up to 18 inches, but if from clone they can be about 12 to 15 inches. I just swiched to a 175 MH for early veg so I will have to see how they do.

I use one 42 watt cfl at the moment cuz thats all i could get right now with the money situation but the nutes im feeding it came with the hydro kit i bought there like micro, grow and bloom. And im growing from seed.My plants look healthy...leaves sem to be growing and a green..had a little problem earlier in the grow with a little nute burn but i fixed that problem.

It is probably the light. How far are you keeping it from the plant? Also, it is a seed or clone?

Im keepin the light like 3 or 4 inches from the top of the plant at all times and its from seed no clones. This is my first grow of northern light seeds and for some reason everyone is tellin me its the light but i cant go to ne store around here and get the light i need with the blue light spectrum. So if you could help me out here that would be kewl...like on how to make growth faster or wat type of lights i can get from a store that i can use etc. be much apreciated.

To put it simply, you need more light. I find it odd that no where near you sells cool blue CFLs. You can order them off the internet. Get some red spectrum "warm white" (~2700k) bulbs for flowering while your at it.

Ok so how many gfls should i invest in for both cool and warm since i already have 1 42 watt cool and 1 42 watt warm.

hahaha sorry i ment to type cfls but iunno it didnt work to good sorry bout that lol

I would throw the warm in right now if that is all the light you have. It will help out some.
Do you have a Wally Mart around? They sel 23w cool CFL's 6500 all day. Get about 4 or 5. Also, you could look for a local lighting or hardwhere stor.

yea i called the local wal mart but i have no idea how to find the lights that give off the blue light...cuz the had no idea wat i was talkin bout when i asked them so wat would i say or wat would i look for then at wally world?
-
A little light research.
They will usually have the spectrum temperature on the package: 6500 K for vegging (often referred to as Cool White or blue) or 2700 K for flowering (referred to as Warm White or red). I just got some of both at Walmart so I know they have them.

alright cuz yea i jsut asked if they had cfls that were in the blue spectrum so they prolly didnt know wat i was talkin bout so...if i go there just pick up cool white with a spectrum temp of 6500k.

First ask where the Compact Florescent lights are or find them on your own. The highest you will probably find with the 6500K spectrum is 23W. They may say "Spring Cool or Spring Warm." If you cant find the K on the box, try to look at the bulb it should say. Sometimes you have to grab a differant box because the bulb is facing away from you and you can't see the writing.
Hope all this helps.

Yes all this does help becuase i really need to get more light and if walmart is the place to get em im all for it.

Oh one more question..if i do find these lights at wally world how many of them should i get to get a nice growth rate from em...and will these lights from wally world give of the same blueish light as the cfl light i already have or will it be a different color?
-
A little light research.
I would get 4 or 5 more, and yes they will put off the same spectrum you already have if you have 6500K.
