The notion that hydro is synonymous with high quality is flawed. It simply means they were grown in a liquid medium instead of soil. Growing w/ hydro is something you should only try if you know what you're doing, soil is the best bet for the novice grower, as it is harder to poison your plants as fast as hydro. A plant is affected by the environment it is grown in, if it is stress free, it will achieve the maximum result allowed by it's genetics. But is also limited by those same gentics, some strains are just better than others, regardless of what medium they are grown in.
Hope that helps
Peas out :D
Thats all i needed. I knew what the fuck i wa talkina bout.
The method of growing, soil or hydro, do not necessarily affect the potency of the plant. However, certain methods are more conducive to sucess than others. For example, we know that more oxegent to the roots of a plant the better it does, but we also know that certain micro-organisms can affect plant nutrient uptake. Hydroponic growing is simply simpler to control, and more likely to be free of disease if done right. And if the plant isn't wasting energy dealing with stresses, then it will probably result in more effecient and productive use toward growth and development.
i agree :)
i bein wantin to try hydro all looks to complitcated
I had some good hydro in SC one summer, and I was pretty high... the weird thing about ti though is that for me the high hit me faster than usual, but it only stayed with me for like an hour to one 1/2 hours... The high did kinda seem different though than soil grown plants, but not necissrily stronger or more potent. I was gonna try and grow the stuff in an old fish tank, but I lost sight of the project... Maybe I'll think about tryin it again...
i personally beleive outdoors can be stronger. the light is superior.
The most important thing is how you grow not what you grow in. I have grown both and hydro is quicker and if done right will reach it's highest potential. That is the same true for soil. It took me several batches of hydro growing to get it right, I prefer it because it is quicker, but I will admit I think the taste may be a little better in soil. Hydro is much less forgiving then soil, so expect to grow a few batches before you get it right.
How important is a good ph & PPM meter? I mean are those the most important things to make sure your crop lives? I want to try a bubbler
I think the only difference is the speed at which the plant grows....we grew some that were fed 24/7. But we grew ours in a water solution only no rocks or anything else so if the water was off the roots would dry up in no time. I'm trying to find the pics I have, but we had a 300' x 56' greenhouse growing tomatoes and red fire lettuce with a few weed plants mixed in. With the tomato plants growing to about 8-9 feet tall it covered the weed plants pretty good.
The Ph and PPM made all the difference in the world for my growth. Mind you I am growing Drip Hydro method. As the plants eat the food the Ph rises and if reaches toxic level the plant will stress out and in return lose productivity. Also the plant will drink just the water some days so then the PPM gets to high and again the solution becomes toxic. I started my clones at 400 PPM and after the first weeks started to increase the PPM.
Now maintain them at 1400PM and check the ph and PPM three times a day. If PPM gets to high add water then adjust Ph. Once a week empty the reservoir and flush with just water fro 24 hr then add the food. Here is a pic after switch to flowering and week 4.
hydro is actually less potent, but grows a LOT faster.
grow, grow, grow like mofos. Hydro just makes more sense.
that plant looks great elfmanbca. is that a bubbler? Do plants in hydro only need basic hydro nutrients? or is their some other magic shit like living microorganisms?
bolicks the strenth is in the thc all plants are difrent the only diff between soil and hydro is method of growing.and as we all knew hydro is quicker and u get more bud.as light goes the biger the light the more the bud,not the strenth.dry bud mishandeld the wrong way can weeken it.
the main thing about hydro is its got to be flushed right if not it tastes shit.. some plants ie white widow love hydron more than soil and vice versa with certain other strains..
any hydro we get here,(wv-USA),is usually crap rushed to market,
it dont burn good, taise harsh, and gives ya headacke,
i prefer natural grown in the sun in the siol.
now ive had good hydro,it does exist, sadly indoor weed gets labled hydro when in fact it aint, few hydroponic growers here, too much effort i guess,
the indoor here is pretty much shit too,few do it right.
