You will need more lumens. Are you using flourescents?
No. :confused:Quote:

Out of what are you pulling these lumens??
TGF
cfls, so i could grow like 2 plants?
more like 1 (averaged sized)
How many plants could 6 CFL's support ?
um.... what wattage are they?
I plan on using 6 of the spiral design. I think they are rated at 23 watts, but it says on the package 23w=100w light output.
Ginnas, If you're going with 6 bulbs, then choose the warm with higher wattage. You can find the 42W that are appx. 3000 lumens per bulb at most box stores (under $10each). Even with 6 bulbs (appx. 18000 lumens), you will have to train the plants to stay close to the light. Plenty of growers use warm bulbs for their entire grow. I would try two plants with that amount of light.
Thanks mate. I think ill start 5 seeds and cut it down to two once I see how strong each is going/ how many males I get. I also plan to have my closet lined with mylar so I hope that helps with my limited ammount of light. Cheers.
i dont just have cfls, a have a metal halogen lamp too, but i dont know the lumen output :( its like...um, a little thin tube thats 4 1/2 inches long and gets hot enough for me to light my cigarettes on. is this acceptable? its color spectrum, i think, is mostly reds and yellows
You mean metal halide ? If so yes metal halide will grow, however its not a good idea to touch (or even have fingerprints on) a high intensity light. They can easily crack.
masta halogen lights make more heat then light, but if they work they work, i personally wouldnt use them though because of fire hazard.
oh, ok, thanks for possibly saving meh  i dont know if its halogen or halide, i got it off of a brazier lamp
is it pretty skinny? smaller then your cfls if it is then i wouldnt use them (it prolly halogen and ive never tried but ive heard that dont do jack) just go get 1-2 42-45 watt cfls about 3000 lumens each swap em with 1-2 of your other ones and grow some herbs
What is a brazier lamp?
have you ever watched those movies about like ancient romans and stuff and they got these stands with a big bowl at the top filled with oil? thats a brazier, a brazier lamp is basically the same thing, and yeah the bulb is really skinny
