Yeehaaww!!! Just Got Back From Voting !

I just got back from voting early,I didn't want to have to stand in a long line at the polls,there was only one feller ahead of me,so I was able to git right on in. My ballot,was a simple,one page ballot,and I used a pencil to darken in ovals next to the candidate's names. Easy as 1,2,3, ! My booth,was a three-sided cardboard enclosure,set up on the County Clerk's counter,there was two of em.

Of course,I voted for Bush/Cheney and where-ever there was a Libertarian candidate,I voted for them-sadly,there was several offices with nothing but Democrats to select,so I left them blank. I dang sure don't like it,when Dims run un-opposed-makes me want to run for office !

The County Clerk's office,was across the hall from the County Courthouse,so there was plenty of cops standing around-waiting to testify or keepin watch over their prisoners waitin to be arraigned,I reckon. I did git a few funny looks from em,with my big,bushy beard and hair down to almost my tailbone..lol. I also reckon,I got a few stares from folks waitin to vote- when they seen a hippy-looking feller marking his ballot..lol.

When I got back home from votin-the Lord and my honey,blessed me with a tasty breakfast of 3 eggs over medium,hamburger steak,grits and toast..yeehhhaaww !!! A dang good day - thank the Lord..Amen !

Did anyone hear about that new so called syndrome? Oh, I can't remember...it was something like Pre Election Anxiety Syndrome? They (and by "they" I'm not sure who because the reporter on GMA never really said) say some voters are actually so worried about the election they are losing sleep, suffering from headaches, and so on. So much so that it is actually being diagnosed as a "syndrome". Does anyone believe in it? I don't... Just wondering what everyones else thinks.
Btw, I'm absolutely serious about this...I just saw it on Good Morning America this morning.

what ever happen to soldiers returning from war just being shell-shocked, anyways? LoL they gotta claim syndrome this and syndrome that for everything thats wrong with society now.

MJM, I can see how some people could actually get a "syndrome" from the election. Just look how much heat the topic of current US politics brings. Hell, for a cannabis website, the Politics and Legal forums have by far the most heated, hate-filled, aggressive posts! Everyone seems to get along a lot better when they are discussing recipes, growing, smoking, etc. But talk about the election or political views and everyone is at war! Our country is so divided, I'll admit even I get a little nervous thinking about the upcoming week. :(

Cheney has proven time and again,that he was no longer connected with Haliburton,when he began his duties as vice-president.

Also,Haliburton is excellent at what they do,I've worked with them on many a drilling rig,they are better at what they do,than any other of the companies in the countries that have contributd nothing to the war effort,and therefore deserve no participation in the rebuilding of Iraq.

As the cheese-eatin surrender monkeys say 'Au contrair,mon frere'...I called up my local recruiter back in the first Gulf war to re-enter the service so I could go over and help,but I was still recovering from surgery at the time-and didn't qualify..now I'm even more crippled and still want to go if I could..I believe that it's America's duty-to spread Freedom and Democracy-not to retreat from it like the cowardly Left.

Kerry believes that terrorism is a nuisance like prostitution and gambling,so I doubt if he'll take North Korea seriously in that regard.

The problem with North Korea is that the leadership needs to be toppled,before they attack South Korea,Japan or the US. Therefore I do support an aggressive stance towards them,as they pose both a regional threat and an international threat,like saddam's regime did in Iraq. If all negotiations fail and Kim Jong-il ,(sp,?),goes off the deep end and attacks South Korea-the situation may have to be contained with the use of nukes,in order to stop a massive advance by the DPRK south. We already have a missile shield deployed in the seas between Japan and North Korea,because they may attack Japan simultaneously.

Obviously,being in possession of nukes,make the DPRK a strategic threat to the US,and could result in the need for us to use a strategic nuclear response,rather than just a tactical deployment.

Torog, I agree with you that the US needs to do what we can to spread Democracy BUT don't you feel that the real target should have been more seriously drawn on Bin Laden first? According to Kerry in the first debate, there were 75 other countries AHEAD of Iraq on the list of the most dangerous to America. Yes, the Iraqis were living in hell under Saddam's rule but what about the ppl living under Communist rule, like Cuba or China? Is the US supposed to take up arms against any country that treats their citizens unfairly? I don't think it is our responsiblilty to police the world in that way. Our troops should defend our country if need be but they shouldn't have to put their lives on the line unless our freedom is at stake.


I know this may sound harsh coming from a "bleeding heart Liberal". I'm glad that I live in the US and I understand how lucky I am but unless there is a threat to us, our armed forces in Iraq should be finding Bin Laden and the rest of those murderers. I know we have special agents looking in Afganistan (a local father of 3 was just shot in the back of the head there in Febraury) but we need more!

I went over to Saudi,to drill some water wells,back in the '80's,and let me tell ya,it was a crazy world over there,we were under constant watch ,by the 'holy men' ,for signs of anything that they could use to git us thrown in jail. We were hated everywhere we went,and stayed mostly at our villa-by the time I got the heck out out of there and landed back at New York,I was ready to kiss the soil of the good ol USA ! But I waited till I got back to Texas-so I could kiss Southern soil...lol !

November 2,is the official voting day,but many have already voted early,like me and most of my family.

I suggest that you watch the 'Stolen Honor" movie link in my signature,maybe you won't be rooting for Kerry so much,when you see how he betrayed his fellow soldiers and his country,in '71...like Jane Fonda,Kerry deserves the title of Hanoi John.

For me,it's not just about choosing between a traitor,coward and terrorist appeaser and apologist-like Kerry is,but also about conservative,Christian values..which Kerry has turned his back on,and is in fact,in a state of ex-communication because of his betrayal of the Catholic Faith.

It really doesn't matter what you think in regards to America anyhow,since you're a Brit,and it's pretty obvious,that you intend to surrender to the muslim jihadists when they come to your doorstep-and demand that you convert to Islam..and pay your infidel tax. But when it all comes down to it, Kerry served in Vietnam and Bush ran home to his mommy because his family had influence. Just like he became president because his brother was conveniently the governor of Florida where there was a "mix up" with the ballots. If he does win this year it will be because he undermined the election again. Let's see...maybe some absentee ballots could get "lost" or 500,000 ballots in Florida could get "lost". Bush is a liar and a coward. It was easy for him to send our troops to Iraq because he's not the man behind the gun.

You got it! That's why I am against Bush. If you are going to be commander-in-chief you need to have experience in combat(I think it should be a presidential requirement). You need to know what you are sending your troops into. You need to think and not jump to conclusions. You need to be able to admit your mistakes so you can correct them. Bush is just dishonest and is not intelligent enough to be our president.

I think it's completely ridiculous to talk about bush's values as a selling point, when it's so obvious that he just adopted those for his political career. He was an alcoholic fuck up till he was 40, and then he can just turn around and say "sorry! I fucked up! elect me to government office cos i'm such a nice guy now!"
