You need a medical issue in order to get medical marijuana. They don't just give it to you for like a headache or something.
im guessin from your post that you dont have any kind of medical condition that would warrent getting a cc card, so dont try getting one. if people keep exploiting the system then cannabis will never become legal and the cc will get removed, so that people who genuinly need it for medical reasons cant get it as easy anymore, think of that next time your trying to find a loophole in the law
I read about some lawyer in CA who got a card to get medical marijuana for "stress relief". I'd say that pretty much opens the door for anyone, because who lives a completely stress-free life? And, for some people, probably even most people, marijuana really *is* a good stress reliever. Some people would probably consider that gaming the system, but who's to say whether someone's stress levels are 'bad enough' to warrant a marijuana prescription? Only the person dealing with the stress can really make that call.

Here in California, you have to go through the local county. Some counties are stricter than others. Traditionally counties WITH DISPENSARIES are easier to aquire the cards from than those that don't.
It takes all the excitement out of the industry... and the patients are shuned quite a bit, even by other smokers. REALLY, its treated as a REAL illness and who the hell wants to hang out with a sick person? Right. That's no fun. I like to have fun. See.
Yes, they do, alot of Doctors in California will hand out the cards cause they get Comp from said Club for issuing it. The entire Medical Marijuana Argument/scene is a scam.Quote:

Actually you can get a recommendation for "a really bad headache". When I was 3 years old I was attacked by a kid with a hammer. I too suffer from sever migraines/headaches and have tried everything and went to doctor after doctor and got "men donâ??t have migraines" to â??we donâ??t see anything that could be causing these" It take 3 or more Lortabs 7.5 to even touch one of my headaches, but I really donâ??t like taking anything man made. So I just deal with the pain. They last anywhere from 1 solid day to the one I have now its been going strong for 5 days now. I havenâ??t smoke in about 6 day...when I smoked my head aches never lasted more than a few hours and they were no where near as painful but I only got one 2 times a month if that and they were just a normal headache. Now when the THC is out of my system Its like I have 2 days a month with no pain. When I have a bad one I cant function properly. My mother dropped me (on my head) a few times as a child as well as letting my fall out of the stroller, high chair, and who knows what else. So I think that is the reason for my pain. I have been having bad ones since about 10 but I remember pain as young as 6. I live in FL so there is not that much hope to get a MED Card so I suffer day after dayâ?¦ But the drunk drivers get to drink it up day after dayâ?¦I see this as unfair and it makes me quit angry. So if you donâ??t have a problem donâ??t get a card it just make it that much harder for the ones who need it to get it, or even try and get their state to offer it. I have been having migraines for 17 years - since I was 11. At 14 they started injecting me with something everytime one started coming on...at 19 I tried hypnosis....at 22 I had this laser surgery that did nothing but cause anxiety...at 25 it finally dawned on me that the only time I could guarantee to be pain free was to smoke a joint as I felt the pain moving n (many sufferers feel or sense the onset of a migraine). This is my excuse for not having a *real* job. I don't do 9-5...I write weekly and I do public relations on a contract basis. I need to basically have the freedom where if I feel the onset of pain, I can stay home, smoke a little and not worry about missing a days work.
I have, on occasion, been without anything to smoke and so I endure headaches that last up to 5 or 6 days.
Anyone who has a license to smoke as a result of these symptoms, you deserve it. I have never applied...mainly because finding an approving dr where I live could be near impossible, and I have no real history with any dr's outside my city. I'll be satisfied buying it and getting occasionally ripped off by punks...this is easier than fighting the system for somethig I believe I deserve, but which would prolly run me a long fight, and way too much public knowledge - I don't know what my clients would think of it, as I assume many of them do not smoke marijuana....
what about for something like ADD or insomnia? pretty much the only time i can get a good night's sleep is after smoking:rastasmoke:would that put me in legit need of a card? i know it's not a serious condition, but it tends to be greatly annoying
Ill share my recent experience with medical cards.
I live in TX, the laws have just changed here btw, but not good enough. (you can get ticketed now for having up to 4 oz or less on you if the officer chooses.) But I need to GROW legally, and thats a long way off here in tx. So here are my medical conditions. I shattered my clavicle in a motorcycle reck when I was 15 going about 80 miles per hour. I highsided and im lucky to be alive. I got addicted to vikedent and percocet after 3 surgeries and yrs in pain. The viks and percs did horrible things to my body, and made it hard to eat and sleep eventually. i lost 30 pounds, and started having panic attacks from all the meds they had me on. So what do the docs do to "help" me with the panic attacks?..... They give me more pills, this time zanex to calm me down. These little devils will make you cold as ice. I could have watched my mother die right in front of me and it would not have bothered me at all. I eventually stopped taking the pills and replaced them ALL with cannabis. It helps in MANY different departments that i had to take various different pills for other wise.
So I contacted a doctor in CO and he sent me a app for the card and he said that I would more than likely qualify for the card due to my extensive medical records going back for yrs on trying to treat the pain from the surgeries. I plan on moving to CO when things make sense for me and my family and job situation, but for now Ill just have to keep doing it illegally to medicate my self. One day ill be able to live my life with out fear that the medicine that works best for me, that I use at home, will not put me in jail for the rest of my life.
You need to live in a MMJ friendly state. If you are in California you just need something that cannabis provides relief for. In other states you need more "serious" conditions. I get my medicine soley for mental conditions, nothing physical.
Your going to need medical record that proves your condition real. As long as you have that, your good to go.Quote:

I know that this is going to sound strange but, it was a, kind of, comfort to hear that I am not alone. I have been a migraine sufferer since I was about ten years old. I have had many test and been on many scripts for this...thing. If I do not smoke, I can/will have headaches that sometimes last up to five (5) days. They cause extreme sensitifity to light and smells. They also cause me to have nausea and sometimes vomiting. With that, loss of appetite. Weed has been my relief since I was 17 years old. NOTHING gives me the results in curbing pain, bringing back the ability to function like bud.
when i get a headache i go and smoke some bud and it relieves my headache. sorry if it is off topic.

Getting my card was very stressful. I have a blood disorder and due to it I lost my spleen and every little thing makes me sick, there are days I throw up more than 10 times. The pain in my body and head from having such thick blood was excruciating! It's a double whammy on me when the disorder shifted into a type of lukemia and I was in searious pain all the time, I'm talking 10 or more loritabs, some valium, blood thinners and many percocets a day! Thats horrible. I simply had to make the appointment with the "special doctor"(not even needed), pay the 150$ for the visit, fill out some forms, show him my med records(past and present prescriptions), talked to him a little bit about my disorders and the use of cannabis, signed some papers, and I had my recc. Where is this in California? I just moved to San Francisco and after having not smoked cannabis for a while, really makes me realize how much it helped with depression and insomnia. I would like to see someone who knows what they're talking about in regards to medical marijuana (though I have done tons of research). I would just prefer this be legal. I currently take a long-term prescription for anxiety and it seemed to coexist with no apparent side effects with smoked marijuana.Quote:

Medical marijuana laws differ from state to state, in California you would be legal to use marijuana to treat your conditions, you don't have to be on your death bed to get it here. According to the NORML.org state map, Oklahoma does not have a medical marijuana program, so even if you were on your death bed you still couldn't get it. You didn't really ask a question, but I think that's what you meant to ask right? :P

I'm allowed to grow 6 "mature" plants (or 12 "immature" plants- I stay at 6- I don't trust the cops to be able to tell the difference! :wtf: ) and have half a pound of bud. To get legal all you need is- a real medical problem, your medical records and $200 (or less depending on who you see). I've always had little back pains because im pretty tall. (6'5 and im only 18)
Bending down to pick up things or whatever it kills my back. But i have never seen a doctor about this. I have always dealt with the pain.
But now i have my first real full time job and i noticed my back is hurting a lot more and more constant. My job includes doing storage stuff so i am always picking up boxes or whatever.
And now im just fed up with having to deal with the pain. But i really dont want to take pills. I just dont like them, never have. Honestly i trust marijuana more.
Also im afraid ill get rejected for a card because i have never reported about back problems to any doctor in the past.
Chronic pain is sufficient for medical marijuana in California, however I wouldn't only use marijuana as your sole means of treatment. I don't know much about back pain, but I would think seeing a chiropractor, and perhaps a massage therapist to be most beneficial, in addition to marijuana. If I were you, I would see a doctor for your pain first, even though I share your distrust for pharmaceutical drugs, I do realize that the majority of them are beneficial and in general are a good thing. Talking with a doctor specializing in back pain would be something you should do, regardless if you decide to treat your pain with medical marijuana.
I wouldn't know if you would be rejected or not, but you should be seeing a doctor about your back anyway so it's not a bad time to set up an appointment, and any information he adds to your record would surely be helpful if you go to a pot doctor, or your back doctor himself might just write the recommendation, but either way I suggest seeing a back doctor.
