cmon fokers i need material for a long ass paper
Yes, check the Politics section. Politics and Religion really get people stirred up, so be prepared for insults to come flying by if you disagree with someone.
But me personally, war gets us nowhere. That's all, so people, don't bug or flame me, because I will not respond. :)
I fully support the so-called "war on terrorism" but not the war in Iraq. It has been shown time and time again that Iraq had no direct link to Al Qaeda and no WMD's. Our invading Iraq and taking Saddam Hussien out of power has done nothing to make us safer from terrorism. In fact, it has had the opposite effect.
By putting most of our resources into Iraq we have taken the focus away from where it should be, in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Additionally, and probably more importantly, our invading a sovereign, Muslim, nation has done more for Al Qaeda(and other Islamic terrorist groups) recruitment than anything Osama Bin Laden could ever do.
Bottom line is that Bush only cared about being the president who got rid of Saddam. He probably figured that was a better legacy than being known as the dumbest president ever. To bad his plan failed. Sure he got Saddam but now he'll be known as the president who was even stupider than people originally gave him credit for.
Now Iraq is so fucked up nobody knows what to do. When asked about a troop pull-out Bush just gets that shit eating smirk (the one I'd love to smack off his face) and says that's for a future president to decide. In other words, it's such a fucking mess he has no clue so he'll leave it for the next guy. That jackass mother fucker should be impeached for what he has done.
We're fighting for:
oil
power
money
Haliburtion contracts
All under the cloak of 'War on Terror'.
Dont be a fucking pussy, PC is going to kill us.Quote:

Do you know what Moral equavalancy is?
FUCK THE WORDS "WAR ON TERROR"......IT IS A WAR AGAINST ISLAMOFASCISM.
Hamlet... your hate for BUSH is clouding your judegement... Maybey start by pulling your head out, and wake the fuck up, to start.....
maybe you could write something witty about it?
"I can post picture of 3 little girl with there heads cut off,,,,, why? for not being Muslim. WTF"
I could post a hundred pictures of thousands of little girls with their guts blown out!--BY US! All because they were in our way of the OIL!
Radical Islam is made up of primative cultures who would still be shooting each other off the backs of camels with flintlock rifles if it wasn't for the oil under their sands. All a war on Islam accomplishes is to create more radical Jehodists waiting to die for Allah.
We're not even fighting a war. Our soldiers are policing and getting blown up while factions fight a civil war with each other.
...and Bush isn't even looking for Bin Ladin. He said himself "I don't know where Bin Ladin is. I don't spend that much time thinking about it."
No one would have a word to say about it if our efforts were to tear Afganistan apart until we found Bin Ladin. But Iraq has absolutely nothing to do with that. Iraq was the only secular regime in the middle east. They were the balance of power against Iran.
We are fighting 'the worst war ever' though, as you said in another thread. It's one that the politically powerful are waging against their fellow citizens, the Constitution, and the rest of the World. All for more wealth and power.
 Well said Hamlet
The only true war is the war of propoganda.
War imo is total insanity.
America may not have stomach for the memory however I feel I must point out that dropping napalm on villages full of children seems a strange way to wage war.
Terrified children run from their village after a U.S. napalm attack during the Vietnamese War. This photograph was pivotal in promoting awareness of the suffering of the Vietnamese people during the war and was particularly effective in arguments against the use of napalm. AP/WIDE WORLD PHOTOS.
hundreds of pictures of thousands of dead girls? really? i'd love to see all these pictures THAT DON'T FUCKING EXIST BECAUSE WE HAVEN'T KILLED THOUSANDS OF LITTLE GIRLS!! and if we are doing it for all that Iraqi oil than why hasn't production of their oil (that benefits us so much) gone back up to the level it was at before the war started? I have a better idea for everyone who hates bush, thinks America sucks, or the war is bullshit... GO FUCK YOURSELF!! WHY DON'T YOU GO FIGHT IN THE WAR AND DEFEND YOUR COUNTRY AND THE RIGHT TO FREE SPEACH THAT YOU USE TO SHIT ON YOUR OWN COUNTY. DOES ANYONE BOTHER TO NOTICE THAT THE MAJORITY OF TROOPS VOTED FOR BUSH, THAT THE MAJORITY OF TROOPS (YOU KNOW THOSE PEOPLE RISKING THEIR LIVES AND ACTUALLY DOING SOMETHING WHILE YOU ALL SIT BACK AND CRITICIZE THE WAR) ACTUALLY SUPPORT THE WAR? IF YOU DON'T THINK THESE MIDDLE EASTERN FUCKERS ARE A THREAT YOU'RE A DUMASS.Quote:

Cheney's wealth was estimated at 15 million at the beginning of his term. Now it is estimated at 90 million. Congratulations, I'm sure he would like to thank your blind patriotism from the bottom of his heart.
So it wasn't US warplanes that dropped napalm on Vietnamese villages ?Quote:

you ever heard the term the rich get richer. do you know how many other wealthy investors not involved in government also made millions of dollars just by investing the shit load of money they already had. its called INVESTING AND TENS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE DO IT. and let me guess, halliburton right? did you know he sold his shares in them before he took office because he said it would be a conflict of interest. GET SOME OPINIONS i WON'T FIND BY TURNING ON THE NEWS. AND OH YEA DUMB FUCK, IT'S CALLED BALLS, OR MAYBE COURAGE, OR MAYBE I'M A REAL MAN, OR MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, I AM EVERYTHING YOU WISH YOU COULD BE. FOR YOU TO IMPLY IN ANY WAY THAT I AM ANYTHING BUT A HERO MEANS YOU ARE SIMPLY A PIECE OF SHIT. GO BLOW YOUR DAD.
DO ALL YOU PEOPLE DO IS SIT AROUND AND LISTEN TO A BIAS MEDIA? NO WMD'S? SADAM USED THEM ON THE KURDS BEFORE THE FIRST GULF WAR. HE HAD 8 YEARS WHEN CLINTON WAS IN OFFICE TO HIDE EVERYTHING WHILE HE GAVE THE U.S. THE FINGER. AND AGAIN, CHANGE YOUR NEWS CHANNEL AND YOU WILL FIND THAT SADAM MET WITH OSSAMMA BEFORE 9/11. THAT'S NOT A DIRECT LINK THOUGH. GET A FUCKING OPINION THAT HASN'T BEEN BEATEN TO DEATH BY THE MEDIA. THINK FOR YOURSELF, LISTEN TO OTHER PEOPLE, EVERYTHING YOU ARE SAYING IS UNTRUE.Quote:

I think you need to update your knowledge since Bush openly stated both .
A real man ? why? :([/QUOTE]
are you even capable of wrapping your mind around actual combat? i know your not because no one is until after they've been throught it. i do not think you would be menatlly capable of lasting 10 minutes in falluja if your heart breaks for the poor Iraqi's. you act like we are killing innocent people all day. yes, civillians die, that's what happens in war. and yes i am hero because i fought in this war honorably and with courage. i have earned the right to call myself a man. what have you done except blow kisses to yourself while you jerk off in front of a mirror? if you even had the slightest idea what war was really like and the things I've been through you would not sit here now and test me. the things you say only show your lack of knowledge for what is real.
AGAIN, YOU NEED TO FIND SOME OTHER SOURCES!!! EVERYTHING I SAID IS TRUE.Quote:

The words were coming out of Bushs mouth so I guess he said it.
THE BOTTOM LINE IS THESE PEOPLE, THESE FANATICS ARE A THREAT TO OUR WAY OF LIFE, THAT'S IT PLAIN AND SIMPLE. IF ANOTHER 9/11 HAPPENED I THINK YOU BE SEEING THINGS DIFFERENTLY. AND YES FIGHTING IN WAR DOES MAKE YOU A MAN, OBVIOUSLY YOU WOULD NOT KNOW. AND NO I DONT KNOW YOU AND YES I'M JUDGING YOU BY WHAT YOU SAY, WHICH PROBABLY ISNT THE BEST WAY. WHATEVER. I NEVER SHOULD HAVE STARTED POSTING ON THIS THREAD BECAUSE I KNEW THIS WAS GOING TO END UP LIKE THIS. I TRIED TO APPOLIGIZE AT THE BEGINING AND AVOID ALL THIS THAT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW. ddropdeadfred, thank you for that last post. I agree with your position 100% and have much respect for all the fine men and women over there. I was just on the verge of asking if you could maybe just tune it down a bit but I'm glad to see your handling that on your own.
This area is VERY slightly moderated and is a battleground in itself. Flame wars happen........no harm in that, I was just gonna ask the favor. :stoned:
psychocat, no offense to you either.......we just have different beliefs. :stoned:
Once again.........MUCH respect!!!

I really believe this current US administration is doing all it can to spread it's influence and global domination is definately on their agenda , surely freedom is not only for Americans and if a country wishes to be Communist or Muslim that should be their business and nobody elses.
I believe the war on terror is going to be as effective as the war on drugs and we all know what a joke that is. Propoganda from the Bushites is what started this current BS.
What do you mean flame war? LOL i have never seen one..... LOL:DQuote:

DropDeadFred, thank you, first of all, for your courageous service. I stand in awe of the fact that you served this country, and I personally know and love a number of young men (and one young woman) who have served or are currently serving in the military. As much as I love and support you guys, however, I have a hard time forgiving my country's leadership for sending y'all into harm's way based on bad intelligence. That's what much of our very understandable objection to this war is about. We see the casualty counts, both military and civilian, grow by the day. We see you young men and women coming back, often wounded for life, and, as a mother of a 20-year-old, I find that impossible to support. Certainly deep down you can see why others may feel differently from you. I certainly see why you feel the way you do.
About the deaths of little girls, I did a little research real quickly and found widely varying tallies of civilian casualties as a result of our military action. They ranged from 30,000 civilian deaths (our DoD estimate) up to 100,000+ depending on whose tally you read. The one thing that all the tally sources agreed on, however, is the fact that that figure comprises a large amount (about 3/4) of women and children. The Pentagon and our top military officials don't dispute this fact, by the way. I've heard both Rumsfeld and Cheney talk about this very fact on the Sunday news shows on more than one occasion. So, as much as I may be risking setting off another tirade of all-caps profanity, Hamlet's information was quite accurate, and pictures of such victims do exist.

I strongly support our troops. I strongly support getting their asses out of Iraq in one piece.
(blow my dad--geez, now was that really necessary?)
sorry hamlet i get a little emotional sime times. i recently started college after my 4 years in the military and all my classes and everyone in them talks about the war and how horrible it is when they know nothing about it. it's very disheartening for so many people to think so horribly about something that i take great pride in the fact that I've done. I'm sorry i directed all my anger at you. eveyone says they support the troops. but bringing them home isn't the only way to support them. i proudly have a veterans license plate and my Marine Corps uniform cover displayed on my car. I'm young, I'm obviously not a Vietnam vet. I the last two years 2 people have stopped me where ever I was and thanked me and shook my hand. Two. In a nation of almost 300 million, two people have thanked me. I don't think everyone's "support the troops" means what our veterans think it means. Most of our troops do not think the war is bad, so if everyone could think on that level, at least to understand how our troops feel, maybe we could find better ways to "support the troops".
and to birdgirl: the people that our nation has killed over the last 100 years is a speck compared to the literally hundreds of millions that have been killed by totolitarian governments and war lords in the same time frame. we are fighting for those people. what if militia from surrounding states went to Delaware and started killing every one because all people from delaware were protestants? shouldn't someone do something about it? the thing is, all this shit is going on and no one in the area is willing to stop it and every one in the world looks to us, the shining star, to do something.
the marine corps symbol is the eagle-country, anchor-naval tradition, and the globe- WORLD WIDE SERVICE.
I have been to countries that i wouldn't even say were third world countries, that would be too nice. someone has to help these people.

Depleted uranium, known as DU, is a highly dense metal that is the byproduct of the process during which fissionable uranium used to manufacture nuclear bombs and reactor fuel is separated from natural uranium. DU remains radioactive for about 4.5 billion years.
All our bunker buster bombs are full of this crap
Yes, how come you can't tell the whole story. The 75 million difference is from "stock options" he received and never cashed in over a period of 20 years as part of his employment package. BEFORE the was picked to be VP.Quote:

Those stock options are worth 75 million now because...?
Haliburton even supplies mess to the troops. Not one case of contractor abuse (of which there are many) has been investigated or even questioned by this administration.
Because oil was selling for 78 dollors a barrel, as far as Haliburton even the Democrats have shut up about it because there is no there, there.Quote:

Dick Cheney took way more of a pay cut than $8 million to $12 million per year to go back to the public sector, which I know he did because he wanted to and felt he could do some good. I also don't begrudge him that stock option or golden parachute money he got based on Halliburton's success in the war. Sure, Halliburton and its Kellogg Brown & Root subsiduary are making a killing, but that $75 million figure is just standard fare for CEOs of big Texas companies. They get these enormous stock options every year (Cheney is said to have about 450,000 in them from Halliburton) and the SEC laws allow them a smallish six-week window of opportunity to exercise them each year, generally. For tax reasons, of course, they usually exercise their options very gradually, and they usually use that sell-off option money to pay the taxes on their other investments and income.
CEOs and their cronies are the men I used to work for as a speechwriter, only I didn't write for Halliburton. I wrote for a technology company on whose board of directors Dick Cheney sat till he went back to the public sector.
CEO salaries are the real issue here. But it's true that Halliburton's stock has been enjoying good health thanks to KBR's monopoly in Iraq. It's rumored around Dallas that the SEC is going to be doing some investigating into that stock price, and my hunch is that congressional inquiries will be coming very soon. Halliburton has recently been awarded a number of Katrina-related contracts, too.
"Because oil was selling for 78 dollors a barrel, as far as Haliburton even the Democrats have shut up about it because there is no there, there."
Rush Limbaugh telling you this? Turn on another station besides Fox, or try a google search and listen to the rest of the world scream blooody murder about it.

Folks who're against the war on terror, often don't have any idea of what things are like,in a fundy muslim country,or just how tribal their thinking is and the way that they do things, for instance,in a fundy muslim family, the wife and daughters, rank just barely above the family camel and the family goat and are often treated much worse.

"Next time our country is attacked by terrorists, we can attack who did it...or Iraq."
Iraq was not a threat to us until we invaded them. This country had nothing to do with 9/11 until we got them all stirred up, and now they are a threat to our country...because we invaded theirs. George Bush is putting soldiers in harms way for other reasons that protecting the liberties of we American citizens...But honestly, there's nothing that we can do about it. His administration has an agenda, and it's going to be done regardless of what we have to say about it. Bush will break as many laws as he wants and needs to to get what he wants to be done done, and I think it's going to further shape a disfunctional government...Bring our boys home..
