I was wondering if I could get a medical marijuana card in california for having asthma. It really helps my breathing out and relaxes me during a attack. I do have a medical history of it and be hospilized for it in the past.

asthma is not one of the specified illnesses, simply because smoking is considered a major no-no for asthma sufferers ... BUT, a sympathetic doctor (by CA law), CAN recommend for "any condition he feels would be helped by marijuana" ... now, you have some doctor hunting to do:http://www.canorml.org/prop/215physicians.html
... :smokin:
There are some really cool Dr's here in California. I mean... I moved here from the mid west and if you are NOT racist and do not mind an ethnic Dr, or black doctor helping you, you can avoid all that jazzy paperwork. I mean obviously you can download it yourself of the county web site, duh. These computers really are THE GREAT EQUALIZER. nobody knows more than anyone else. The dispenaries here all carry a variety of strains of genetics.
ASTHMA... thats a tuff one. Usual complaints are chonic pain, depression, HIV related illness, Cataracts and Glaucoma. You should come out here to California, we really need more stoners and cool people. Its the YUPPIE capital of the world and all these suckas are getting royally ripped up the ass.
HAHHAHHAHHHA
I was looking around the web on the subject and this is one of the things I found about marijuana and asthma

I have a dr that will sign you up guarenteed pm me and I will give you his name and number I have sent all my freinds there and he has signed them up for anything from migraines to back pain its $125 a year he is located in san diego. my boy got one for stress.
crooked doctors like that will soon get the medical marijuana laws repealed, and force the DEA into more aggressive enforcement ... you would be doing a great service to the medical marijuana patients, if you keep info like that to yourself ... :smokin:
I agree. It is no good at all to be so blatantly advertising illegal acts and invitation to illegal activity like that. Sounds like something a LEO might do to try to bust you.
But see, a lot of conditions can actually be helped by marijuana...Anytime that I smoke I feel better, and it eliminates nausea that I feel in the morning time..does that mean that I could benefit medically? It's debatable. I'm going to smoke it regardless, but I would definately ask a doctor about such if I lived in a state allowing medical marijuana..
I live in Cali, and I believe that you would be able to get a recommendation through one of the doctors on the CaNorml site. You will need a copy of your medical records and any meds you are taking. You should also look into getting a vaporizer. It eliminates the particulate matter you get from smoking. In addition, you need less for the same high, it doesn't smell hardly at all, you lose that morning cough and you can get high a second time from the "left-overs" from vaping if you use them in cooking. (I am high right now from vape brownies-yum). Since your lungs are already in trouble because of the asthma, vaping should be a necessity for you. You might want to run a search on-- cannabis abstract asthma -- to get more scientific studies to boost your case with the doctor. So get yourself to California and get "legal".
Well the supreme court passed a law that says doctors can not be prosecuted for recomending medical marijuana. It just so happens the guy is real leanant and see's the benifits marijuana has on almost any ailment. so he is doing nothing wrong and if he is willing to sign me or anyone else up for what ever reason there is nothing wrong with that. sorry If am trying to help a brother out.
by the way the guy along with 3 other dr openly advertize in the news paper so sorry about being blatant
It is unethical, and possibly illegal for any doctor to "guarantee" recommendation before any evaluation has taken place. Those doctors risk losing their license if that is how they practice.
Even if the doctors are lenient, it is unwise to be referring them in such a manner which may compell anyone reading about this (including LEOs) to take a close look at these Dr.s
It jeopardizes the legality of medicinal marijuana. Its a classic example of the wrong people fucking it up for everyone else.
he dosn't give them out to just anybody but if you have anything wrong with you and another dr will state that you have that condition he has signed everyone I have sent there its not like he is just making shit up if you have any sort of legitamate medical condtion that marijuana helps you with he will sign you up guarenteed sorry if I needed to clarify my statement. I always thought it was for major stuff like hiv and glaucoma but I had 2 knee surgeries and that was enough for me. my wife had anxiety. my other friend had major stress that caused an aulcer.
Would having arthritis in both shoulders be considered for medical mj? I have never had it looked at but alot of my family have it and my shoulders and upper back are killing at the moment.
Yes, I think everyone has some sort of health condition that MJ could help experiment and find a good pro. I for example have trouble sleeping and just for general stress relief. I think it will prolong my life due to the lowering of stress. Body stress has a huge factor on life expectancy. I don't think doctors should do anything unethical, that's why you have to find the reason sometimes. I think someone protecting themselves from a bullshit law is great.
Lets keep as many MJ users out of jail...its a waste of tax money. I'm sure anyone can find a pro and get legal.
whos carl
My father in law has it for arthritis so I am positive you qualify but you need another dr to say you have it they mj dr's normaly don't diagnos anything it has to be a prior condition. go see a $35 clinic they always have them in the shity parts of town see there dr get diagnosed then see the mj dr.
I see.
Yes, you always wanna make sure you dont go around saying things which may jeopardize patients' access to medicine. Thank you for clarifying. Keep that in mind.:smokin:
Most places don't require a prior diagnosis. I didn't need one in a place in Oakland.
A prior diagnosis just makes it a whole lot easier with the more legit doctors. If you have any questions if your ailment is treatable with cannabis, you might concider running a search on --cannabis abstract asthma (or whatever it is). This will get you a fair number of summaries of scientific studies. Print them up and take them with you when you see the doctor. My doctor enjoys the ones I take him.
the dr i see in vegas for my recommendation also believes everyone would benefit from using cannabis but unfortunately is saddled with a need for medical records. it doesn't much matter what the chronic (no pun intended) problem is but the records of having a long lasting condition is the key...whether it be arthritis, sleep apnea, general pain and even asthma (it's on the list here) it needs documentation or a thorough physical before he's allowed to sign the forms. so for those seeking a card, get busy with the paperwork!

Thats all extra money and time....http://www.norcalhealthcare.org/ if your around the area I would recommend this place. Be honest with them, they really don't require much except a sitdown and quick evaluation. If it helps you relieve pain, physical or mental stress go for it.
