"Scientist can not remember if Alzheimerâ??s Disease causes higher concentrations of aluminum, or if it is caused by high concentrations of aluminum."
:stoned: :stoned:
I think more studies need to be done :)
Interesting read though
Habitually smoking tobacco lowers your risk of Alzheimer's Disease. So smoke aluminum foil AND cigarettes just in case! :p
Aluminum foil beeing dangerous is news to me...
Everyone I know use it when cooking. You get the best fish ever if you make yourself a nice little fire outside, put a recently fished fish inside aluminum foil, and put it over the fire. I thought that was what aluminum foil was for?!
I seriously doubt that's dangerous at all. I also use foil when smoking every time.
i said i wont mind useing it but i think im more like i wouldnt be upset if i had to
Aluminum foil is bad for you, mister!

Unless you're sparking your bowl with a kiln...I don't think you have anything to seriously worry about.:o
still wouldn't be my choice of material though..Quote:

i use it all the time. still alive. i think that all the stories are bullshit.
ive used it once or twice and i dont like the taste it makes... too strong
Well its good to know its not too bad for you but im still not gonna use it. I dont have to and it tastes bad.
Even if the fumes aren't released from burning it(which they are, lol), you still have it on your mouth.
Yea, that new edible aluminum is really becomming popular...Quote:

Plus your saliva is acidic.
If I had to smoke out of metal, it would be either stainless steel, anodized aluminum, titanium, or bronze, which are all pretty resistant to corrosion.
FUCK NO!! not bronze, it tastes sooooooooo horrible... plz nvr use bronze... the time i used a bronze pipe, i got blazed but I almost threw up becasue it tasted so horrible.
Never used it, never will. I dont see the point, when you can just go but a pipe, or some real screens for a bong. I wouldnt risk it.
incomplete combustion produces less carbon dioxide and more carbon ("black residue") and carbon monoxide. carbon monoxide is a poison because it replaces the oxygen in your blood. neither carbon or carbon monoxide are acidic and hence do not corrode the aluminium. and your saliva is not acidic (your stomach ACIDS are but not saliva), instead it contains enzymes which start to breakdown any starchy foods you eat.Quote:

You're assuming that cannabis is made of nothing but pure carbon.Quote:

The nitrates, phosphates, etc found in plant matter are still in the coal, which, when burned, releases them into the atmosphere and they are part of acid rain (nitric and phosphoric acids).
You have a nice day too, now, y'hear?Quote:

Are you kidding? What a rediculous assumption! The flame from a lighter can be upwards of thousands of degrees fahrenheit! people rarely cook things in foil above 350-375F.Quote:

i think tin foil is safe, but what about using like a can or plastic? i heard that the chemicals in the paint on the can burn and u smoke them, and i heard that u burn the plastic when u smoke out of a bottle. can anyone clarify this plz?
Personally I hate tinfoil, every time i smoked out of it (recently not when i first started) i gag, and it hurts my throat pretty bad. I have a lot of ratchets now so i use grav craps on empty plastic bottles with a small hole at the bottom. Becasue my parents smashed my glass :(
in my earlier, poorer days i would use it, but now i have some pipes and a budy has a bowl so its all good.
thats bs, you CAN melt aluminum foil with a butane lighter....ive done it before
aluminum foil increases your high and makes you see funny colors similar to cocaine
uhm... no!Quote:

me n' a buddy used to use foil in a 2 liter and take massive hits, and never had any bad taste or throat-hurting. I loved it. Obviously I prefer my pipe/bong over foil, but it gets the job done.
kidding.Quote:

You probably get more aluminum from your drinking water and kitchen utensils than you would ever get from an aluminum bowl. If you're really that worried about light metals, you should probably invest in a water purifier.
Besides, with the shit going on right now in my life, I'd rather have alzheimer's disease when i'm 60 so i don't remember it. I'll probably be toking more often when i'm a senior than i do now, anyway.
why do you think the melting point of aluminum has anything to do with its ability to cause Alzheimerâ??s.Quote:

Butane lighters burn at LEAST 1000*F, and the good ones with blue flames burn upwards of 2500*F.
Hot enough to melt aluminum.
ok the fact that people cook stuff in there oven at only 350 degrees F is a good point......but there are people like me when BBQing throw aluminum foil over the grill to cook for at least 30 minutes........0.o
Kurt Cobain, of all people, demanded to own the safest car on the market at the time he was a father.
Thats what I compare to you people, afraid to use aluminum foil.
A dead rock star?Quote:

a very intertesting read, thats news to me. ive used it a few times and it didnt seem like it would hurt, it wasnt to smooth but whatever. i hope no one has to smoke out of foil though, i wish everyone could atleast a little glass spoon or something.
i agree, this needs more research and you shouldnt believe everything you read. needs more evidense i think, it was posted very casual looking, not like an official report so i dont know...what your self.
NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!!!!!!!Quote:

but regular butane lighter (eg. bic, clippers, crickets etc) do not have flame temps above 1000dF or even near that.....as you cant vaporise water by put the flame next to it for a second(true it slowly does but thats because i think that the actual temp is nearer 200dC (about 333dF)) even if AL gives you altzheimers....fags give you cancer...weed can lead to schizo psycosis etc..
we're all gona die, so who cares what happens in the mean time as long as we're having fun
Let me put your mind at ease, You can not contract alzheimer's disease by using or burning aluminum foil.
Not to go into to much detail, but alzeimers can be contracted in part, and on very rare occations by cooking certain foods ie tomatos, and some but not all, acidic foods with certain older types of aluminum pans. This has to do with the chemical and molicular reaction between the two. Also note its not all acidic foods just some of them, and not all aluminum pans, & its not the only way to contract Alzeimers either.
Using foil in your bowl, (which I have used myself when i've run out of stainless steel or brass mesh), is safe. Aluminum foil and aluminum pans are different anyway both cemical and molicular and its 100% safe to cook all food types using Aluminum foil.
One would however heat the foil a little first to burn off the harmless residue coating thats on the surface of the foil, which is produced in the making of the foil. I also heat all my mesh a little before use, this is so it will burn off any residue on the mesh, as the residue just marrs the taste of the green.
Its just another urban myth, along with "you can not get cancer by smoking grass only", sorry folks but you can.
Anyway I think we can safely come to the conclusion that aluminum foil is a close 3rd choice as what to put in your bowl, but what would be your 1st choice, (brass or stainless steel) and why?
Does nukeing your food really sound like a good idea?Quote:
