sorry for your loss but does this really belong here?
If guns were no more. Tell that to any woman who has ever been raped. Also, guns weren't the cause of your friends death, its morons who shouldn't have them riding around in a car.

Hell no we can't get rid of guns. I'm sorry about what happened, but guns are very necessary in today's society.

What if the King Of England broke into your house, what would you shoot him with?
if guns become illegal, people will start dieing from bow and arrows
EDIT: sorry to hear about your friend man :(

Guns don't kill people...the bullets do but seriously as with anything especially firearms responsibility is paramount. There shouldn't ever be a round in the chamber and safety off unless you are going to shoot. Thats is unfortunate about your friend though...that was not deserved.
I like guns too, but the only difference is if i ever got a gun, i wouldn't load it ever, i'd just look at it and stuff
Guns are what stands between at least a facade of a representative government, and a dictatorship.
Guns are very useful tools that just need alot more responsibility and common sense than other things.
guns are the ultimate in home protection if you aren't a total dumbass, and thats what they'll be in the future for me. as for my car, just an aluminum baseball bat will suit me fine
If guns were illegal then the common people would have no protection what so ever if the goverment became corrupt.
Dude... I am sorry to hear that. Fucking people with there fucking guns! urrgh. Makes me mad.
I am sorry about your classmate but I believe it was a case of death by MTV. Teenagers think they're gangsta rappers and play like they're living in an Xbox world.
I grew up surrounded by guns as did most of the people I know. Everyone knew how to use them, how to be responsible with them, and I've never known anyone involved in an accidental shooting.
If the Police and Military are willing to surrender their guns also I would be for gun control. Until then it's one of our responsibilities as citizens and is one of the factors that distinguishes a citizen from a subject.
no they didnt think they were gangsters they were gettin chased by a bunch of scraps
"no they didnt think they were gangsters they were gettin chased by a bunch of scraps"
Okay, ...................................what's a scrap?
Guns are mechanical devices, they don't go "off", Rule #2 Keep your finger off the trigger.Quote:

Noted.... I heard a report on NPR just yesterday about banning knives in Scotland because of all the stabbings. Guns and weapons are always going to be around whether we like it or not. They're never going to go away. What we lack are sane and responsible citizens. That's the issue we need to work on because it's the only real option we have.
Well put:thumbsup:Quote:

Do they brianwash you people down there? Always hear the same american drone about keeping the king of england out of your face. Whats that all about? Like you are far less free than most british subjects, and the idea a mob of bubbas is going to rebel against uncle sam is hilarious.
Anyway i would rather meet a mugger with a knife than a gun.
Funny, I'd rather meet a mugger with a gun... actually, me with the gun and he/her with the knife.Quote:

We love our guns because it is our right and no government (especially our own) has the right to take them away. We love our guns because as Noah Webster put it ??Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword, because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretense, raised in the United States.? We love our guns because we are not ruled by our government we rule it and we have guns to ensure that never changes.

That's the difference-we're citizens, not subjects...
...and we choose to accept the responsibility. That's the difference you see, because we have the power to choose to accept that responsibility for ourselves. The woman being raped at gunpoint has the right to have a gun of her own.
A mob of bubbas rebeling against Uncle Sam or good King George I'm sure would seem hiliarious to you. But I suppose that's why you're still over there and we're over here :)
So 'keeping the King of England out of our face' has really become a metaphor, hasn't it? We choose citizenship, and philosophically, we choose to keep the king of england out of our face and out of our form of Government.
(by the way Likemclever, very nice post)
if i may quote that redneck dude on t.v. "guns dont kill people, people kill people. that would be like blaming misspelled words on my pencil".
sorry about your loss though
yah u guys have some good points and others have no respect making jokes on a serious incident
