how close is ur light to the plants?
Hi
it's mylar but looks like foil.
light is 24 inches away. its an air cooled 600w hps will put closer over the next few days. trying to break them in gently.
looks like a over fert prob but would need some more info . like temp and the nutes you are using.the prob with some nutes is that the instructoins on amounts to give are way out sometimes and some strains just wont have it heres a link to a thread that may help you out .nice set up mate good to see more uk growers doing their stuff .be safe the postman.
Hi postmandave.
temp is 83f and am using ionic grow current strength is cf 18-20.
if you spot things i can do to make the grow better please point them out.
Thanks for the link very useful. CHEERS
lookin great so far good job
Thanks Bud breath420.
I will add more pics when they look different.
Hi all sorry for the the delay in posting here are some pics at 21 days old.
Here are my recent pics at 31 days old nutes at (1260 ppm) and ph (5.9).
My tallest plant is 18" and three are at 15" and 1 stuck at 8" I took 2 clones of each today will leave them for a week then force flower just to sex them.
Then dump the males and keep the best female as a mother plant.
How much hight do you have to work with? Those WW's can do some serious streching. I would think about swiching that 18 incher pretty quick or you could be looking at a 4 footer.
Hope all is well, seem to be doing good.
Adieu
Hi BlueBear good to hear from you i have 9 foot so plenty of room to grow.
I have taken some clones to sex my plants with am looking to keep any females as mothers so dont want to flower them hoping to keep them in veg
for a long time.
Take it easy BlueBear.
Your grow is looking good Floyd :) ... Looking real good considering this is your first grow, looks like you have done your homework !!! What ferts are you using? I am trying to figure out which ferts to buy so I am open to all suggestions...
I hope alot turn out to be girlies for ya, keep us posted, and keep up the good work:thumbsup:
Hi puffyjoe,Am using (ionic grow) as i they are meant to help with the ph of the res and have to say they seem to work as my tap water is (ph7) and after adding ionic grow it normally sits at (ph6) so they been ok for me so far.
Take it easy.
Hey all, Here are a few pics of my clones any advice on when would be greatly appreciated are they to big to small to many leaves as am not sure ive never taken clones. They are wilting a bit is this to be expected. Cheers
Sorry I can't see the clones do to the old vision thing, but yeh, they look like they want to call it quits at first, for the first couple days at least. What is your cloeneing set up? Dome, heating pad, floros exc that may help me to understand a little better. Did you use rooting gel or powder? However bad they may look, don't give up on them to soon some go for almost a week looking like they are doing the limbo and then bounce back.
9FT, you are a lucky man. LOL
Adieu.
spectacular grow floyd. thuis is a prime example of doing your homework before you get down to growing well done mate .one of thos ak clones would make a good mother for me lol:thumbsup: since you are a uk grower we could maybe do a trade with some cuttings in the future. nice grow and set up mate well done. be safe the postman
Cheers, BlueBbear and postmandave.
My clone set up is a (propogator) (220w fluorescent pl4 prop light)(clonex gel)
And no heating mat but will buy 1 when i get paid. Can you tell me the ideal temp for the clones to be in.Today it's 84 hot day today.yesterday it was about 76.I know this fluctuation in heat can't be good.
And postmandave am always open to suggestions on trading.
Take it easy lads. CHEERS
Hi all, The plants i took the clones from look like there going to die i will post some pics tomorrow show the damage it's very sad. The clones look ok so dont know what i have done wrong but after all i am a newbie so must be expected to make mistakes i suppose but if they die i wont be discouraged just make me more dertermined to get it right next time.
YEE HAA,
I got roots on my clones can't believe how happy it made me feel even done a little dance and am a shit dancer lol.12 days after cloning and 4 have rooted i will check the rest tomorrow 2 out of 10 are dead but the rest look really healthy am happy as it was my first ever go at cloning.i will post some pics tomorrow show yeah some root porn.
Thanks. (BLUEBEAR and POSTMANDAVE).For exellent advice your both on my buddy list now so will be pestering you for advice in the future lol:
:) :D
WOW nice looking plants for a noob floyd you must of done some reading to do this well on your first grow hope your clones do you proud. Hope i can do as good with my first grow.
Goodluck m8
Zapper, your grow looks fantastic.
Congratulations.
I had my first taste of AK 47 last night and man oh man you are going to be happy. My boyfriend is a longtime smoker and we couldn't even finish ONE BOWL.
I want ROOT PORN!!!!! *drool*
So for propagator, do you have just a tray-and-dome setup, or a true cloner?
Are the slips in rockwool blocks or just Hydroton pebbles?
I'm really interested in your technique.
Hi stinkyattic thanks,Heres some pics they only just popped out so not that big but still it's roots lol. I used clonex gel then put them in rockwool cubes
then put them in my propogator and misted them 3 times a day for a week then misted once a day so they got use to less humidity for when i took them out of the propogator and put them into the system.
Take it easy girl,;)
Doing good. Did the plants you took the cuttings from recover? I hit my plants with a couple ML of SuperThrive when I take cuttings. Also, did you get cuttings from the lower part of the plant and how many did you take?
Adieu
Hi BlueBear,
The plants i took the clones of hav'nt grown at all and wont drink any water.here's pics before and 2 days after i cut the clones look bad, after you take clones are you meant to cut the whole branch away from the main stem
i left mine on but it dont look right just a bare stick.I might just kill them and put the clones in next week and clone the clones in about 2 weeks. What do you think would be the best option.
Take it easy blue.
When taking a clone you want to make sure that you leave at least an internode left on the branch after cutting or nothing else will grow most of the time.
Get some Super Thrive or a good foliar spray and hit your plants with it. Sometimes plants problems can be remedied threw the foliage better and quicker than the roots, especially since they arn't drinking much then it is harder to get them any stress relievers threw the roots.
Adieu
Am going to buy some (liquid oxygen) (superthrive) (nitrozyme) today.
Give them a try and post the results in a few days see if there is any improvement.
Take it easy Blue.
I put some liquid oxygen in the res yesterday and foliar fed them with nitrozyme and they have started to drink again and looked a lot perkier this morning.i think i have a pythian prob as the roots coming through the cubes are brown but the roots lying in the channels are white hoping to keep them alive long enough so i know which clones are female.
Take it easy Blue.
Remember when I asked you why you wanted to use the RW so badddly, if I remember right when we were talking about cloning? This is one of the reasons why. I do hope that it all works out. That wilt is a real thorn in the side and it will stop nute uptake like you wouldn't believe. There is a poroxide wash you can do if I remember right that may help them recover a little, I will try to do some research, I don't remember off hand exactly and I hate giving bad advice.
Adieu
Hi BlueBear if i use oasis cubes is there bigger oasis cubes to go into like the rockwool.Or rapid rooters do they have starter cubes and larger cubes to go into.Cheers
Take it easy BlueBear.
Can you use foil?Quote:

I havn't herd of any people having any problems with those oasis cubes, but I am not sure about the size. Over on IC mag alot of people use them it seems like so you may want to ask over there. I know Big Toke uses them on his clones before they go into the Bio Buckets which I want to try some day.
Adieu
Hi BlueBear think am going to get rapid rooters and chop them up an put them in a net pot with a clone in one rooter intact sat in the chopped up bits to try and limit the salt retention the rockwool gets loaded with the salt from the nutrients.I might give the bio buckets a go myself read a lot about them and bittoke seems to have amazing success with them.
Take it easy Blue.
What kind of hydro system do you have, and how often does your medium receive water? Also, what kind of nutes are you using?
Adieu
Am using NFT with ionic nutrients and the water pump is on 24/7.
I think that the RW is probably having problems with constent moisture retintion. I would try to think about using hydro ton or clay pellots to save you some headaches. My friend who was here yesterday said that he was pulling 3 OZ's per plant in a NFT. Just my thoughts. I hate to see fellow growers having multable problems. You want your grow to go as smooth as possible it is so much more enjoyable and saves money and time in the long run.
Adieu
Hi BlueBear, am going to use a rapid rooter in hydroton should run smoother.
This is my first grow so still lots for me to learn i got some superthrive for when am taking cuttings. So hopefully i wont stress the plant to much and give me more growth to take clones from.
Take it easy Blue.
