Undercover DEA Agent Mistaken For Robber

(CBS) LOS ANGELES An undercover Drug Enforcement Administration agent was blocked from leaving a marijuana facility because he had a gun and employees thought he was a robber, medical marijuana advocates said Saturday.

On Wednesday, an undercover DEA agent entered the Trichome Healing Center at 7100 Van Nuys Blvd., near Sherman Way, and was prevented from leaving until additional agents came to his rescue, a DEA official said.

The DEA agent was wearing a wire during a surveillance operation shortly before 2 p.m, and the DEA officials listening outside believed the undercover agent's identity had been compromised and that he was in danger, so they rushed inside.

Patient advocate Brett Stone said that Trichome employees believed the agent was there to rob the facility.

No arrests were made.

And since when is it legal for an undercover agent to just browse around in a legitimate business? granted it is not legitimate in the eyes of the FEDS but what the fuck, what makes them think they can just go around doing that kind of shit? Of course they thought he was a robber...lucky bastard is lucky he didn't get shot dead, if he were in many other places he would have.

I'm pretty sure they prolly could have gotten away with shootin' the leo in the leg.

I doubt the owners would be allowed to own a firearm or even want to risk owning one. Cause if they ever did get raided which happens sometimes I'm pretty sure the firearms would just make it worse. Firearms + drugs + court = jail time^2

legal business for making medical marijuana........

undercover DEA (pig in a blanket) having the only firearm in the facility and not showing a badge when confronted

whos really at fault here?????

But see, in America, it's okay for the government to break laws. This is fucking bullshit. Why was the DEA in a legal medical marijuana center doing undercover work? The states are their own government, and the federal government needs to stay the fuck out of our business. Moreso, the government works for us, and since when is it more morally correct to arrest people and strip them of their lives than it is to expirament with consciousness in ways other than the consumption of alcohol...

I think the security guard there was probably armed. Yesterday, a news story was aired about these two black guys posing as LAPD officers with a warrant disarmed the armed guard, tied up the people there, and made off with $12k worth of weed and $2k in cash.

This was in Hollywood

With LEO's going around these places undercover, the employees and patients need to be certain not to break the state laws, thus jeopardizing the legalization movement / patients' right to medication.
