Cabinet grow with bagseed
Me and my brother in law recently started a bagseed grow to have a run at it before we start the good seeds we are gonna get from drchronic.com. Our cabinet that we are growing in is 3' tall and about 2 and a half feet wide by 4' deep. We have one 120 watt 2200 lumen fluro on them and we also have a few strip lights but we havent gotten around to makeing a ventilation system yet so we cant run it with all them in there cause it gets too hot. Also a few of the plants have alittle yellowing of the tips and one of them actually the leaves are curling up which i think could be nutrient lock up or over watering, but here are some pics .......
First pic is of the biggest one.

second pic is of the tips

Third pic is the same plant as the first.

are you feedin them any nutes... because the plant with the yellowing tips looks like its suffering from some nute burn... the curling plant could be coming from the heat.. you said theres not ventilation? how hot is it getting in there?
-
Cabinet grow with bagseed
The average temp when the lights is on is around 80-85. Also no im not feeding it any ferts.

Cabinet grow with bagseed
I'm using miracle grow, and my plants look healthy so I'm hoping they'll continue to grow. Plants need light, water, and food to live. You give them that, and they'll give you smoke eventually.

Also i was thinking of buying a 70 watt hps flood light at homedepot with a 120volt ballast, do u think that would work?
-
Cabinet grow with bagseed
yes that will work very nicely.. but you will deffinatly need ventilation with that...you can even use the hps to veg if you suppliment it with some cool white cfl's... and about the nutes hmm does the soil their in have any nutes in it .. or maybe it could be a nitrogen def...
-
Cabinet grow with bagseed
Yes the soil is miracle grow so i assume it has nutes in it. Also im planning on making a carbon filter with fan and also im putting another oscilating fan in there.
-
Cabinet grow with bagseed
well then it seems like you have your cab very well planned out... about the m.g soil .. it just might be too rich for your little girl i would reccomend transplanting her into sumthing less rich... but thats just me.. either way best of luck

I think im gonna flush her then maybe transplant her to a 50/50 miracle grow and regular soil mixture.

Cabinet grow with bagseed
Do u think i should add sugar to the water of the sick plant because its stressed.
-
Cabinet grow with bagseed
the best thing right now is getting her out of that soil use something with nothing added to it that way you can determine where the problem starts you also have to test your PH or your plants will die.
MG soil has a high PH to begin with so to me its locking out any nutrients the water may have usually a yellow leave indicates a nitrogen problem but in this case i believe its your PH
-
Cabinet grow with bagseed
Yes we are working on fixing that problem. We have already transplanted the little ones into a better mixture.
-
Cabinet grow with bagseed
Well we went to lowes yesterday and picked up a ducting thing to make a carbon filter and its gonna most likely get painted flat white today. The plants have had a 100% increase in health! A full 180 id say. The sick one is no longer sick and is in rehabilitation mode, the yellow tips are fading away.Everythings great.:D :D
-
Cabinet grow with bagseed
What did you do to fix the yellowing? Just flushed it?
-
Cabinet grow with bagseed
No we switched it to half soil and half miracle grow.
-
Cabinet grow with bagseed
wtg glad everythings working out fer ya... is this ur first grow?
-
Cabinet grow with bagseed
I appreciate ur help alot and No ive done several grows all outside, so this is my first indoor grow.
-
Cabinet grow with bagseed
well its looking very good...and no problem for the advice ... its what these boards are for...
-
Cabinet grow with bagseed
I appreciate ur help and no ive done several grows all outdoors though so this is my first indoor grow .
-
Cabinet grow with bagseed
I was thinking of doing mylar or painting it flat white, what do u think would be better?
-
Cabinet grow with bagseed
mylar is better but flat white comes in close second...and also flat whit is cheaper..
-
Cabinet grow with bagseed
I got both on hand right now which one would u use?
-
Cabinet grow with bagseed
id use the mylar... paint needs to dry and seems you dont have the time right now plus mylar is more relfective just make it as tight as possible to get that mirror effect
-
Cabinet grow with bagseed
Thanx ill go with the mylar then.
-
Cabinet grow with bagseed
flush the plants with phed whater asap, when i say flush i mean use 3 gal of phed water with no nutes
anotehr problem your habing is the damn miracle grow soil it will let nutes out when ever it pretty much damn feels and the ph is off inthe sooil for the cultavation of mj, if you want to grow with miracle grow, just use it with no nutes and make sure you use phed water
-
Cabinet grow with bagseed
I already got that problem all sorted out but im probably gonna flush it once just to be sure.
-
Cabinet grow with bagseed
Everything is still goin good but we have to move to a new setup for security reasons. We will be using 2 rubbermaind bins on top of one another, ill post more pics later on.
-
Cabinet grow with bagseed
Finally got some new pics of the grow! Its goin great but they are getting a bit wilted. I suspect that there gonna need more nutes. Also the lights are now 1 100 watt fluro and 1 150 watt and soon to come a 70 watt hps, but i have a question. If i get a 70 watt hps can i change the bulb with a higher powered one and still use the same fixture and ballast or do i have to get a new fixture or new ballast.
The biggest

The whole lot

Cabinet grow with bagseed
the wilting can either mean the plant needs water or y o ur watering too damn much, can you get better pics of the plant?
as far as the light goes, no. you need to use the same bulb to match the balast,
-
Cabinet grow with bagseed
Im pretty sure it was just from underwater cause i saw that the soil was not wet, but its at my brother in laws house so i cant take anymore pictures until i go over there again but when i go ill be sure to take some. Also i think im just gonna keep the fluros in there when flowering with maybe a 150 watt hps.

Thanx, and yes im in the process of making a carbon filter but the pc exhaust fan im using just doesnt seem to be blowing that hard enough to i think make it through the actual filter part. I also got some more pics of the grow ill post them up in a second i just gotta get them outta my email.

Cabinet grow with bagseed
