not a high like i used to get...
when i first smoked pot about 7 years ago my experiences were very enjoyable. mellow, nice body high, able to think clearly. a few years ago i had my first really bad experience with weed. smoked myself stupid and ended up hallucinating really bad, twitching all over the place, and passing out. since then my highs have been filled with paranoia, very very cloudy, not that enjoyable of a body high, things seem very distant and i'm unable to focus. and this has been smoking low grade bud here in RI all the way to high grade strains in seattle and cali. i've read some shit about the differences between sativa nad indica highs and it seems i would definitely prefer indica highs, but i'm not sure if that's the case really. how exactly does that work? i mean, thc is thc, right? anyone else have this problem or have any advice? i miss being high like i used to be

I'm not quite sure how to explain this, but yes like you said THC is THC, however depending on the type of marijuana it will have a different impact on your body. You like Indicas, so that means you prefer the "relaxed, entire body is calm" high. Personally, I think that your tolerance to THC is simply too high. Take some time off smoking herb, and when you get back to it it should be much better. Or maybe you're just getting bad bud recently.

Don't smoke if you don't enjoy it. Try it again in a couple years, don't try to force it though. You had some good times on it, and some bad times. Don't risk having more bad times in hopes for good times.

It sounds like something that wasn't related to the weed caused that.
I won't go into the pharmacology of it, but THC doesn't really do that much to your brain... not permanently. You might wanna try to find out if something else is wrong... or if you do other drugs, that coulda done something.

sounds like it could just be anxiety. clear your mind and forget about any paranoid thoughts, might help.

Yeh just a panic attack. I got one after taking a bucket (gravity bong), first the hallucinations, not really hallucinations, just ur perspective changes a bit. But then your heart just goes fucking crazy, like a it's being torn apart and getting drilled into. You start thinking your going to die, so it gets worse and worse.
I just curled up into a ball and sweated it out.
It only happened because I took a really big fuckin hit, and I had been off the weed for over a month, so I took too much too quick.
Sadly two days later I took another bucket. And the effects were even worse, cus my paranoia was worse.
Went of the herb for 3 months, shit scared of it.
Then just decided to get over it. Started off 1 joint at a time, maybe 2 hours apart.
Just gradually got used to it. Then about 2 months ago I got pissed and took a lung, and it was fucking powerful. Amazing high, laughed my ass off playing Hitman with my mates. good shit.
Was back onto the big league smoking for a while, bongs pipes and killer joints to myself. Then a fucking weed drought hits the place.
Anyway, it's all in the mind.
Man the fuck up bitch.

shoi is dead on here. While some of these guys are on the right track, smoking marijuana can have adverse effects on your health. Marijuana can build up toxicity levels in your body that sometimes take weeks to go away. A heavy smoker is considered someone who smokes daily, usually about a 1/4 oz a day or the equivelent to about 4 good sized joints a day. At this rate the first physical signs are the feeling of being "tired" or foggy upon waking the next day after heavy smoking. Another symptom is your capacity to inhale to your lungs' full capacity. A way to test yourself is to lay on your back and take the deepest breath you can. You have excellent respiratory capacity if your lower abdomen (gut area) also rises slowly towards the end of your inhale.
Marijuana usually takes about two weeks to get out of your system enough to where you can think and make quick decisions or recall facts from short term memory. All heavy smokers build up a tolerence to marijuana that renders even potent weed to be unsatisfactory.
Your best bet if you want to stay somewhat healthy and also smoke heavily would be to take part in physical exercise in the area of cardio conditioning. The easiest and best way to go about this would be to ride a bike for a half hour every other day or something similar. This is what I do and I can still go to school and function in the real world. Hope this helped.
