How loud are police radios? Can you hear them from outside the car?
I was just microwaving some pizza muffin thingies, and I heard, very loudly, a police radio in the direction of my front door.
I am growing pot. Not really, it's more of an attempt turned shitty expirement, but I have two plants. In the semi-open for someone to come into my room. And due to the heat, we use EXCESSIVE amounts of power. Computers, fans, air conditioners, lots of showers, and then the 200 watts or so above the pot. Wtf just happened?

My cell has a walkie talkie so I allmost shit myself everytime someone says something.

*sigh*. Ya'll have been no help. I suppose if I do hear pounding footsteps and that harsh angry roar of police, i'll just grab the plants containers, open the window, and chuck them into the neighbors yard as fast as possible. I'll still have a closet filled with growing equipment, my bong, and alcohol/others though...

You are only growing 2 plants. That can't use that much energy for the police to be suspicious about. How many watts are you running at least?

Thats the strange thing. Very little watts for the plants themselves, but we constantly have: two refridgerators, two computers, television on 18 hours a day, lights(around 200 watts) on 18 hours a day, and when it gets hot, which on average this summer is around 5 days a week, 2 big air conditions and a fan running for 12 hours a day. Just due to the air conditioners, the electricity has spiked around 150 bucks.

Is an air conditioner that important? Ditch that as yes, those can cost an arm and a leg to run.

Firdges and computers are nothing to be alarmed about.

Don't leave your TV on for so long. 18hrs a day? You watch 18hrs of TV a day? My TV is on maybe 3 hrs a day, unless I fall asleep in my Lazy-boy, then it can be ony for hours. :p

Just cut down the use of your electricity. Don't leave stuff on that is not needed, and an air conditioner is not needed.

200W of lighting for 18hrs a day isn't anything to be alarmed about either.

I ran 200W of CFL's and a 150hps for a good 2 years, and it costs me maybe an extra $25 a month, so as for your lighting, that's nothing.

I ran a 1000Whps bulb for a good 6 months straight with no problems from police.

$150 electricity bills for summer (I assume..?) is nothing uncommon. When you start getting $700 bills, then there is something to worry about, but my monthy bill for electricity is about the same as yours. With me running about the same amount of lighting.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Maybe it was just one of walkie phones I see around that you heard. Who knows, but if you are that worried, I'd cut out the air conditioning.

I've never ever heard of the police going to someones house because of their use of electricity. Is that something new?:confused:
Our usage has zoomed with the adition of the hot tub too. I can just see it now.

i saw some mudcrabs on the beach the other day, i steered clear of them!

but in reply to other stuff.... i do no the DEA uses helicopters and such to search for abnormal amounts of heat in a house (created by a large grow), so i wouldnt be suprized if they also watch for increases of electic use, though i doubt theyd randomly send and officer

i think your best bet would have been opening the door and looking, act like you have nothing to hide

Do some research. In some places, the electric companies work with the local police department. A spike and major increase in electricity use = information handed to the police. It's happened before. They won't "arrest you for wattage" they'll find a reason to look around, and possibly get a warrant. Then, Guess what? They find the fucking pot you're growing.
