Why are there very few flowers on my babies ?

Hi Folks,
I'm in Switzerland where lots of us grow the kind herb. I have 5 x C99 females growing in my vegetable patch. The girls are pretty healthy and are each about 8 feet tall right now. My worry is that there are very few pistils showing. I would have thought that since C99 finishes in about 60 days, that I would see by now at least the beginnings of cola formation.
I should mention that we have had some crap weather recently, with temps. below normal. Since C99 should finish by early October and we are now nearing the end of August, should I expect a rush of blooming in the 36 days that theoretically remain or has the poor weather this month delayed things ?

Growing a Swiss Alpine Rocket (Indica) on my porch.

I'm a long-time indoor grower, and occasionally grow outdoors, like with the C99. I've grown C99 very successfully under lights and cross-bred it with a Swiss strain to produce a slighlty different variety than the original.
Hey, I've got a question for you since you're near Lausanne. What is the distribution scene like there ? Is it difficult for a non-grower to find good herb in the city ? What are prices like ? In Fribourg its around CHF 10.- /gram for 'normal' weed and up to 14.- a gram for high-quality indoor. AND it aint easy to find a dealer since the gendarme Fribourgoise are pretty repressive.

In Lausanne it's very easy to find, you just need to know where to go. There's a part of town called "Le Flon" where you will see dealers standing around and you can just walk up to them and nod. The smallest thing you can buy is a little bag for 20 francs, which is generally a gram or two. The quality really varies, i've gotten good stuff and I've gotten crap. It's good to ask to smell it before you buy it, at least that gives some sort of idea.

For good weed in this area of switzerland, it's the best thing to drive to Biel/Bienne. Its about 1,5 hours from Lausanne, prolly closer from Fribourg. They still have some coffee shops there, I've gotten white widow and such there.

Purple leaves are a feature of some varieties of flowering indicas. It is a genetic characteristic and is often provoked by a sudden cold weather spell. Nothing to worry about...I think it makes the plant very pretty !
Thanks for the info. on the herb scene in Lausanne. It sounds pretty much like Fribourg in terms of price and quality. Yeah I know about Bienne and the head/coffeeshops there...I normally pick up some good hash in Basel if I feel like a change from my own weed. There's a couple of guys there who only make hash....

hey you guys, I'm in Geneva! ISn't switzerland the coolest? We have a few parks here where you can always find people sitting outside smoking it up. It's very easy to find here. You can also order it off the internet. I never knew that there were coffee shops in Bienne. How do you find them? I'm doing my 2nd grow, my 1st outdoor and it's going ok i guess. It's been a weird summer with rain and cold and all. But my plants are still hanging on nicely. Can't wait until they are ready.

Hey Swisschick.. looks like quite a few of us Swisses are in and around this forum. Yeah I know about the parks in Geneve. Good places for Moroccan hash. I'd be real careful buying off the internet. The people doing it are asking for trouble as the cops will nail them for sure. I know somebody who got nicked doing this and the cops basically told him the thing that really got on their case was the lack of respect...
So tell us about your grow ! What strains, how many, etc. etc.

Yea, I've never bought off the internet because it seems a bit iffy. I'm embarassed but I have no idea what strains I'm growing! For over a year i just kept the random seed that I would find in my bud and last April I had about 30 seeds from different strains. I went through the whole process and had about 12 plants that started. Then only 6 were female, and in a true stoner moment gave 2 of them away to a good friend. It's actually been a fun project because I'm pregnant right now and they will be ready to harvest soon and I should be giving birth any day now. Hopefully by the time the baby is sleeping through the night, I can do a little taste test and check out the grow. But it's been fun and I've been nurturing my pregnancy and plants at the same time so I'm very excited about both! :) What nationality are you originally? I'm half American, half Swiss, and married to a french.

Well good for you ! I hope everything goes well with the birth. I'm always curious about what strains other people grow but I guess if you don't know.... can you post any pics ?
I'm half-Swiss, half-American as well......but more Swiss than American;)

yea sure. How do you do that though? I am curious to see what strain I have. One I have already cut and it is in the drying process.
