post harvest - revegging plants for cloning
Just harvested my 2 plants and all thats left now is the main stem and the lil sticks where the buds were... i am trying to reveg those plants.... so i can clone them (i didnt have a chance to clone them beforehand). I have them under fluorescents 20/4 but nothing is happening so far.... is there any chance they will grow new leaves?
should i change the soil or add fertilizer?:rasta:

Just give them lots of light and be patient.

What kind of soil? I had a plant that was so far in shock cut it at the top stem all the leaf off cause they where dead. And after 18 hour light cycles it grew new ones after about 2 weak.

It would be best to leave a few chice leaves next time...maybe just a few bottom branches since the amount of bud taken from them isn't alot

are there any leaves on it?
no leaves = no photosynthesis = no new growth = death

not entirely true.... clones with no leaves can reproduce themselves (known from experence) the leaves make sugars and turn c02 to 02
and dazed (not to be a prick by no means)
ive seen you have been wrong in other posts also (ie. the organic hydro thread) maybe you should read and learn before attempting to help others
(once again, not to be a prick)
we all had to learn to crawl before walking
and as far as re-vegging that plant, id maybe try some super-thrive (which helps to break the stress in those situations)
and maybe just maybe (not from experence) you may try adding some nitrogen to your nutes/ferts to help it come back into the veg. state

the plant needs leaves to have photosynthesis, like he said ... Superthrive boosts root-growth (and that's ALL it does, regardless of numerous posts about this product), the plant already has plenty of root-system, obviously, if it's been harvested ... I strongly doubt he will be able to re-veg a bare stem ... :smokin:

yea its cool i did some research up on that organic hydro post and yea i was way off on that
but the leaves also absorb the light for photosynthesis..which is vital.....of course
i've never heard of bringing a plant back to life with no leaves on it
maybe a clone...off of a vegging plant
but bringing the plant back into vegging after its budded without any leaves on it sounds very wrong my friend

I agree that it won't "re-veg" without atleast some green, but if ronjohn420 says he has seen it then it may be worth a try.
In any event flourecents are a good choice for the task.
Good luck

You definitely need a leaf to grow roots.

It HAS roots, AADW. No worries about that. As always, I say it's worth trying whether you think it'll work or not ... pot's an amazing little plant.

Make sure you have your nutes set for veg too. If you flushed before harvest and have not been giving them any food the soil will be lacking in nutes. Maybe transplant to new healthy soil if they are well enough to handle the shock.

Transplanting into New soil seems like the best idea, I'd say cut out as much bud as possible without damaging it. Leaving a main stem and no branches isn't really going to have a great chance of survival. New (with lots of vegging nutes like a good fox farm ocean forrest) soil and fluorescent light should work. Here's a link that may explain a little:

They can regrow from a bare stem, but the chances are reduced greatly.Ideally, leave some bottom growth in place.I use a 1/4 strength "veg" fertilizer in moderation until new growth is established. The plant will be stunned for quite sometime, so watch moisture carefully. Also, I have had some hermie from doing this(maybe 1 in 10).
