Why is being Drunk more acceptable than being High?

This is kinda a spinoff of my "Weed Only" topic. I want to make it clear I have nothing against those that drink. I respect every individuals own lifestyle choices. But the one thing that has always bothered me is the "Negative" light that the public shines on most Weed Heads.

I never understood why its generally accepted or considered "cool" to get drunk, black out, piss yourself and throw up. Yet Weed Heads are the ones who are looked down upon as if being High is somehow "Bad" or a "Sin". Or being a Weed Head some how makes you an unmotivated slacker. I don't get it. Is anyone else bothered by this?

because the govt. makes millions off of alcohol probably every week, or atleast every month... they don't make that on weed, actually they probably spend atleast twice that fighting potheads.... it's just another case of the govt. carrying on lies forever to control their countrymen, then they just can't eat their words, even 60-70 years later....

they've never seen a PSA announcement about drinkers being failures and doing stupid stuff. other than "dont drink and drive" its perfectly fine. think about any drug commercial you've seen. "drugs kill" "you smoke, and you'll become a lazy bum" "you smoke and you'll be a theif/wind up in jail". Its COMPLETELY unacceptable to most people to do something illegal. even the mention of DRUGS and people go ape shit. thats why they wait till 18 before they drink their asses off.

It's because people who work within the government are usually pathetic idiots, and can't find men/women to have sex with.. so they have to keep booze available so they can hit it off 1ce n a while...

Yeah, I mean don't get me wrong im not attacking the alcoholic movement because im a strong beleiver in "To Each its Own" I just wish that Weed was held in the same high regard. I truly feel that alcohol gets the respect and admiration that Marijuana should have. Its really a wonderful plant.

I agree with you 100 percent!! You took the thoughts right out of my head. The shit is just so wrong! You can talk to your co-workers all day long about how you got wasted the night before, but mention pot at work and next thing you know....

Well its more accepted because its legal. Can't get mad at people for doing what they are allowed. Alcohol is great for those social gatherings where weed might be frowned upon. It makes it easier to have conversations with people that would normally bore you.

Plus how many beer commercials have you seen where it shows beer as the best thing in the world?

In the US it's because our country is ran by drunken morons that can't make millions of weed (if legalized) so they make it propaganda to show that drinking is "cool". That way they can cash in on their liquor sales..

can't say i have, actually i go to the store often, while there often looking for chips for my wife (i dunno what it is but she loves chips and potatoes more than me X.X) thus i have a pretty vast knowledge of types of chips and i can't say i've ever even seen one bag of those....

very good idea, i'd like to play the part of the drunk so i can take the time to show just how they REALLY are, instead of some actor not showing how drunks really are...

an extra option tho, would be a drunk trying to start a fight with one of the stoners, and showing the stoner just laughing at him and offering him the weed to 'chill out'
