Hi, fellow weed puffer.
As you all know, the do's and don'ts of joint making can vary a lot from place to place. Some toast the tobacco, some don't, some roll them thin and some roll them fat.
So my question is: Which technique is best in terms of getting the most effect out of a joint?

Well, the most effect comes from straight shake in a zig-zag (rizla). Shapes, cones, whatever. Just roll a nice spliff, and yer good to go.

The debut-single, Pass The Dutchie, became a worldwide nr. 1 hit. It was a remake of the Mighty Diamonds' Pass The Kutchie, replacing the marijuana related 'Kutchie' with 'Dutchie', which means cooking-pot.

Im pretty sure dutchie came from people rolling with an emptied out dutch master cigar. These papers burn a lot slower than philly blunt wraps, but they are harder to roll with. Almost anyone can roll with a blunt wrap, but it really does take skill to empty out a dutch master and roll with that. I havnt smoked a dutchie in a long time.....
It seems that there is a general consensus about passing to your left. I would say so too.
What I'm wondering about is this: Should you treat the mix in a special way? Like heating it to make the hash stick to the tobacco? Is there an optimal way to do this?

I've been toking since '72, and I find that preparation counts alot. Ya gotta clean out the stems and seeds,ya gotta break down the bud into a combustable form,ie,no solid chunks and you can't have too fine a texture either..once ya do that,you have to balance out the size of the doobie,according to potency and number of folks present. You can't roll yer doobie too tight or too loose,once ya do all that,when ya toke,you breath in deep,and hold it in for at least 15 seconds-if not more..if ya feel like you're gonna cough..release the smoke slowly,like you would if you were underwater and rising to the surface. Be patient and don't hot-box the doobie..give marijuana,the respect that it deserves,as it is a blessing from God,clear your minds of negativity and be positive,take the time to light some incense. Don't breath shallowly,first inhale,from the abdomen,then finish fillin your lungs by expanding your chest..that way-the smoke will fill the deepest part of yer lungs..and maximise the absorption of thc.
My girlfriend and I,also have a hand-carved toker,made out of mesquite wood,that we use for almost every doobie,it makes it possible,for almost anyone,to give shotguns,because you don't git the doobie wet and it insulates you from the heat. Proper breathing technique,counts for alot,inhaling from the abdomen,then expanding the chest-kinda like yoga breathing. Inhaling through the nose when taking a shotgun,will further increase the absorption of thc,via the sinus's,where the mucus membranes are designed to absorb oxygen readily,instead,they will absorb the thc readily.
However,if ya mix tobacco into the weed,chances are,that you'll have to breath much more shallowly-I myself,don't like contaminating marijuana with tobacco..I don't want to git high on nicotine..I toke a doobie,to git high on thc.
Being a Texan,I tend to roll my doobies bigger than they should be-cuz everything's bigger in Texas !

Sorry about the double post, I forgot to mention,I always pass the doobie,to my girlfriend first,no matter which side of me she's on,and passing the doobie, in a clock-wise motion,is always best..like we say in the oil patch 'Keep her turnin to the right !'...lol
In late 1982, the song "Pass The Dutchie" was released by the band Musical Youth, a group composed of young black Jamaicans raised in England. Their song was kicked off by the strong declaration that "this generation rules the nation - with version!". Musical Youth's song "Pass the Dutchie" is loosely based on Mighty Diamond's song "Pass the Kouchie" (the latter is obviously a drug reference). Musical Youth insist that passing the dutchie is about passing a cooking pot, which caused a lot of skepticism. There may be some truth to this explanation, however, as a cooking pot is properly called a dutch oven. Kouchie is a word of Jamaican origin, referring to the bowl of a pipe. So, to "pass the dutchie", loosely, is to pass the pipe. And always to the left.

Now, I've received a number of reports from both employees and customers that you routinely pass the dutchie on the right-hand side, and sometimes will even pass it to the person sitting across from you. That is simply unacceptable. These Standard Operating Procedures are not, you know, are not negotiable, Peter. The dutchie is to be passed on the left-hand side, end of story.
