What's a subsitute for P?
SInce human urine is a good source of N (nitrogen) and should be mixed 1 cup to a gallon of water. I was wondering, what is a good source of P (phosphorus) to feed the plant when in flowering stage? Something practical that I can find around the house? Thanks

do you know if watering down urine to get nitrogen wld have more harm then good becuase pee kills plants.

well i can't say from an experience point-of-view that they do but it says in the grow bible that its an EXCELLENT source of N and should be mixed as accordingly then it must be good.. I will give it a try on my crop and prehaps report back.

lol if u use pee u'll be in trouble , urine contain N true but it also contains other stuff like bacteria and other nasty thing that u don't want to get on ur plants . plus would u smoke if weed if sumone told u they pissed on it . jesus why would u even want to use ur own piss in the 1st place . if u can't afford the right ferts man at least buy cheap ones that will do to u get the better stuff. plus how much N is in ur piss , how can u measure it . please don't tell me by taste!!!

Why not? Nitrogen is nitrogen.. Besides everytime I open up my grow I can certainly smell to some degree, the smell of urination even though I havn't fed any to the plants. If you have further questions about urine in the plants you should bring it up with the Grow Bible or some expert and not me because Im a newbie who is passing what I believe to be useful information. Anyways, my question still stands..

i'm sure there are much better methods which arent so extreme for obtaining the same results.lol.

exactly , and as for ur grow bible .. when was it printed , i bet in the mid 60's or 70's when good ferts weren't available. anyone can grow weed mate , jesus it will even grow itself , its done it for 1000's of years. u piss on ur plants all u want but what i am telling u is it will give u more trouble than its worth.

Not true. Urine is completely sterile leaving the body, so I'd imagine that pissing into a sterile specimen cup will ensure you're not going to introduce any pathogens to the plant. Can't comment on the effectiveness, but I can say you're not going risk infecting your plant using this method.
But urine does contain other compounds which may or may not be good for the plant: small proteins, creatine, etc.

Apparently you're not familiar of what all comprises the better organic fertilizers. Worm castings anyone?
I've not ever used urine, but being as I've considered using bat shit...why not my own pee? Least I know whats in me. Those bats could have been feasting on West Nile virus mosquitoes!!! (j/k)
Kamikaze is correct. Urine is sterile. And as long as you know what goes into your body, or perhaps a donating 2nd party...there'd be no harm in using diluted urine as a fertilizer.

i am not saying that pee won't work , ofcourse it has N in it, i tell u what , next time u grow pee on one of ur plants instead of feeding it and i will bet my house that it doesn't grow as well as the rest . also how do u judge the ph and strength of ur urine . also bacteria and other nasty shit will grow in ur plantpot which will affect the growth of ur plant. as for bat droppings u'll find that these have been sterilized to kill any of the other bacteria and stuff that will do u or ur plants harm . now the point u made about urine being sterile as it leaves the body which is true but unless u have a sealed sterile container to put it in ,how do u keep it sterile??? are u going to boil it ???
i like most of u have done most of my research to online or from books and i have never heard many of the socalled experts advising to use urine instead of ferts.
anyway thats enuff from me on this subject and i guess the question has to be" to pee , or not to pee" . i guess i'll just keeping pissing in the toilet and use my ferts to get these kinda results

What's a subsitute for P?
Hey Hall...
Presumably, a person would pee into a container, dilute it with water...then apply it to the soil. Considering how often people pee...keeping a batch of the stuff around would be totally unnecessary, and kinda...ew.
Anyway...I don't know my body's pH, but I do know it's regulated...a person's individual pH is a thing that is locked in for life. You can drink all the coffee, tea and orange juice you could stand, the pH of your pee won't change. Anything ingested is automatically buffered before being released into the bloodstream. And, were it either on the acidic or alkaline side...it'd be the simple matter of adjusting it as any other solution would be.
Far as what all occurs once it hits the soil...well...everything stops being sterile soon as it comes into contact with air, let alone a pot full of dirt.
Anyway x2...I'm not advocating the use of urine here...just noting that it'd not be a bad thing to use...and...it's free.

lol man .. plz don't be silly , the ph of ur urine does change , i am a nurse i think should know these things . if u are more dehydrated ur urine becomes more concentrated making the ph change either way from the normal . like i said earlier i have said enuff on this matter and if the guy that posted this thread wants to piss on his plants well good for him , but it is unclean and it is sumthing i wouldn't be telling sumone to do ,. can u imagine the smell with the lights burning . like sumone said earlier tomatoe food is cheap and thats what i used for the 1st 6 monthes i grew with great results.

The pH of urine changes...yes...when a person isn't healthy. I guess I should have...well...no...I'm okay making a generalization about pee.
Sorry, I'm no medical professional...I'm of the understanding though that a healthy body is forever maintaining/buffering one's pH to an ideal point.
I'll go ahead and stfu now before I end up with a foot in my mouth. :o

Well....
Risking tmi here...but...I've gone and tested the pH of my pee.
I'm a big time drinker of coffee each morning. So much so that I'm one of those that has coffee pee.
The pH of my coffee this morning is 5.5
I calibrated the tester, pee'd in 4 different containers (too see if it varied from early to mid to late in the stream), and took the readings...all are at 7.0
Hmmm...makes me wonder if I should be using me pee to calibrate at 7.0 :o
Anyway...once I got to wondering it, I had to check for sake of my curiosity.
Verdict...I've healthy kidney function and nothing in my bloodstream that makes utilization of essential minerals a difficult thing to occur.

Your urine is constantly buffered to be as close to neutral as possible. The only instances in which you'd deviate from this is due to various metabolic acidosis/alkalosis conditions, in which case you'd be much more concerned with your imminent death moreso than fertilizing your plants.

That does it!
Weekly urine pH testing is now a mandate! :p

Hey guys thanks for all the input but no one has provided an answer to my question so far, anyone?

Everyone went off about pee and never answered the poor guys questoin.
Sources of phosphorus(P) poultry manure, rock phosphate, bone meal
If you have a dog his dry dog food most likely contains bone meal.

Um, okaaaaaay....
That's not the brightest statement you've ever posted on here.
That 'bleaching' didn't come from urine. It's part of the body's defense system against bacteria growing in the cooch. Otherwise us ladies would have yeast infections all the time! And THAT would be narsty.
Also pee is sterile. Someone said it had bacteria, it doesn't.
But it does have urea, which can burn plants. If you insist on peeing on something, go take a whizz on your compost heap. That will give compost bacteria time to process your N sources into good, healthy plant food.
I love composted chicken manure for my plants. They love it too.
