anyone been to san francisco?
next summer me and my friends are planning on going on a vacation together for the first time just us. i was wondering if san francisco is worth going to. (we live in new york). is it similar to new york city or is it a lot different. i was wondering if any of you have been and what did you think of it? was it fun?? or should we try somwhere else (we're also thinking mexico-i've been there before). i would def. like to see the golden gate bridge and haight ashbury area. also this might sound stupid, but there are beaches around SF right? i heard that the wharf was a cool place to visit also. we are 19, so we wont be able to legally buy beer or get into any clubs, but i think fake I.D.s might work at some places/bars and even like gas stations to buy some beer lol. does anyone know if it would be easy to find some buds to buy in that area (safel..or as safe as possible lol) any tips on SF?

I live near the city. yes, there are beaches in san francisco. Ocean Beach is worth checking out. It's nice to get a few joints and take them up to Ocean Beach. The beach has sand dunes, where you can smoke in seclusion. Stay away from Fisherman's Wharf though--that's just a tourist trap, something you can see in every town!
I don't expect you will find San Francisco to be much like New York. SF is more of a small town atmosphere. Getting some bud should'nt even be a problem--i'm pretty sure the cops don't give a fuck in San Francisco.. Just walk down Haight Street, and you'll be asked by like 5 or 6 people if you want to buy some pot. Make sure you see the weed before you cough up the dough--i've been ripped off on the Haight. Or you can walk through Golden Gate Park (where haight ends) and people will say things like "green buds" or "bubble bubble" or "you got any nuggets?" yeah, they're all referring to pot. again, make sure you see the product before you give the money. you should get an 8th for about 50 for good shit. 20 dollars will get you 1 gram of good shit. haight is probably the best place to get weed because well... so many people smoke weed on the haight :)
dont even trip about buying your buds because nobody gives a shit in the city. just don't flaunt it. i've gotten away with smoking joints with friends while walking downtown in the financial district in a huge crowd of people. the cops just have bigger fish to fry, if you know what i mean :)
I recommend you check out the presidio area--near the golden gate bridge. after you smoke up, go down to the fort under the bridge. it's really fun and beautiful, and especially surreal. Also, downtown is fun for it's big-city atmosphere. there are some good restaurants in the castro district. Twin Peaks is worth checking out at night time also--it's truly beautiful.
it's fairly easy to get to haight street. from market street, get on the 71 bus and it will take you right there. enjoy your time in the city :)

now i just gotta convince my friends to go to SF next summer rather then LA
i jsut dont want them to think it sucks when we get there and blame it all on me lol. we would prob be staying anywhere from 5-7 nights. will we run outta fun things to do? how long would you recommend staying there

You should definitely stop by and check out SF. Best damn city in the world. Ok, thats a little biased seeing as I live in the area, but honestly, it is a great city, and you will not be disappointed. Haight & Ashbury are easy places to find great bud, but be careful because people will be trying from square one to rip you off. It's a buyers market, so if some guy won't be reasonable, just walk away and find someone else. There isn't anything he can do to you, and it may just convince him to make a deal.
Golden Gate park is beautiful, as is the Golden Gate itself. Walk through downtown at night, the skyscrapers lit up and the Bay Bridge are gorgeous. Also, if you have a chance, swing through Oakland and go into the hills at night, excellent views of the entire Bay Area lit up before you.

i lived in Manhattan for a while. I live in San Francisco. You wont find me east of the Rockies , again.
Let me know when you get here. I am just blocks from the, Haight. SF is nothing like nyc. Sf is beautiful. We have beaches, but big waves, cold water, and some of the strongest water currents on earth. Seals, Otters, Great Whites, are everywhere.

If you're going to San Francisco
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair
If you're going to San Francisco
You're gonna meet some gentle people there
For those who come to San Francisco
Summertime will be a love-in there
In the streets of San Francisco
Gentle people with flowers in their hair
All across the nation such a strange vibration
People in motion
There's a whole generation with a new explanation
People in motion people in motion
For those who come to San Francisco
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair
If you come to San Francisco
Summertime will be a love-in there
If you come to San Francisco
Summertime will be a love-in there[/hippie]

you bet. you can tell who lives here by the size of their calve muscles.
we San Franciscans have to have some of the tightest legs in the country.
I use to take my scooter to the top of the Taylor Street hill, and ride down it.
fuck. Totally insane. Now the big thing is roller-blades. People with strap camera's to their helmet and ride down the hills , filiming it, and then putting the film on channel 29 all access tv. Channel 29 is a station here in the city that any person can go on and be on tv. Lots of good talented people on it.
People make their own movies, have plays, bands, etc etc.

The autumn carried along with it, like the roller coaster of a flesh-eating plant, port wine and the people who drank that dark sweet wine, people long since gone, except for me.
Always wary of the police, we drank in the safest place we could find, the park across from the church.
There were three poplar trees in the middle of the park and there was a statue of Benjamin Franklin in front of the trees. We sat there and drank port.
At home my wife was pregnant.
I would call on the telephone after I finished work and say, "I won't be home for a little while. I'm going to have a drink with some friends."
The three of us huddled in the park, talking. They were both broken-down artists from New Orleans where they had drawn pictures of tourists in Pirate's Alley.
Now in San Francisco, with the cold autumn wind upon them, they had decided that the future held only two directions: They were either going to open up a flea circus or commit themselves to an insane asylum.
So they talked about how to make little clothes for fleas by pasting pieces of colored paper on their backs.
They said the way that you trained fleas was to make them dependent upon you for their food. This was done by letting them feed off you at an appointed hour.
They talked about making little flea wheelbarrows and pool tables and bicycles.
They would charge fifty-cents admission for their flea circus. The business was certain to have a future to it. Perhaps they would even get on the Ed Sullivan show.
They of course did not have their fleas yet, but they could easily be obtained from a white cat.
Then they decided that the fleas that lived on Siamese cats would probably be more intelligent than the fleas that lived on just ordinary alley cats. It only made sense that drinking intelligent blood would make intelligent fleas.
And so it went on until it was exhausted and we went and bought another fifth of port wine and returned to the trees and Benjamin Franklin.
Now it was close to sunset and the earth was beginning to cool off in the correct manner of eternity and office girls were returning like penguins from Montgomery Street. They looked at us hurriedly and mentally registerd: winos.
Then the two artists talked about committing themselves to an insane asylum for the winter. They talked about how warm it would be in the insane asylum, with television, clean sheets on soft beds, hamburger gravy over mashed potatoes, a dance once a week with the lady kooks, clean clothes, a locked razor and lovely young student nurses.
Ah, yes, there was a future in the insane asylum. No winter spent there could be a total loss.

I've been all around this country and ain't no place I'd rather be than here in the San Francisco area. Beatiful scenery, great people, and some of the best weed around. Pretty much anywhere around here you can go from the city to wilderness with less than a 20 minute drive. Do some shopping in Union Square, score some fine organic SF buds, then drive across the Golden Gate to the Marin Headlands where you can sit high on a mnt top and watch the fog roll over the Golden gate. Heaven on earth

Um, if 1/8th is 50, shouldn't it be 10 bucks a gram? Because I got an 8th for 50 and the going rate here is 10 bucks a gram. And yeah I'm talking good shit for both of those.
