Who here likes the grateful dead?
And if you do, what's your favorite song?
St. Stephen. No matter how many times I listen to it, I still am left speechless.
FUCK YEAH!!!
St. Stephen is definately one of the best.
Somebody told me that phish played it at a show somewhere...anybody know where to find it?
Hmmm, try searching on etree they have tons of Phish shows, as I'm sure you know. It wouldn't surprise me that they played it though. I know Keller Williams plays that and tons of other Dead songs all the time! Keller's version of St. Stephen is so tight, too. ~
my aunt was way huge into the Grateful Dead with her late boyfriend, they would go and tour with all their shows collecting and trading tapes with other dead heads
my favourite song is Scarlet Begonias but only because I heard Sublime's version first
I first saw The Dead back in 1985 and was hooked. From that point until Jerry's death in '95 I went to more than 30 Dead shows, 15-20 Jerry Band shows, and a couple of Bob shows here and there. As the saying goes "There is nothing like a Grateful Dead concert"
Hard to say what my favorite song is, there's so many. Loose Lucy was always a good first set song, upbeat and fun "Thank you, for a real good time". For 2nd set tunes Eyes of the World, Terrapin, Playin in the Band, and, of course Scarlet>Fire was always a classic.
Damn, I miss the good old days. What I wouldn't give to see another show.
Here's some pics I took back at a Shoreline Amphitheatre show back in '93.
I love them, i like Stuck In the Middle With You, Casey Jones, Mountains of the Moon, Shakedown Street, When the Morning Comes, Whiskey in the Jar, and Ripple
i'd have to say my favorite is "Thats It For The Other One"
We sold "Brownies" at that show!!!Quote:

Alpine Valley was great. I caught the Alpine shows in '87 and '88. Awesome shows but the crowds were a bit much. Especially the hordes who came just because Touch of Grey was a hit. Another great show was up in Eugene Oregon in '88, it was an all day show starting with Jimmy Cliff, then Robert Cray, and then The Dead.Quote:

Everybody in the crowd went nuts. Oddly, I started bawling like a little baby, tears of joy really, of course....my mind was a little altered at the time. Amazing what 4 grams of good shrooms can do.;)
'87 at Alpine had my all time favorite China>Rider. The peak right between the two was awesome. Do you remember the crazy jungle animal sounds just before drums? Crazy, a bit too much for one of my buddies though.Quote:

One warning. Never try to out-smart me. You will never be as smart as i am. never.
Just because you can out-smart your dog, dont mean you have the capacity to out-smart humans. got it?
WTF? Rastakaze is back. I thought that lying piece of shit ran away in shame after his fairy tales were exposed. LOL. Guess he figures they'll be a bunch of new blood here now that won't know him for what he is. What a clown.

If that aint the biggest case of the pot calling the kettle black. Seems your grudge against Daima is still there. Shit, I wouldn't have said anything if you hadn't hijacked this thread with your crap.Quote:

Spinners, LOL. I remember seeing someone with a "Spinner Insurance sold here" sign at Shoreline once. Navigating through the spinner section was always fun. Especially when "altered" ;)Quote:
