another question the room i have them in is kinda dark is it better to use a small blub like 100watt to alteast keep it lit? im a noob it sucks
no one? :(
Hey, I got 6 baby's too from today.
I think you should put enough light on them so they don't stretch in search of light, keep the soil moist but not wet and if you can try too have a high air humidity.
thanks i have moved them into the window ledge for now with light from 6am till 9pm they are just now breaking dirt and i can see them finnaly starting. should i add anything into the water mixture right now i just use bottled water from my water cooler and warm it up so it doesnt shock the plant i just leave it on the ledge as well to change to room tempeture.
no i wouldent add any newts untill you are going to flower but eventually you are going to need a light i would recomend hps .good luck

you will need to pick u p some nutes aswell gh nutes is what i use with all my plants + other suppliments, you will want to feed them nutes through the veg stage and bloom, gh has a nice li ttle chart for this forr the nooblets....
liek iv always said on og use the search often , befor y ou know it youll know how to use the search function good enough to find what yo u need and good luck:thumbsup:
here are the babys i have just been leaving them outside and watering them no nutes yet. i just moved them indoors tonight and they are now under 2 100Watt bulbs will this help at all im trying to keep them under 24 hour light but are these bright enough? what kind of nutes should i be using now also plan on buying some this week.

with bringing them indoors and under those 2 very low watt lights they still seemed to grow alot over night its the first time they have had 24 hour light they had always been outdoors at 12/12
u want cfls man...put a box over them and stick som cfls about 3 or 4inches from the plant...u want about 50w per square foot, u taking them outside everyday and moving them inside can cause stress, not to mention the risk of pest...
run to walmart and buy some cfls its like $8 for a 42w bulb grab a couple of those and ur set
i have left them inside now for over 36 hours and they are taking off!! i leave and come home and notice growthQuote:

why do the leaves look soo differnt now that its inside they are standing alot more look at the picks i have just noticed this since moving indoors notice the growth?
CFL's are compact fluorescents. They sell them at any hardware store, just ask.
The problem is, the amount of light you're giving them is not sufficient. Yes, you see growth but it's not the growth you want, necessarily, since they're stretching to get closer to a light source. You're definitely going to want to get some cfl's, get them one or two inches from the plant, and get it on a correct lighting schedule. You may be able to save yourself from male, but there's already some stress done. Wait and see I guess.
im going to get them closer to the light tonight and tomorrow go buy 3 of the blubs as thats what the outlet holds for blubs thanks for the info so far ill keep you posted.
No, they'll take cfl's too. If you're talking about cfl's and I misunderstood cool, but incandescents won't work.
the incandescents are coming out tomorrow and 3 new cfl's will go in tomorrow. what watt cfl would you recommend for 4 babys and the outlet will hold 3 blubs should i use 1 or all 3 cfls?Quote:

Here's some advice about advice: if you ask people questions, half the answers will probably screw you up. If you seek out the answers yourself, either by reading books, or by reading posts and growlogs (or FAQs) by people who obviously do know what they're doing, the quality of the information you soak up will be much better, and your results will be too. Of course, that's just my opinion, and just like assholes, everyone's got one. ;)
lol great post.. well consider this my first grow and grow log and like everyone before me ive been doing alot of reading plus posting in my own thread so i can look back and see how i have been doing.
the cfls i have only put out 800 lumens each does that matter if i use 3? what # should i be looking for?
The principle is to have 50w per square foot, or 3000 lumens per square foot. You may need to plan your flowering area and the number of plants you want to grow and work from there. Most books reccomend to put plants in a 12" pot, although I use 10" and many of my friends use 8". Look on this page and find the 2 very cool videos on growing. Very cool. Of course, as my predecessor says, opinions are like assholes- we all have one and they all stink. Books conflict about nutes for seedling, but I find most say to use them very diluted. Maybe because the growing mediums these days are designed for drainage and airation. Who knows?
check out those videos.
mre pics, 1's not growing :(
