My first ever growing guide.......
Been growing now for just over a week and decided its time i posted some piccys and stuff.
How ive started:
I germinated my seeds in damp tissue paper, 5 in total. It took just over a week for 2 of the seed's to start seedling. I then transfered them in to multi purpose compost for about a week in my closet on a 24 hour light cycle.
Im currently using to flo's both at 40w. One is coolwhite and the other is a pinky colour. I will add more light as and when needed.
After about a week i built my hydros and transplanted the seedlings straight into them, using a 24-8-16 nute. My nute is 1 gallon fert and 1 gallon normal water so its a dilute of what it is. Heres a few pictures of my basic hydro setup and my plants.
My lights are now also set to 18/24.
Will post more piccys and info as and when.
Sorry about the picture qaulity it is only a .1 mega pixel camera and is no good at close up, but i will borrow a cam at some point of a m8 and take better pictures.

That 18/24 was probably just a typo but I just wanted to bring it to your
attention that it should be 18/6 just incase it wasn't.

My first ever growing guide.......
your plants are stetching for light like crazy you need to move that light about 2" from the top of the plant or its going to fall over and die not to mention you need some form of fan in there with the plant to create movement of air and to make the stem stronger.
oh and chill with those nutes untill the plants is 2 weeks old atleast

Some would put 18/6 but i use 18/24 which means 18 light out of 24.

The light is 2" from the plant and i have a constant supply of air in the closet as well. The stem's on the plant are long due to them being grown in compost under natural light for the first couple of days.
And the nutes that are in are a dilutetion ne ways

Isn't it a little early for nutes? Surely the plant hasn't used the nutes that were already in the soil, right? I always thought no ferts until just before or just at flowering.

Im using hydros for my grow and if i dint use nutes untill flower then i wouldnt have ne plants to flower. You start using nutes once ur about 2 weeks into the veg stage.

18 hours of light just slows down vegetative growth. There are no negative side effects to continuous light in the vegetative stage, except that the plants grow faster. I assume you know that, and have some reason to keep them from growing too fast? (I had to slow down growth once myself, because I had to make a trip out of town before flowering, and cut their light to 18 hours/day to do it.)

I was gonna keep it on 24 hour light, but im not in a lot of the time to keep checking on them due to work.
But as of next week they will have more flo's in there and a new room, as im building my flowering room into my closet and adding CFL's to it.

My first ever growing guide.......
Well here's some piccys of my little babies, They have now been going for about 2 weeks and they are lkooking good.
I will post some better piccys as soon as ive got a new camera.
-
My first ever growing guide.......
Bit small for 2 week olds arent they? I have some 2 week old outdoor plants and they are twice the size of that and they only get maybe 5 hours of direct light a day?
-
My first ever growing guide.......
Does look kinda small. Here's a pic of a sprout I have, which is exactly 14 days old (but it has been under constant light 24 hours/day). Doesn't mean you will have any probs though; some plants/strains just grow faster than others.

My first ever growing guide.......
Its grown upwards quicker than it has outwards, but my next set of leafs are comming through. Should have some decent piccys as well as of next week.

My first ever growing guide.......
Just got another 2 of my little babys back from my m8's and they are looking good.
-
My first ever growing guide.......
why are they in the same pot?... you should really put one seed to a pot to avoid the risk of shocking the roots during transplant when they are bigger...
-
My first ever growing guide.......
if u dont transplant them into seperate pots, they will die(most likely)
-
My first ever growing guide.......
Probably too late; their roots are probably entangled by now. Could kill one of them though. But then the dead one's roots might rot and hurt the living one. Hmm, a predicament.
-
My first ever growing guide.......
Transplanted them yesterday, both plants are doing fine.
-
My first ever growing guide.......
Plants are now in full nute's and are looking good, will post some pics l8r.

My first ever growing guide.......
Just thought id add some more pics.
Changed my lights about a week ago to CFL's my plants seem to be doing better under them than they where under the flo's.
I do have a current problem with one of the plants, all its leaves have got burnt tips.
Im using the following:
18w x3 CFL's
28-8-16 nutes diluted
18/6 light cycle
My other plant is doing fantastic not a problem with it all and its on the same as the other. Ive changed the nutes twice, i was wondering could it be caused by root damage. Will post pics as soon as i get them of my m8. As i had to use his camera as it was better than my own.

My first ever growing guide.......
Heres some pics of the plants that have burnt tips.
On the next post is the plant without burnt tips, this is what has got me cause 1 is ok but the other 1 isnt.
