just curious but u really think they monitor this site?
If they did, i dont think they are going to waste time tracking some one down because of something they posted on a cannabis website.
stfu.
if they do watch the site, they can't prove anything based on what people post here. they would have to catch you in the act just like they bait and hook those pedophiles they catch on the internet.
:smokin:
yup just posting isnt enough evidence to search or arrest you.. plus this cops sitting here checking out this site would be a waste of time, im sure they have quotas to reach and I doubt they're going to get it from this site :thumbsup:Quote:

I love it!!! A doughnut-eating cop in our very midst!
Wonder if he has the munchies???? He doesn't look like he's wanting to bust anyone.
Dang, I want a doughnut in the worst way. . . .
oh sry about the whole name callin thing then :P
wonder what gave the cop the munchies to get a donut in the first place...*cough*:D
Yes, they are on this site. Maybe not the department in your city or state, but some LEOs are out there.
Computer technology, unfortunately, leaves an electronic footprint that is (usually) admissible in court. Police CAN, with the proper paperwork, collect very traceable IP addresses from sites like these and use them in their investigations. It is done ALL THE TIME to bust child pornographers, and while I support that application, there is always the chance they could use it to bust growers through sites like these if things got slow enough. This worried a lot of people after the shutdown of Overgrow...
Good news is, police in the U.S. have better and more "sure" things to deal with than going after people who post on sites like these. In their eyes, we're small fishes. If you were a rich drug kingpin, would you post about your life on this site? I think not.
Anyhow, if you're paranoid like me, just stick a well-worded and clear disclaimer in your signature. It's hard to grant a search warrant with a legal cock-block like that at the bottom of an incriminating post.
I personally don't think that a disclaimer would do anything if they wanted to bust you.
It's kind of like having a meth lab in your basement, but having a big sign on the door that says, "This room is for entertainment purposes only, and as such, nothing in this room should be considered admissable in a court of law."
Well, there has been police activity here before, thats how i found out about this site, it was in a local news paper.
Weather they are on these days we dont know, and unless they tell us we wont know.
You'd think they'd have better things to do, like real policing.
exactly!! most pot smokers are not criminals or even dangerous why don't they go after real criminals like rapists and murderers? leave us alone:confused:
legally, disclaimers mean NOTHING ! ... if you're that paranoid, buy an "Anonymizer" program that falsifies your IP address ... about $25 a year ... personally, I think marijuana users should publicly DEMAND legalization, march in the streets to demand your personal civil rights, and be prepared to sit out the consequences, ... instead of sitting in a dark room with the shades pulled, toking up, and fearing the Law ... :smokin:
police have better things to do than monitor phone calls and the internet for people talking about smoking weed. i hate when i talk on the phone about smoking weed and people are like "DUDE WTF COPS CAN HEARRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!" yeah maybe they can, but they most likely aren't.
I really dont care if they are or not.
What's an LEO?
police only have ONE priority

of course they're here...count on it! but it takes one in your immediate area who knows exactly where you live before it'll matter on a personal level. but you'd better believe they're here if for nothing else than to keep tabs on the lingo and culture...and to gather evidence for why it should never be legalized!
It all comes down to this...DO NOT post anything specific that you wouldn't want someone to know. If you were growing, would you run and tell your nieghbors? Most likely not...so you shouldn't post your picture on a cannibas word with obvious references to where you live.
Not pointing to a specific situation, but if you understand (or take the time to understand) the law, then alot of situations can be prevented and avoided altogether. It really does fall down to common sense.
But in answer to the OPs question...no doubt. THere are various local, state, and federal agencies that monitor this board and others that are similar...at times. I hardly think Agent. FatAss is sitting in his chair, ready to pounce. But...if someone leaks enough incriminating information, it will find its way back to the appropriate agency.
Leos? no problem, bribe-list of 2006:
50$US/per person :D
The only difference between having a disclaimer online vs. real life is that online anyone can lie, and it's basically saying "HEY I'M LYING" while in real life you'd probably have the proof right there.
LEO = Law Enforcement OfficerQuote:

And if they are, how much harder would it be to find our what physcial address their posts are being sent from? Now true, you wouldnt want to this with everyone that posts a picture of a seedling, but you might be inclined to put forth more effort on the BIG ones, the ones with pictures of 100 capacity cloners, and 3 or more HPS systems.
1000Watts that is
your little disclaimers wouldnt be a magic potion for keeping them from further monitoring, or looking into you to determine whether or not you are worth the legal efforts on their part. Remember, investigations can take months to years. And as far as investigations go, agents can do what they have to do to enforce the law. This includes lying to you as a part of playing a role which would accomplish said objective.
Disclaimers MAY OR MAY NOT keep that particular piece of evidence from being used against you. And typed words would probably not hold up in court. But they could use the typed words to find you, and then use subsequent evidence against u.
And for those of you who think they have quotas and better things to do, catching drug manufacturers and/or distributors ARE their better things to do. U might be thinking a street cop, but not a dedicated agent, division, department, or agency. Like the Drug Enforcement Agency. There is a war on drugs in the U.S. That is a reality, you cant be in denial that "they have better things to do"
just be smart, fellas:pimp:
thats the bottom line, trippin hippie, u know whats up
if they wanna catch us the gota catch us first
You guys need to do your homework ! You can't get busted for talking about ANYTHING ! IT's called the 1st ammend baby! We talk shit all day long, can say we smoke, shit, snort or anything else. I got busted once casue I had some in the car , but we can talk all day long so everyone needs to relax.
Right, but the point is by you expressing your self, you are drawing attention to urself
Read what i said about that particular piece of evidence. It wont be the official nail in your coffin, but how many times have peoples mouths gotten them in trouble, despite First amendment rights?
lol when did obeying the amendments mean anything, i mean hell the government showed us they by tapping lines.Quote:

But on the flipside...look at these pics people post up, holding bud upon bud upon bud...face not hidden, nothing. Mind you, some people are smart about it, but some people just don't care. To an LEO, it's not rocket science (anymore) to dig through posts and start culling information....in this post you said you're growing, then in another post you show a picture of your set up in a closet, then in another post you mention it's upstairs in the unused bedroom, then in another post your show pics of your harvest, then later you show where you keep your stash.
Guess what...in a single post, this hypothetical person has given nothing away. But in doing some simple research, those circumstances above equal a warrant, baby. That's why I said, don't post anything you wouldn't want someone in real life to know. If you do, you have just in effect told the world...
I think everyone should do this one experiment...google for your user name and see what comes back. Recognize any of the boards that come up? Recognize any of the messages? Is anything you found something you would tell any one in a face to face/'real life' situation??? Think about it...
