18 and no job. I need some serious help!

My mom knows i smoke pot and shes pretty chill with it as long as i dont let it get out of control and as long as i dont drink. im 18 and i need to get a job to start bringing in some money and this IS NOT AN OPTIOIN occording to my mom.

Well i know that fast food places dont drug test but i dont want to work in fast food or at pizza hut. i want a slightly higher end job that for SURE does NOT drug test, because im a daily smoker. somthing like a grocery store or small shop. any ideas? i have a blockbuster, radioshack, baskin robins, baha fresh, office depot, and wal mart all by my house.

I REALLY need some suggestions cuz i dont want to rush myself into working in fast food just cuz of a drug test. any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. if you konw if the stores listed DO or DO NOT drug test, please post. thanks guys

Well, by my own experience, a lot of places that say they drug test actually don't. Just apply to a few places and pick the one that doesnt actually test. Even if they do test, the worst that can happen is you don't get the job.

Usually on the application they tell you they do a drug test/screening. Most of the time it's near the E.O.E. explanation. Most corporates test, but independent stores don't (drives up cost). So anything with a corporation attached to them, they probably drug test. And like Blazed and Confused said, even if you fail, the worst thing that will happen is not getting a job. They don't keep a track record of how many drug test you pass or fail.

You could always get clean urine or synthetic urine. That way you can work anywhere you want. The worst that can happen there is you dont get the temp right and dont get the job.

I had a heroin addict cousin that worked in Wal*Mart... He worked there for 5 months till he got caught stealing...

The thing is my mom only lets me live in her house and smoke pot when it DOESENT INTERPHERE with ANYTHING in my life. and if i fail to get a job because of a drug test (especially cuz i need it to pay rent to my greedy ass mom) she'll be pretty pissed cuz i lied to her and said i could pass one if i needed to cuz i would take a break if needed.

as long as the drug test is confirmed on the job ap then all i have to do is pick up a bunch of job aps and pick the best one without a test. are you SURE all ap's state that they test?

I have a good paying job and I smoke everyday.....dehydrated urine is the only way to go as far as im concerned.

yeah dude....read some of the posts on here. Substitute the urine and you are golden. There are many posts on here that you can read about substitution.

Go get some quick fix, or someones clean whiz and get this thing done.

dude i dont want to have to worry about failing cuz my mom would be pissed and probably kick me out cuz i said i was quitting before i went to college. I really just want to find a place that doesent test.

blockbuster and walmart both test, ive worked at both
where do you live? if there's a giant or martains (grocery stores) around you, i know for sure they don't- i'm not sure about other groceries.

or move out of the states :D
i worked for the IRD in NZ and me and most the people i knew there smoked quite often- no drug tests at all ;)

good luck man. and if you have to, just give the weed up for a month. it sucks but its better than being out on the streets.

Who cares if they do drug test..thats why they make those drinks. if you are really poor..get that stuff they make jello out of at the store..use some Vitamin B12 to get the color back..and your golden.

I'd jsut go to a head shop and get a 40 dollar drink and lay off for 3 days before your drug test/ Problem solved dont even need to worry about a stupid fucking drug test

if your that worried then dont smoke for a few weeks, also i think borders book store doesn't drug test and maybe barnes and noble doesn't either?? but if you want a better job and refuse to quit then go work at burger king until u decide otherwise. I have a friend in a similar situation, he just started working and he's 20. He's working at a fast food place and is always complaining about his job and wanting a better job, but he refuses to quit for a few weeks to get a better job, so i dont feel sorry for his ass at all.
Just think of it this way, most jobs will only give u a pre-employment drug test, just pass that and u can smoke up again. Cheers.

Actually I just went for pre-employment for rent a center. On the app I filled out there was nothign about a drug test. When they called my for my interveiw is when they asked me if I'd be willing to take one.

well thats gay, now im screwed. i was all happy that these applications didnt mention anything about a test. fuck im scrweed.

We're pretty much in the same boat dude, except no ones really forcing me to get a job. I don't feel like quitting for a few weeks to get one, but I have a pretty high metabolism and I think if I stop for a few days and flush my system I'd be fine.

It's just a pain in the ass to worry about.

Unless its privately owned you probley will never get a decent job that doesnt test....there is alot of really great easy systems and the only renewable part is piss...so you can use it over and over. If needed you can order it...I have a clean friend.

im sure i can just follow some online "pass your drug test" dilution method. Ive read hundreds of them online and i know all about getting around drug testing. ive just never been tested and i dont feel like quitting for a few days and then have them give me a drug test date thtas like in a few weeks and ill have to be sober that whole time. fuck that.

Well I said "usually", most apps I have seen tell you (fine print). But your right too fallacy. Once I applied to Marshall fields and after I finished the interview they informed me I had to take a drug test within a certain time frame that day. Luckily I was on a dry spell during that time, so I was good with my own natural stuff..lol

Just try the substitution method when taking the drug test. When I did the one for Marshall Fields, they even let me take my purse into the bathroom with me, so it wasn't supervised. Get 2 bottles of quick fix and your good. Sorry to hear what moms is doing to ya though, hope everything works out.

Most places put you in a bathroom with blue toilet water alone. Get a kit with real human urine. I don't trust synthetic, just today I had a piss test and passed that way. Right after I got my medical marijuana card so now I don't have to worry about it anymore....best investment ever. California pot laws almost make up for their dumb ass firearm laws. Its funny im a cross between a pot smoking hippy and a conservative gun nut.

Well it depends, Marshall fields sent me to a lab, I believe it was Quest. I signed the forms stating who I was, showed ID, took instructions from the pee pee nazi (don't flush, don't wash your hands, 5 minute limit cuz i'm a female), did my do and was done.

Now, when I went to work for the local government job, their pre-employment drug test was done with a physical. I had to undress, let the doctor check me out, handed me the cup to do the drug test in the bathroom (which wasn't completely supervised, but it would be hard to sneak any substitution method into the restroom after the physical. on. But I had no time limit in the bathroom).

UPS is a corporation, a very large one at that, im pretty sure they drug test, if not i'll probably start working there cuz ive run out of options. And I didn't say anything to cliff about you and i being friends, i just told him who gave me his number cuz he was curious.

and yea im tryin to get a job but it can take time, im just makin the most of me freedom and partyin as much as possible for a while.
i just want money so i can move outa home

Good luck, once you find out how much it costs to actually survive, you'll run back to mommy, im having fun laughing at all my friends who it happens to. Im not moving out till im 20, id rather live for free for as long as i can then take the im-a-man-i-can-live-on-my-own option. ill be done with community college and on with fucking life in 2 years regardless so it doesent matter

hahah i understnad where you're coming from but i move every year or so so ive been to like 10 different schools and even more different houses. so im not bored with where i live, in fact im moving in a few months. Plus, i have it pretty easy, My mom is never home and she doesent care that i smoke. She just wants me to get a job is all and if thats the only requirment for living free then im in.

Well, you probably don't want to hear this, but why not abstain until you can find a job. You're 18yo, and it's time to grow up. I'm 49 and have been smoking weed since I was well before your age. And while I resent it, I will put my weed habit to the side because I don't have a mommy and daddy that I can sponge off of, or who will pay my bills.

I worked plenty of fast food jobs at your age, and anything beats a zero.

You need to start thinking about how you plan to spend the rest of your life, training for a decent job and reaching your full potential with whatever it is you are interested in or want to do. Those should be your priorities right now, not how you can continue smoking and still beat a drug test.

Wise up before you get into trouble, like getting busted for something stupid or minor, like having a roach in your car ashtray. Then you have probation drug testing to worry about, which if you fail, you'll end up in jail.

Ever think about going to school or getting technical training so you don't end up being an idiot or loser for the rest of your life? Start abstaining now, get a home test and test yourself in a few weeks to see how you're doing. It takes the average person 30 days to clean THC out of their system so it is not detectable on the average Wal-Mart or other retail drug test, with is 50ng. After you pass the dt, you can go back to smoking weed.

I do hope you plan on doing more with your life other than working at Wal-Mart, where they treat their workers like shit. Really, your mother should be telling you all this, not some stranger on the net.

My suggestion is go to a temp agency.

If you can use a computer, type pretty good, and know how to use all the microsoft shit, you can score a job easily. No drug testing until you actually get hired by the company that sought your services in the first place. Then you can request another temp position if you think you are going to fail.

Plus it's a better job than McDonalds, wal-mart and shit like that.

One temp company is manpower, which is nationwide I believe. It can get you plugged into a good job and makes job-seeking a little easier. You are compensated pretty well, usually wages start at $12/hr if you have relatively little skills.

Yea the temp agency is a good idea. And if you are a really good worker, you can be placed into a company permanently without drug testing for it. Only thing is if you go to a company that have randoms, you might have to worry about that and keep 2 bottles of QF in ya locker/desk/whatever.

If you haven't gotten enough suggestions already, here's another one. Be a waiter. You get cash in your pocket every shift and if restaurants drug tested, there would be no employees. The entire kitchen at the place I work is constantly high. It's funny until I have to make my own salads because the salad girl is stoned.
