Savage calls out George Bush. He makes the point: if someone is going to start a war, somebody needs to end it. With harsh attack, our country could free Iraq and move out. Savage uses a comparison to General Patton for his plan. With the war over, we could have more time to focus on domestic problems.
About how Islamists and how the radicals have turned their spread into the most dangerous campaign in modern times. This ??religion of peace? is the reason for almost every terrorist attack in the past twenty years. Savage goes on to reference their religious texts, in which, they promote the killing of non-believers. Islamofascists, as Savage calls them, are the biggest threat in modern times. The author addresses the growing problem of aliens, illegal aliens. According to the best estimates, over twelve million people come into this country illegally each year. Even in our heightened state of alert after 9/11, all these people are ??slipping? through our borders. These people also take money from us, through welfare and Medicaid. This may lead to more threats to our liberty.
Savage points out another area of our society that is sucking money from the pockets of innocent citizens. Lawyers, these days, are suing everyone. For example: Seong Sil Kim of New York was given $9.9 million because she stood in front of a train to commit suicide, and the train hit her hand. Eighty percent of doctors order unneeded tests and seventy-four percent refer patients to other specialists so that he or she cannot get sued. Whenever these occur, prices rise, stripping money from our wallets. Lawyers need to be severely restricted.
Savage takes a shot at the media. When Yassar Arafat died the media glorified him. This is the man who created the PLO, probably the second most terroristic group in the last sixty years. Arafat was responsible for millions of deaths, yet the media honored him as ??innovative?, a ??freedom fighter?. He also hid away billions of dollars that came from different countries, including our own, to help the impoverished masses in Palestine. This is not the only media glorified person, but it is the prime example. The liberal minds of the media have now warped history.
Groups similar to and including the ACLU have caused public scenes for decades. This is their tactic to putting down conservatives. They cannot let go of the sixties and step into our modern world. These actions need to be contained instead of magnified, which the media does. We can stop this by just simply ignoring them.
The book ends with a list of reasons why John Kerry lost the 2004 election. The biggest topic was gay marriage. John Kerry supported this measure. The fact is that America wants to save the family and keep it sacred. In the states that introduced a Defense of Marriage initiative on the 2004 ballot, all 11 supported it. In most states it was by an overwhelming amount. Kerry did not win the 2004 election because of this and other reasons.

I hardly want to participate in any other aspect of this thread, but I have a very distinct feeling that if anyone did much background research on Mr. Savage, they'd find he was a big fake with few, if any, academic credentials. Intelligent, educated people don't think the way he does unless they themselves have a screw loose. If anyone has a mental disorder, it's Michael Savage. That man is nuts, and my belief is that he's dangerous, too.
This reminds me of my kids.

If you'll read a bit on these boards, you'll see that threads, like normal conversations, frequently flow from topic to topic. It's the nature of the beast. I very deliberately refuse to get in the middle of silly insult-driven discussions like this one degenerated into after only two or three posts, but if the topic of someone like Michael Savage comes up, I won't ignore it just as I wouldn't in a regular conversation.
You take a deep breath and cling to single-track topics if you want. I intend to continue to be spontaneous and hope others will as well.

Marlboro, I didn't take your direction as an insult. Condescending, perhaps, since you compared the divergence of the thread to your kids. But not insulting. I just felt like giving it back to you. And if you'll read back, you'll see I wasn't reacting emotionally to the topic of poor Mr. Savage. I rarely do respond that way. My intellect is far too superior for me not to keep my emotional responses in check. Logical is the way we lawyer-reporter types are trained to think and respond. Illogical is generally the way Mr. Savage does business.
I just thought it was strange that you'd try to direct a topic to stay on track in that way, especially on boards created by and for cannabis believers. If any group of people was ever free-wheeling and spontaneous, it's this bunch. Thank goodness for divergent tracks, especially when people begin hurling the F word at one another. Now THAT's an example of a childish, emotional reaction.
P.S. To get us off on another tangent for good measure, I well remember that change-the-topic tactic my son used when he was a little guy. The funny thing is, I asked him about something he'd promised his father he would do yesterday and didn't do, and he changed the topic so fast it was incredible. He's not any more subtle as a 20-year-old than he was when he was 6!

Back on thread for a second. I guess this video from the Scarborough show was just on recently and that the NYTimes must be working on this story again or something.
What's not being played very highly in the video clip above is that this is a 20-year-old story. Factor 8 and the other two widely used clotting factors for hemophilia have been well tested and safe now from AIDS contamination for more than 15 years. This tainted Factor 8 "dumping" happened back before that was the case. The age of this story doesn't make Bayer's actions any better, of course. If, as frequently happens, a big pharm company worked around the FDA in a way so as to harm innocent people in markets other than America, that's still deplorable.
But everyone reading this now ought to know this regards something that happened during the 80s and received a good bit of attention then. I'm just curious why it's a hot topic again now. Please don't make the mistake of assuming that our current blood supply and clotting factors are still tainted or unsafe, here or in other developed countries. They're safe now. (But we're all still the victims of Big Pharma, as anyone who pays for medicines knows.)

I think he's appalling. I can easily tolerate and respect people with differing opinions if they are able to communicate them in sane, reasonable ways. He cannot. They took him off the radio market here, which is strange considering that the Dallas area is one of the most conservative parts of the country there is. In response to the thread.
The last time I checked there were no statutes of limitation of murder in the United States, which is exactly what is intended when you knowingly give another human being a death sentence, especially a kid who has his trust in you to help him.
It doesnt matter to me what part of the world it occurred in.
It is the intention behind the act and those intentions dont care whether it is 20,000 miles away or next door.
I dont care whether this happened 20 years ago or yesterday nor does this universe we live in. Time is irrelevent to your acts.
The fact is they knew that it was tainted with aids and went ahead and sold it to several foreign countries anyway and were told by the FDA to keep quiet about it according to Joe Scarborough.

Not the divergence Birdgirl, what I was refering to was, instead of Bong stateing his views in a articulate manner he made an attack then changed the subject. Allot like my kids do.
