How in the hell did I get busted!?

I was smoking outside a few days ago, really secret like, and afterwards I came inside to watch a little tv and get something to eat... My mom came downstairs and pretty much snuck up on me with a mouth full of cookies and my headphones on, I went and sat down on the couch and she asked me what I was doing, I told her I was watching TV and she grabbed me by the shirt and smelled my breath. Asked me why I was smoking weed. I denied it as best I could, but she said she can smell it on me, I denied it still but then she started asking me all these questions about where I got it and why I was smoking it... Say what? I ate eating garlic pizza, cookies and some cake, and was done smoking an hour and a half ago, how in the hell could she smell it on my breath!? I thought all that food got rid of the smell.

Out of all the ways I thought i'd get caught, my breath was the last of my worries. I no longer feel safe smoking anywhere anymore, regardless of how secretive I am about it, someone could always just smell my breath and give me away.

Has this ever happened to anybody else? Is there any surefire way to get rid of the smell? I can't believe I went out like this... :mad:

doesnt really sound like it was your breath that set her off....
obviously she wouldnt have smelled your breath if she didnt already suspect you smoking. she probobly caught on a while ago and was just waiting for you to get stoned again so she could bust you

That's exactly what she was doing, I know... however, she was so sure about it. As a matter of fact, she smelled my breath yesterday and again claimed I was high(brushed my teeth), but after I got pissed off about it and told her to stop being so damned suspicious she didn't say anything more about it. I'll have to ask her, maybe I could have dodged a bullet if I just would have been more agressive about it. Still, she knows I smoke cigarettes, yet she said it was weed she smelled.

How long does weed usually last on your breath? Could she have been bluffing?

maybe she knew you were high from all the food you were eating...

i dunno, it shouldnt stick on your breath that long, i dunno what shes lunching about.

Lol, that's one thing my buddy said to me one time... "Dude, it's not like your mom is going to get up in your face and be like let me smell your breath!"

As far as her bluffing, I think she might have been. Maybe he's just trying to get you to admit that you smoke. But really, she doesn't have any proof that you do. Ya know what I mean?

I can remember this like it was yesterday! I was 18 and it was 2 am I was trying to sneak in the house with my pocket knife. All of a sudden the door comes flyin' open and she grabs me much the same way yours did! She says" ooooo you reak with it! I said,Do what? She says you know exactly what I mean young man! Oh shit! Here comes Daddy! It's on now! Boy! He said! You know what time it is? No Sir! I said! He did'nt whip my ass for smokin'! I got caught on vacation last week

Nahh what shes trying to do is freak you out by making you think shes a total drug hound and that she'll catch you even if you blazed hours ago.

Trust me she couldnt have smelled that so much later after eating too. its not very hard to figure out whats going on when youre devouring the kitchen and listen to music in the wee hours.

Apart from the problem of the smell on your clothes you have one other thing to contend with,,
nobody knows you like your mother and mothers have built in bullshit detectors dude.:D

Just spray some Febreez into your mouth.

and it goes FAR beyond your breath...it's on your clothes, in your car and on everything around you when you smoked the stuff! it's a no-brainer...

Hehe, Problem is, I always eat, watch tv, and listen to music in the wee hours of the morning. I've been a night owl for years, she knows this, but when your high you get a little... Wobbly :D. Must of been a sight seeing me clumsily go for the couch as soon as I noticed she was there. Anyway, she said she heard me when I came in and was suspicious of what I was doing outside. I've been smoking for a long time, and even talked to my parents high as hell, but this is the first time she was really suspicious about it.

I confronted her just now, and asked her how in the hell she smelled it on me. She said she noticed a faint, sweet, smokey smell on my breath that didn't smell like cigarettes...

So I guess it really was on my breath. Now i'm trying to figure out how to get rid of that smell, apparently food doesn't work, which makes me wonder if the smell comes from your mouth or your lungs. I exhaled through my nose when she smelled me so... maybe so. How the fuck are you supposed to get the smell out of your lungs? Will deep breathing work? Or maybe the smell got into my facial hair like it would your fingers... Maybe somebody can enlighten me on where the smell came from?

I've never been caught before, thought I was invincible, I guess you folks are right, you can fool everybody exept your own mom. And to think, my dad was my real worry.:rolleyes:

Wow i so happy i never had to deal with that becuase all my parents did when i was i was mess with me so i'd freak out. God those were the days but now i'm having to smoke outside and check myself because i live in a apartment and my nieghbor is a weed hating cop that would bust me on the spot for even looking high.:stoned:

When you turn 18, you gotta do what i do; pack a bowl in the bong and smoke right in front of her. I've smoked hash in front of my mom, in fact i've even hit the gasmask with her in front of me too. i say "you used to smoke at my age, don't be a hypocrit" and fire one up. yeeeeeaaaah.

she saw you in your secret spot or whatever and she's saying she smelled it because she wants you to keep using that spot so she knows everytime you smoke

Where did you roll? Leave any papers, baccy, stems, etc. anywhere in the house? I got caught with that before

Humm,Well it easy to answer this one! Most parents of the folk here grew up in the 60's-70's(I went to high school from 72 to 76) so...Go watch "Dazed and Confused" Then ask again "How did I get Busted?" :D :thumbsup:

You're on the right track... Parents are as sneaky as you are but more remember wisdom goes a long ways. If you've done it before then you knwo what someone else will do. Your parents aren't dumb. She has prolly been watching you for a while now. She has prolly smelt it on you before, noticed your red eyes or munchies. Think before you act otherwise she will be back agian. :thumbsup:

Bro your mom was bluffin.. never go down admitting... the only way to be for sure caught is to be caught red handed.. then again u dont have to get caught in order for ur parents to know u smoke. ur parents have known u ur whole life (hopefully) they can tell, plus its not only a one time thing.. things add up over time.smoke stealthy and steer clear. dont put urself in a position to get caught.

i think she already knew but i also think she was just playing the intimidation game this time...

for example, she was waiting for you to leave the house/be gone for awhile, then when you came back in, she watched what you were doing, quietly of course... all the food tipped her off you have ~muchies~, therefore you must've been smoking weed, now she's trying to intimidate you into saying you did it, even tho she couldn't possibly know you just did it (keep in mind she's previously caught you but hasn't said anything)

or, she has been watching you very hard cuz she ~knows~ what you're doing, when you leave the house she tails you, or keeps an eye on you, and she saw you smoking, even tho to you it's impossible she could have saw you...

then again, a mother always knows. doesn't matter how secretive you are, or how careful you are... she knows.. and i have the living experience to prove this, i was always trying to do things that i wasn't sposed to, and i was a pretty damn smart kid good at covering my tracks and making alibies, but i still somehow always got caught... and i've seen the same for everyone else i grew up with/around and was around them and their mothers..

they just plain always know.

Some weed just leaves a stink on you for a long time.
you don't notice it cus you smoke. it's just your parent's I thought some one from the bord's got pinch'et smoke when they go to bed or take a walk.
