If window light is useless?

Everyone says window light won't work to grow a marijuana plant, however, my mate currently has 6 successfully grown females right now, grown purly from the natural sunlight in his large door patio window. He has no gear at all and just waters them every 2nd day.

Everyone keeps telling me window light is useless, get a CFL-- and a high powered one at that.


How come my friend is so sucessfull with his grow if window light is useless?


He admits the plants could produce more if they had high powered lights, but he doesn't care because the plants already give him enough smoke for his personal smoking use. What's the deal with this? WHy do people keep saying windowlight will do NOTHING?

It'll do something, it can be done. Althought, it usually leads to plants stretching, which will probably give you less bud production. It'll cost about 20 bucks for a few cfl's. Not only can you take more control over your plant, increase bud production, and (usually) finish sooner, but it'll only cost you 20 dollars.

It's like this. I can put my tomato plant in a window. It might have some problems, and the tomatoes might not end up very big, but I will have successfully grown tomatoes nonetheless. Or, I could plant my tomatoes outside, water them, feed them, and give them plenty of sunlight, and they'll end up huge. Now, they may not end up huge, but there's a greater chance they will.

If there's two paths from A to B, which one is correct? Both, though one may be faster and more fulfilling.

That weed is going to be crap.
And wont yeild anything other then some fluffy airy buds that don't wiegh anything.

I agree with Jdog 100%. The buds will weigh nothing, and the THC content will be VERY low. Maybe 5% if your lucky.

Also it causes plants to stretch, and you cant get light on the plants for the 18+ hours the need to be sucessful during vegging. Thats why they strech.

Also move one ton of gravel piece by piece and get it moved. Now if I want to do it EFFICENTLY I will fire up the Bobcat and move it all in 10 minutes or less. When people are suggesting to get some CFL's they are simply suggesting you add some efficency to the grow and not spend a fortune.


But, if your friend is tickled pink, who are these pro's to suggest anything in order to make some decent bud. The nerve of y'all:dance: :dance:

I'm using a CFL for my grow, I was just wondering why people said it will do NOTHING. The weed my mate grows isn't bad, it does the trick, but I have definately had better.

Yep im trying this myself as a little side thing to my
outside plants they are stretching and i really don't
see anything good coming of this so they are going
outside to my plot this week end. here is a pic of
one at two weeks and it is STREEEEEEETCHINGGGGGG.
It was plant abuse I tell you!!!!!!!!! They just do not
get the direct sunlight that is needed.

Window Lights may be good for germinating and growing small seedlings (and possibly vegging if enough light) But for flowering it'd either be recommended you just grow them outside directly getting exposed to the sun light or get a HID to grow them. Thats if you want worth-while buds.

I have a CFL though, so of course I should just use that right?

Use as many as you can and keep as close to plant as you can. Lumens =buds. Look into a 250 watt MH/HPS if you can deal with the heat. If your grow area is bigger, then get bigger. The reward is at harvest.

Sure it's fun.
But is it worth getting busted over?

Sure you can. You'll be successful, but I dont recommend that CFL for flowering though :).
